HALLELUJAH! After my whinge yesterday, Conrad slept from nearly 8pm to nearly 7am! Don't suppose he'll be up for an encore tonight, but at least we know he can do it without having to go down the CC route (yet).

Blathers - you could try Freecycle for a black coat?

Blatherskite · 04/02/2011 15:49

I found a couple of friends with spare ones. They're both taller than me but the coats are short on them so hopefully, things will even out :)

Hoorah for the sleeping. Fingers crossed it's the start of a new era. Catherine's gone back to 6.15 wakes but it's still better than 5.20!

HerculesPoirot · 04/02/2011 18:56

Hurrah Blue - that's good news! Fingers crossed he does it again for you.

Glad you've got yourself a coat Blathers as although the brown one would be absolutely fine, it sounds like you'll be more comfortable in a black coat.

Lee hope you all feel better soon.

Nothing much to report here - I'm glad dh is back tomorrow, just to ease my boredom in the evenings mostly!!! He usually gets a car back as it's work, but we're going to meet him tomorrow - I reckon Imogen will enjoy the hustle of T5 and have lots to nose at. Going to take her lunch and bag ourselves a prime spot in Costa Coffee - oh the high life I lead these days!!!

Not much more walking here, she is doing a lot of standing along and will take maybe one step without prompting, but just doesn't quite seem to have the confidence to do much more and when you can crawl that fast I can understand it!!! I have had the most amounts of big hugs and kisses off her today which was nice, although I imagine I'll be back on the back burner once daddy is back home!!!!

Catherine loves giving kisses at bedtime after her bath - but only to Daddy Sad I get odd ones during the day to make up though. She gives them all open mouthed though, no pukering up here.

Sorry I cost you money in the JL sale Lee. Hope you got some lovely things.

I've never used the new Wine emoticon. Only realised it existed today. I've asked for an evil grin emoticon in the past but they didn't seem interested.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/02/2011 21:27

I dreamt of a Wine emoticon last week. Confused

WE GOT THE HOUSE! Sold subject to contract!

HerculesPoirot · 04/02/2011 21:47

Woohoo ABG that's fab! I saw your Wine thread - spooky. Can we put in request for dreams from you now?!?

Blathers - I reckon Catherine and Imogen are just putting in the hard work now to ensure full wrapping of daddies round their little fingers for the future. I must admit it worked for me...!!!

When I say kisses, I do often mean open mouthed slobbering it has to be said, but seeing as Imogen still doesn't say anything resembling mummy/mama I am taking my love where I can get it!!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 04/02/2011 22:02

Hi All

JJust a quick message. Glad things are getting sorted for you Blathers with the funeral and that it goes as well as these things can.

Hercules and Blathers, ann is also a Daddy's girl! Totally!

And great nws on the house ABF! Hope you enjoy the roller derby; sounds mega!

Off now for some Wine!! :o

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/02/2011 22:23

Elizabeth is a daddy's girl aswell. so much so that if she wakes in the night and cant be settled she comes in with us but wont settle properly until I have vacated the bed and have to top and tail with Jake whilst she and her precious daddy has the double to themselves! Grrr lol

Blatherskite · 05/02/2011 22:03

Really struggling to stay upbeat here. Grandad's funeral is getting closer, local friend has had second operation to remove more breast tissue and lymph nodes to try to get rid of her cancer and an old uni friend has just announced that his baby boy was stillborn on Tuesday at 29 weeks after a routine checkup found no heartbeat Sad

Why do these things always have to happen all at once?

HerculesPoirot · 05/02/2011 23:07

Oh blathers, how horrible that it all seems to be happening at once. Wish there was something more I could say or do. Big hugs even though its not the 'done thing'.

Blatherskite · 06/02/2011 08:26

Thanks Hercule.

Catherine has gone back to waking really early too which isn't helping. This morning it was 5am! I tried leaving her to resettle and going in to lie her down again but she just screamed until I gave up and got up - a whole hour and a half!

And she's stopped eating too. Anything home made is rejected. She will only reliably eat pots of Organix bolognese meant for 7 month olds - or yogurts.

HerculesPoirot · 06/02/2011 11:54

Oh no, poor you! I wouldn't worry about the eating, maybe she is picking up on the stress and just wants comfort foods for now - I know that is how I feel sometimes. As long as she is eating something for now, you can always worry about that later.

