New thread Xmas Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/07/2011 21:37

Ha! Some nurse I am... can't even stomach giving him his injections, he has to do it himself!

How do you manage posting in a different name blathers?

I couldnt do it! People seemed to dislike my name. I got called a twat! A TWAT! lol I think I get away with being particualrly twat like with this name because it has come to be expected! Wink

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 12/07/2011 21:48

Injections! Don't you have to be trained to give injections? Surely they don't let just anyone go about stabbing poeple with needles!

Patrick would faint the second he got the needle out. I had to go with him when he got his Chicken pox jab 'cause he's such a wimp when it comes to needles.

I keep forgetting I'm using this name and getting all confused when what I've written shows as being posted by TheDeathlyMarshmallows not me :) I've not been called a twat but it's somehow not the same as when I post as Blathers. I did get told I was talking bollocks the other day which was quite funny. I'll give it till the weekend and swap back I think. It's been fun but I miss being Me.

Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/07/2011 21:52

I would of thought so too! But no they just let us come home with the pre-loaded needles and he just needs to stab himself in the stomach and press the pplunger thing.

Oh Blathers I was flamed and I was flamed goooooood. Bitches. lol

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/07/2011 21:55

I was going to link it but theyve deleted my thread!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/07/2011 21:56

FFS

All I said was

Voldemort dies!

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 13/07/2011 10:03

Ah, igmore them. If they had read the books, they'd know he dies already and if they haven't read the books they've missed half the story anyway!

It was AIBU! Grin

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 13/07/2011 14:25

I was gutted that I found out what happened at the end of Sixth Sense before I saw it too. As Lee says you'd have to be living under a rock to not know/be able to guess that Voldermort dies though! Since when has the baddie ever won in a Warner Bros film?

I've just booked Catherine's birthday party Grin I know it's early but her birthday is on a Saturday this year - the last Saturday before Christmas - so I figured that if I didn't book it now, I'd not get anywhere as they'd all be booked with Christmas parties. Just got to fill in the forms and pay the deposit to secure the date now. I can have the hall from 11 so I'm thinking an hour to set up, 2 hours for the party and another hour to get everyone out and clean up... I think that's what we did for Alex's but I can't remember. Sound about right do you think?

I'm thinking I might do a teddy bears picnic so will have to keep my eye out for picnic blankets etc at the end of the Summer when they're going cheap.

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 13/07/2011 14:31

ABF - a parcel just arrived for Alex. My brother has sent him more LEGO!! There's an application form for the LEGO club in the box. Shall I get Alex to put it in an envelope for Jake?

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 13/07/2011 22:18

Hi all

hope you are all ok. Great news on paul being home ABF. And can't believe they called you a twat! As you said, surely the real fans have read the books and know the outcome of HP!! I don't hold with these Jonny come latelys who have just seen the films! ha ha ha!

Had a crappy few days. the saga of my dad continues. He was rearrested last friday and charged with GBH (without intent) and then was up before the magistrates today. He has pleaded guilty as he had admitted all along that he did snap and hit her, but that he immediately regretted it and didnt intend it to turn out like it did. Anyway, he's pleaded guilty and has to go before the crown court next month for sentencing. His solicitor has said that there is a good chance that he'll get a custodial sentence. I am so :( with it all. My dad is a total idiot and should not have hit her, but they were both leathered Hmm and my step mum was trying to kick the door in after this barny that they'd had at the pub. My step mum is bonkers anyway, and not in a funny ha ha way and we've never had a great relationship, but that doesn't change the severity of the situation. It is a total mess and i just feel so sorry that it has turned out like this. it makes our family sound so awful when i write it on here, but we really are a normal family (current situation excepted.)
My DB went with DDad to the court today and he said as they left the local rag were there sticking a camera in his face. Prior to dad being charged, they printed the same story, based on minimal facts, regurgitated three times over several weeks. It will be in there tomorrow I think so that will be lovely for everyone involved including my grandparents, who are both in their 80s.
Grim.

Anyway, other than that, everything is good. Anna is doing really well and her speech is coming on a treat. She is definitely getting a little personality!

Find out about job this week probably too. OOOOOOOh the fun never ends! Let's get that meet up sorted soon! Wink

AmazingBouncingFerret · 14/07/2011 20:57

Ohh Ethel, I'm sorry about the situation, it must be so stressful for you. Sad

Elizabeth speech is getting really good now bless her. Personality=little madam! Grin

Blathers, the lego application would be great! Thank you! Smile

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 15/07/2011 07:05

Yes agree. Personality does = little madam!! Ha ha ha!
Up at bloody 630 this morning as DH unintentionally woke A when he left for work... Grrrrrr. And was up til about 1am last night fixing out pc, which went bang yesterday. What a week!!

