Time to start planning the Birmingham Meet Up!

Who's with me?

Preferences and musings on weekday v weekend, whether this is a day trip or a cottage and is February doable or April more realistic?

aw Evitas you and V will be missed!
Elliott and i will be there cannot wait :)

SiameseCatWoman · 07/03/2011 17:35

Oh yes! That's loads of us then! Fingers crossed for a heatwave.

only a couple of weeks till the mmmmm! cant wait! think we need to finalise some plans dont we?

SiameseCatWoman · 15/03/2011 19:53

I think that I can realistically get there for 12 and leave at 3.30/4pm. I'll be coming by train and walking to Brindley place in the glorious sunshine.

Will we be going in the sealife centre? (I want to) if so are there any vouchers hanging around locally ICWAS/ Sarah?

Will we picnic whatever the weather? Probably need to check forecast closer to the time.

What time will everyone else arrive, and by what transport?

Excited :)

MissPenteuth · 17/03/2011 19:30

I think I'll be driving, and probably arrive about 12-12.30. Train might be more practical but it's going to cost me 40 quid, so driving is probably cheaper even once parking costs are factored in. Also takes about the same time, door to door. Anyone know where I'd be able to park in the centre?

slimmingsarahandco · 17/03/2011 21:59

i am goin to be driving too- i am sure the sea life centre has its own car park MissP! 12 pm seems like a great time

Flisspaps · 17/03/2011 22:04

There's an NCP car park on Brindleyplace, round the back of the City Inn (think it's called the Mint Inn or something now)

Flisspaps · 17/03/2011 22:04

I can get there for about 12ish :)

Sounds good iwcas. I'll have my car, so can bring food, drinks etc. Fingers crossed for good weather!

Sariska · 19/03/2011 18:09

I'm getting the train and was planning to get one that arrives into New St at 12 so a 12.30 meet up time sounds perfect.

Pingpong · 25/03/2011 19:56

MIL is being a bit funny these days and DH is working lots and lots of overtime so I was wondering just how I was going to pull off this MMMM but much to my surprise MIL called tonight to say she will have DD1 that weekend, pick up on Friday and I'm to collect on Sunday so now I need to start plotting and working out a cunning plan Grin

SiameseCatWoman · 25/03/2011 20:36

Woo hoo! That's even more of us :)

I'm working on getting DH to make one of his legendary Victoria sponges. Shred shmed!

Pingpong · 26/03/2011 16:26

B**y MIL called today to cancel. Weekend has been rescheduled for 3 weekends away instead okay looks like big sis is coming too !

slimmingsarahandco · 26/03/2011 18:46

SMAC the more the merrier x she will have a fab time x

Pingpong · 26/03/2011 20:14

Oh I know she will have a fab time it's just the effort of travelling and taking one is much more straightforward than two! I was considering the train for one but no way with two so I'll probably drive.
Having said that they were both so good today when I was busy at a nappy event so I shouldn't grumble really.

slimmingsarahandco · 27/03/2011 11:49

i know what you mean Smac- all changes when there is more than one to deal with!

Pingpong · 30/03/2011 21:59

Okay ladies I'm really sorry but I won't be able to make it this weekend. I've been trying to wade through my ever increasing 'to do' list and today I found the car MOT and it is due on 3rd April , well that is Sunday so I've had to book the car in for a service on Friday 1st and the MOT on Sat 2nd. No way around this I'm afraid so I'll have to try really hard to make the next meet up.

slimmingsarahandco · 30/03/2011 22:23

oh no smac! so sorry your not going to be able to join us all- hope the car passes and doesnt cost u too much too x

Pingpong · 30/03/2011 22:29

it is newish so I'm hoping it will be fine. Just a bit cross with myself that I've managed to leave it to the last minute I could have coped with the train and one baby girl !

SiameseCatWoman · 31/03/2011 09:51

Pants Smac I was looking forward to seeing you and your beautiful girls. Do you stay in Edinburgh much on the way home? Could we organise Scotland #2 when you're around?

Weather on Sat - iffy, so I've seen. Could change? Shall we definatly picnic ( I'm assuming that eating space is indoors ICWAS?

Pingpong · 31/03/2011 12:56

I will be in Edinburgh just before Easter weekend - will confirm dates shortly. Will be coming back to Wales direct though after my friends wedding as DD1 is going to nursery school and will have missed her first week!
I'll be definitely going back up in August and again in October.
Possibly a weekend trip in June just to Edinburgh but nothing planned for certain.
I'll try and get some definite dates but I would love a Scottish meet up.
In terms of other locations Bristol is easier for me to get to than Birmingham. And I can manage London too. I might be coming to London for a nappy meeting regarding a wholesale/distributor thing but again dates aren't fixed for this. I would love to meet any of the London gang if I can pull it off :)

SiameseCatWoman · 31/03/2011 16:13

Oo the weather for Saturday has changed to 16 with sunny intervals :)

MissPenteuth · 31/03/2011 19:34

Sounds promising :) We should make some concrete plans, especially if people need to bring things. Or does it make more sense to just buy food there* once we know what the weather is doing?

Smac, I'm sorry you won't be joining us, I was looking forward to meeting you and your lovely girls.

*apart from the aforementioned Victoria sponge Grin
