New thread Xmas Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ha, sorry Lee. I always end up organising nights out here so I guess I'm at least getting better at delegating now :)

I believe it is with kids yes. Picnic and Castles sounds good but maybe a bed weather back-up would be wise. I guess we need to choose a date too...

Fingers crossed that baby is here soon Kate. Friend still hasn't had hers either and she'll be a week over tomorrow so I'm guessing she's just as frustrated. Come on babies!! :)

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 11/08/2011 22:04

Hi all, are we thinking of a weekend, or during the week?

Spoke to dad today, which was good. He said that it is going ok, lots of form filling at the mo and meetings with various people (I assume probation officers etc) but hoping that by middle of next week he'll be transferred to somewhere for lower category inmates. Said that people were ok but that it was full of criminals Grin and quite a few druggies Sad but that people so far, including his room mate had been quite friendly. Said he felt a bit out of his depth. He'd been to the library there and managed to get some books to read and there's a tv too, so should keep him occupied until he moves on. Sorry for droning on, just good to talk about it. I burst into tears after I put the phone down, but I know it will get easier for us all as time goes on.

Hold on in there Kate,it can't be too long now! Xxx

Ah but being good at it and enjoying it are two separate things Lee Wink

You must know somewhere, what do you do with Andrew when it's just the two of you?

I was so worried about EasyJet trashing our seat when we went to Portugal that I bought a cheap one from Argos to take instead. I'm so glad we did too because it obviously got thrown around - every time it came off the conveyor, the padded cover was pulled off the frame!

There's no way I'd use it everyday but it was more than good enough for the short trip to the airport and over to the villa and means that my expensive Maxi Cosi one is still safe and sound :)

Really looking forward to tomorrow. We're dropping the children off at PIL's just after lunch and then DH and I have 24 hours to ourselves! The plan is to eat out for lunch and dinner and spend the rest of the time at the pub :) We might fit in a movie too if there's anything we fancy seeing. We even get a lie in in the morning, it's going to be great - best anniversary ever Grin

Hello! Just popping in to say hi from italy! Have read all news, but quite difficult to type I find on iPhone so will catch up proper when we get home next week.

LifeOfKate · 13/08/2011 16:40

Lee - that's rubbish about the car seat :( When we went to Norway last year, the airline (Norwegian Air) broke our pushchair and refused to take responsibility as it wasn't in a 'buggypack' which costs about £150 - nearly as much as the pushchair cost!!!!

I am still here and still pregnant and getting thoroughly pissed off with people pestering me, particularly on facebook, I really had to restrain myself not to put a sarcastic status update yesterday Blush I'm only 3 days overdue (was 2 weeks last time and induced, so not sure why people are surprised Confused) so not sure I can handle another 10 days of this!!

My friend has had her baby! He was born this morning. He is very cute but nameless at the moment. Hope your wait is over soon too Kate

LifeOfKate · 16/08/2011 13:22

Grr, still here and still pregnant :(
Had a sweep yesterday afternoon, but nothing happening still :(
Have got induction booked for Monday, so at least there is an end in sight...

MrsHerculePoirot · 17/08/2011 11:10

Hi again! Kate sorry to hear about all the frustrating comments, hope you pop soon for your sanity!

Lee I think that is brilliant saying about the sofa. Immy a way off that yet, although words are growing by the day and she is so excited everytime she uses one. She likes saying ciao, which is funny though!

Still in Italy until the weekend, but found free wifi at this restaurant!

Blatherskite · 18/08/2011 07:47

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday Hercule.

Hope baby comes soon Kate. Although do you want him/her to come today? Maybe tomorrow Wink

Any more thoughts on the meet-up? The end of the holidays is approaching fast and it's looking worryingly like the end of the Summer already Sad

LifeOfKate · 18/08/2011 12:38

I'm still here and still pregnant! 41+1 now. Having said that, I've got my legs crossed today as it's my birthday, and being selfish, I don't particularly want to share it, so more than happy to wait until tomorrow now!

Only a couple of weeks to go now...we need to decide soon or we'll be waiting for half term

LifeOfKate · 19/08/2011 12:49

Thanks Lee :o

I was expecting quite a boring day, but a friend made a lovely picnic in the park with a birthday cake etc, so it turned out to be a really nice day in the end :) Also I didn't give birth, so that was good :o I am actually less fed up now than I was before (although am still highly irritated by the pestering I am getting from other people Angry), I think now I know there is an end in sight, I'm quite happy for now :)

Blatherskite · 19/08/2011 16:05

We had a picnic in the park today for my friend's little boy's 2nd birthday. And friend with new baby turned up and I got a cuddle!! He's 6 days old!!

Still not got a name though so we're just calling him 'baby'. Any suggestions for a brother for Olivia that I can pass on?

LifeOfKate · 19/08/2011 21:07

Blathers - we're having enough trouble picking a name for ours, so I have no suggestions, sorry! I need a cuddle with a new baby, I've heard it can bring on labour!

Funnily enough, they love Oliver but have (very sensibly I feel) vetoed it.

There's another baby Andrew in the family too. I suggested Alex obvisouly Wink

We tried sex and pineapple when I wanted Alex out. Neither worked! I've heard of trying jogging and bouncing on one of those birthing balls....

LifeOfKate · 20/08/2011 19:58

I'm actually no longer bothered, I'm booked in for induction on Monday morning and had quite a good experience when I was induced with Noah, so am quite happy if it comes to that :)

LifeOfKate · 20/08/2011 20:04

Sorry, keep forgetting this is the thread to talk about Noah and not about the new addition!!
Noah had his first haircut today :o I was a bit worried in case they took too much off and he stopped looking like my baby, but it's not too bad and looks a lot neater now, it was starting to get in his eyes. We took him to the barbers in the IL's village, the barber is lovely and kept grinning and waving at Noah while we were waiting, so by the time Noah was in the chair, he was as good as gold and hardly even moved his head :o And all for the bargain price of £2 :o
