Blatherskite · 23/08/2011 19:37

I hope Kate won't mind me saying, but as Lee isn't on Facebook and Hercule hasn't seen..... Kate had a gorgeous little baby girl on Sunday night.

She's soooo cute :)

Oh congratulations! I've only just sent Kate a friend request in fact! Hope you are all doing well.

We are now home safely thanks Lee, we were in Tuscany in a villa with our own pool which was amazing. Had a fab time, my parents were with us so I got lots of lie ins and time off and my brother and his girlfriend joined us for the second week. Imogen is going around saying 'ciao!' which is hilarious and she also had a brilliant time.

Hope you are all well too!

LifeOfKate · 24/08/2011 07:07

Hello, I am back :o

Of course I don't mind you saying, Blathers, I intended to get back on the internet a little sooner but you all know how mad it gets when you have a new baby!
I didn't need to be induced in the end, my waters went at 8pm on Sunday night and she was born at 10.36pm about an hour after we got to the hospital Shock We've finally decided on a name, she's called Rosa :)

Hope everyone's ok :) Back soon, just heard Noah get up...

Blatherskite · 24/08/2011 08:22

I guessed you might be a bit busy :) Glad you didn't mind me passing on the message.

Rosa is a beautiful name too.

Blimey Kate, that was fast! She is gorgeous though and you look so well and happy too so congrats again!

Hope everyone else is well. Immy is hilarious, I am loving this age so far. Her words are growing by the day and she can be VERY bossy, but usually in quite a funny way. She is also quite diva-ish about her clothes and can look very funny, especially as she is obsessed with her wellie boots to 'splash, SPLASH, mumeeeee'. This morning I woke up to hear her calling 'mummy, daddy, nanna' which was quite cute. She likes 'helping' and loads the washing machine and turns it in, she likes hanging out the wet washing too, although if I left it as she hangs it out I am not sure it would dry!

Blatherskite · 28/08/2011 15:25

Yey, you're back! :)

I guess we're too late in the holidays for a meet up now though Sad

And I've got tonsillitis AGAIN!

MrsHerculePoirot · 28/08/2011 17:34

Oh no, that is RUBBISH! Hope you feel better soon, will they take them out now do you think?

I am immy free tonight, dh is away with the scouts for the week and she is staying at my parents house tonight while I go out to my brother's pub for a quiz and some drinks! Very exciting!

Blatherskite · 30/08/2011 20:22

Hope you had a lovely night off Hercule.

I've been feeling really bad that my endless bouts of tonsillitis have ruined the holidays so I've decided that we're going to have a fun packed last week to try and make up for it a little. Today we went to the "beach" in the city centre, It's a massive sand pit basically but the children loved it. Then we played crazy golf and went on the Helter Skelter and even had candy floss. It would have been fitting to have fish and chips for lunch but they'd not provided for that so we went to Burger King instead. Not the healthiest of meals but we don't do it every day and I made up for it by piling thier plates with veg for dinner :)

Tomorrow we're going to Gullivers Land.

The plan is to keep it up for a week but at this rate I'm not sure I'll last that long! Grin

LifeOfKate · 31/08/2011 20:12

Right, I'm sorry, I've been rubbish! The birth was fast, almost a little too fast and not really helped by not 'knowing' it would be fast, and the midwife clearly knew somehow it would be but hadn't told me that :( I was even trying not to push as I thought it was too early! I remember them handing her to me and thinking that they must have given me someone elses baby as I still had hours left of labour yet!
Noah is doing ok, he ignores her most of the time, we have had a little bit of attention seeking (general, not just when we are tending to Rosa) but I think that's because his routine is a little up in the air rather than solely due to Rosa. He does have very sweet moments though, like he'll come and hold her hands and laugh :o
Hope everyone else is ok. Blathers - how horrible to have tonsillitis again!!! Must be horrible, hope you feel better soon :( Hercule - I love this age too, they are just so cute and cheeky! :o

Blatherskite · 02/09/2011 09:00

Operation Makethemostofthelastweekoftheholidays is going well but I'm knackered! Glad it's almost the weekend!

How is everyone else doing?

MrsHerculePoirot · 04/09/2011 19:32

Glad your last week is going well, hope you enjoyed it and aren't too exhausted!

I am actually looking forward to going back to work tomorrow for a rest!!! I think it will be a bit wierd without Imogen though having seen her every day for weeks and weeks. She is so funny, but just never stops - just running around, giggling, shouting, running some more... pretty much non-stop unless she is sleeping, even in her highchair she is talking, singing, demaning more to eat... at least she sleeps at night now!!!!!

Blatherskite · 04/09/2011 22:03

We managed swimming today too. Haircut for Alex tomorrow and swimming lesson for Catherine. The holidays are definitely over now Sad

Just got a few last name labels to sew in and we'll be all ready for Thursday - or as ready as we can be anyway

LifeOfKate · 05/09/2011 20:37

Happy birthday, Hercule :o

MrsHerculePoirot · 05/09/2011 23:45

Thanks Kate!

Blatherskite · 06/09/2011 22:32

Tomorrow is my lat day with Alex before he becomes a school child!! Having a serious wobble.

What about you ABF? Is Jake starting School too?

LifeOfKate · 07/09/2011 09:30

Aww, Blathers! I am already wobbling and Noah isn't 2 yet Blush I will be a nervous wreck in 3 years time! Is he looking forward to it?

Blatherskite · 07/09/2011 13:04

He is. He talks about going with a smile on his face and genuinely seems excited. We've talked about how Mummy can't stay with him this time like I did at 2/3 of his settling in sessions and that I'll be dropping him off and picking him up again later like we did at Pre-school - he seems happy with this but I'm still a little worried that he'll change his mind when he gets there tomorrow.

MIL has asked to come with us for drop off and I've said yes - I'll get many DIL brownie points and she'll be able to help with Catherine if he does wobble. She'll also take a million photos which will take the pressure off me. DH can't get the day off work so he's asked me to take some photos and I was wondering how I was going to manage Alex, Catherine, Book bag, PE bag and camera in a room full of parents, school children, siblings and teachers in full 'first day madness' mode!

My advice is make the most of preschool Kate. As soon as Catherine is 3 we'll be putting her in for her free sessions. It'll mean we can both wean our way into the routine slowly - Alex started with 2 morning sessions and we slowly increased them over the course of about a year to 5 mornings and 1 afternoon with a lunch club so I knew he was OK eating at School. They don't have to be there so you can still pull them out for special days out etc but it really helps them get the idea of what School is about and what is expected of them.

LifeOfKate · 07/09/2011 20:15

Yeah, Noah will be going to the nearest pre-school for the free sessions too, and maybe a few sessions before that as they can take them from 2. It is attached to the school that he'll go to if we still live here, and in their final term(s?) at the preschool, they do the odd session in the school to get them used to the environment :) I can't believe I'm talking about pre-school, it doesn't seem like 5 minutes since he was born Confused

Anyway, hope he has a brilliant day tomorrow :o Great idea to get MIL onboard, I may steal that idea myself!