Hoping she's zonked after swimming this morning and then we can BOTH have a sleep!!! Grin

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 15/07/2011 08:15

Looks like the little madam personality is a popular one - Catherine learnt to stamp her little foot in temper yesterday!! No idea where she got it from but whispers it's ever so cute. I should have been stern when she stood there all teeny, tiny and cross faced, putting so much effort into stamping her little foot into the carpet but it was so adorable, I couldn't help laughing Grin

Will be stern today. Promise. Hmm

Newest word here is "juice". She loves those innocent smoothies and came running up when I opened the fridge this morning shouting "juice, juice" which is much better than the non-distinct whine we used to get.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Elthel. Fingers crossed the judge sees the daftness of it all and lets him off without or at least with a very short sentence.

I'll get the LEGO application form in the post today ABF.

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 15/07/2011 16:08

You made it into the roundup ABF! :)

I know it's a bit OTT but the hall down the road is so handy and cheap and is home to multiple clubs/groups so I knew if I didn't book it soon, someone else would have it for thier christmas party. Blush

I haven't thought too much about it. Maybe have a teddy bears picnic? I can borrow picnic rugs from friends (they're hardly going to be using them in December are they) or maybe buy some in the sales and then just do easy-peasy picnic type buffet for food. I've got a freind who runs a company that rents out bouncy castles and I'm sure he's got one that would fit into the hall so maybe have one of those? We did arty-crafty type stuff and colouring when we had Alex's 2nd birthday in the same place so maybe something like that on a little table? Nothing Christmas-sy that's for sure :)

I saw an advert for Toboganning parties which I thought might be good for Alex's birthday next year Grin The one down point about staying in touch with all the ladies from my Antenatal group is that they obviously all have birthdays very close together - 7 of them within 8 weeks - so it gets tough some years not to just re-do the same party week after week.

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/07/2011 20:10

Ethelred, that is a really difficult situation. Hope it all works itself out for you all.

Can confirm the little madam personalilty is also the favoured one here. My dad got back from NZ today and when playing in the garden she was fully dictating which paving square he had to stand on and when!!!

More words starting to appear from Imogen now - for the first time today she said "mummy"! I cried this morning when she kept saying it, really concentrating and looking all proud of herself. I thought she had forgotten, then when at my parents I went inside and she was saying "mummy, where?" and then looking for me which was very cute!

Her sleep seems to have taken a turn for the worse, although when she wakes up and cries, it isn't really for any reason that we can see. She either doesn't want to be picked up and just wants you to stay in the room for a bit, but then screams as soon as you leave whether you stay for a few seconds or an hour, or she wants to be picked up, bought downstairs and then have her grobag taken off and to play even though she is so tired. In this situation the minute you pick her up she starts laughing, like she has got her own way! I don't think she is being manipulative on purpose or anything, am wondering if habit now, so this week with DH away I have left her for quite long periods of time - she cries, then stops for a minute, then starts again, then stops. Tonight she has been doing it for about 40 minutes and just seems now to have finally stopped. Am I being really mean?

Blathers - I am the same giggling at Imogen when she stamps her feet, or gives me the scowl/glare look. Sometimes though it then makes her giggle - she is just like me, I try to be angry with DH sometimes and then he makes me giggle!!!

Lee - am v impressed at the speech!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 15/07/2011 21:15

MrsH you're not beng meam at all. I leave Elizabeth to cry if I know it's purely because she wants to be up and out.
She has never cried longer than 5 minutes though, she usually gets bored and goes to sleep.

Aww another roundup eh? Shucks! Grin

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 15/07/2011 21:27

It's not mean Mrs H. If it's bedtime, it's bedtime and if she's crying for a bit and then waiting for a reaction then I'd go for her trying her luck at getting up again rather than being distressed. Unfortunately it gets no better. Alex was asking why he had to go to bed tonight because he wasn't tired and he wanted to stay up and play. 5 minutes after being put to be, he was fast asleep :)

I'm feeling mean tonight too. I made a lovely dinner (as those on FB will have seen :) ) and Catherine refuse to eat any more than a couple of bites. She then sat pointing at the fridge and crying wanting her yogurt. I refused to give it to her Sad She can't live on nothing but yogurt and she's getting worse and worse at picking at dinner then demanding one so we're going to have to stop them for a while until she learns that she's got to eat the dinner first. She's so tiny though, I worry about her going to bed with nothing but her milk - and I'm a bit concerned that she might be up earlier in the morning because she's hungry.

She begs to get in her highchair at mealtimes and she obviously hungry - I just need her to eat more than yogurt

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/07/2011 21:52

Thank you! She did eventually go to sleep and is now snoring away... Although she did wail off and on for about 40 mins. Every time I think i'd better go in she stops for a few mins, so I stop and carry on, then she started up again!

I don't think you're being mean about food either, hopefully she'll just get better with it very soon once she realises that a it is yummy and b she'll be hungry if she doesn't eat it!

Thanks you foe making me feel less mean!