Imogen has a it of a cough, she coughed a lot on Friday after going to bed, for about an hour and a half off and on, but was fine. Last night she went straight to sleep, but I heard her coughing off and on for a couple of oursin the middle of the night. She did cry out a couple of times, but didn't wake up, but when we went in this morning she had been sick in the night. Not a lot, but I felt guilty for not realising. Anyway, she s excited to have. Bath first thing in the morning as she doesn't usually o that!

Lee, that has made me feel so much better. Sometimes Imogen is fine with food, and other times I feel like she eats nothing but the same three things spoon fed to her. I almost asked about it the other week, but then all of a sudden out if the blue she stopped wanting to be fed by us and has started eating sandwiches which is good, although not always vast much and so she also has a lot of this ella's fruit and veg pouches which she sucks out of the pouch if I think she needs vitamins or to be filled up!

Blatherskite · 06/02/2011 15:04

I guess now we're not being watched by the HV's it doesn't matter so much but I worry about her weight. She was only 2nd centil at 13 months, there's not a lot of her for her to be losing any weight.

She's not a great fan of milk either.

BlueChampagne · 07/02/2011 12:38

Great news on the house ABF - hope it all continues to go smoothly.

Glad you've found a coat Blathers, and hope you get some good news soon. It's even worse when they accept the bought and reject the home-made. I think Hercule is right about the stress. Time for Wine - for you not her! Love that emoticon.

Conrad slept through again on Friday night, up for a bit Sat evening then slept the crucial 11-7. Last night not so good, but I still feel we're making progress.

HerculesPoirot · 08/02/2011 20:00

Hello everyone - hope you are well.

Blathers - how is everything with you and your family now? I hope the funeral isn't playing too much on your mind.

Excellent news on Conrad's sleeping Blue - that is exactly what happened with Imogen. She did it once, then again a short while later, then randomly did it two nights in a row, then not for a few nights, then it just sort of happened more and more. She has slept through every night except one in the last 3/4 weeks now. We even had MIL babysit for a couple of hours after she went to bed on Sunday and went out for a drink with DH's twin brother who was down for the night and some friends which was nice.

Blatherskite · 08/02/2011 21:10

Just counting down to the funeral now. Will be heading back to Yorkshire on Thursday night and then the funeral will be on Friday.

Still got nothing to wear. I bought that dress but it's not very forgiving and as my tummy is still not fully recovered from me getting to the size of a whale, I just look pregnant in it! We've had a carzy busy day today so I've had no time to shop but am going to go back to the shops either tomorrow or Thursday. Tomorrow would mean missing Toddler group for Catherine but Thursday seems like leaving it a bit late.

Very Envy of your night out. DH and I are attempting dinner out on Sunday night but last time we did that, Catherine woke up and wouldn't resettle for MIL so it might be a short one.

Blatherskite · 09/02/2011 11:28

Thanks Lee. I'm sure it would be lovely but I have to drive up to Yorkshire tomorrow night so no time to order anything I'm afraid.

I've been to the city center and got this which isn't perfect but does make me look less pregnant than the Next one. Going to try it on with tumy holding in pants and hope for the best. If I still look fat then I'm just going to cry I think. I had a look round some other shops but saw nothing.

Next week, when I don't need one, I will of course find 20 flattering black dresses

Blatherskite · 09/02/2011 11:36

Oh and I got yelled at by some weird old man while shopping. The city center is really quiet at this time of day so just me and him were walking down the massive walkway. As we got close to a little stall thing in the middle, he starts holding his arm out towards me and moving closer to us. I thought he was going to try and grab me!! He got right up close to me and I had to push his hand away to get past. The he shouted, really loudly "You're bloody rude you are" Shock Confused

I guess his spacial awareness is going and he thought we were going to collide but his had was at shoulder level and he was moving towards us! If he's just kept going in the direction he started, we'd have been about 6 foot apart!

It really upset me because 1) I hate being yelled at and 2) My Grandad was such a lovely old man and had to go through that awful death and there are horrid, grumpy old gits like that alive and making peoples lives a misery. Definitely a similar age. It's just not fair

HerculesPoirot · 09/02/2011 19:08

That man sounds a bit unbalanced - I think you were polite not to shout back tbh. That second dress also looks lovely, I am sure that you will look lovely in it. You are quite right though there will be black dresses everywhere you go next week - sod's law. Hope your journey tomorrow is easy and I will be thinking of you on Friday.

I'm pleased there is only one week to half term for me. Dh is away next week again, but going to take the Friday of my half term off and I think we might visit the farm if the weather is nice, or maybe go to the London aquarium if not.

BlueChampagne · 10/02/2011 12:50

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Blathers.

Conrad has a bit of a cough which is waking him up, but it's not on his chest at least.
