Time to start planning the Birmingham Meet Up!

Who's with me?

Preferences and musings on weekday v weekend, whether this is a day trip or a cottage and is February doable or April more realistic?

OP posts:

Flisspaps · 16/01/2011 23:08

I will be coming on the train IWCAS although I'm not averse to jumping on a bus/in a train if needs be.

2nd or 9th suit me Grin

I've never been to the Sea Life Centre though, might be something to keep the babies entertained.

Flisspaps · 16/01/2011 23:14

From having a look at the places you mentioned IWCAS, I've just realised you must live fairly close to my sister - she's in Hall Green.

evitas · 17/01/2011 14:29

Both dates are good for me!
I love the idea of a picnic IWCAS :)

Rindercella · 17/01/2011 15:15

I will probably be driving - can either train or drive quite easily from where I am, but driving is probably easier.

Picnic is a lovely idea. Sealife also a good idea - haven't been before, but it's in a really good central location, easily accessible whether you're coming by train or car. I guess we could aim to do both, dependent on weather? So plan for a picnic, but if weather is rubbish we can go somewhere indoors instead...there's loads of places around Brindley Place, including The Handmade Burger Co which I have never been to but is co-owned by one of my old neighbours & looks nice.

SiameseCatWoman · 22/01/2011 17:03

Shall we say 2nd April then, to get it in everyones diary? A daytrip by the looks of it, it is about 2.5 hrs on train for me.

I love the idea of a picnic too! ICWAS/ rinders/ squiggly are these places easy to get to from New Street station?

Sariska · 22/01/2011 21:31

I can do the 2nd.

Might anyone else be bringing a toddler as well as an almost-toddler?

Rindercella · 23/01/2011 22:28

I can do 2nd. It's now in my diary.

I will be bringing my 3.5 year old Sariska.

Flisspaps · 02/02/2011 21:48

I know where Brindleyplace is, DH and I stayed in the City Inn there last November - our last DD-free getaway! Looking forward to this Grin

vanimal · 02/02/2011 21:56

Is this open to all or is it for a particular post-natal group?

What does MMM mean?

(Wonders if she would be booted out if turning up uninvited)

Flisspaps · 03/02/2011 08:20

March (2010) Mums Meet-up = MMM

We're very friendly though!

vanimal · 03/02/2011 17:15

Ah, I see!

My two are older (3y and 1.5y), but I will pop by and say hello if I can, it's not too far from me!

evitas · 04/02/2011 08:34

Ok, I'll start my travel arrangements :) I need to book a hotel and check if we are flying or taking the train (DH is also coming).

Very exciting Wink

SiameseCatWoman · 04/02/2011 16:10

Less than two months to go!
( books appointments for defuzzing and mane taming)

Pingpong · 09/02/2011 23:30

MMM - Mad March Mums Grin
MMMM- Mad March Mums Meet-up

Still trying to work out logistics.....
and marking my spot!

Thank you for kind offer of accommodation IWCAS. Doglet will most certainly going to kennels and I would very much like to leave DD1 with Nana and just bring DD2.

slimmingsarahandco · 10/02/2011 09:05

ooohhhhhh so excited !

saoirse86 · 13/02/2011 12:38

I'm glad vanimal asked about this, I was wondering if I was allowed to invite myself too (mainly because I live in Birmingham too) but my DD's only 4 1/2 months Sad I thought MMM meant Mumsnet Mums Meet-up

Oh well....

Pingpong · 14/02/2011 21:45

it's in the post-natal club so it's an off shoot of our March 2010 post natal club.
I'm sure there must be other Birmingham Mumsnet meet ups as well though. Have you checked the
local section?

Amazon boxes make the BEST toys. Honestly. DD loves them.

evitas · 03/03/2011 13:27

I'm so sorry, but I wont be able to meet you :(
I was asked to give a talk on Friday the 1st, from 3 to 5pm (and it's a very important thing), so it spoils all the travel arrangements.

x
