Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Aw, I'm getting slightly damp eyed at the thought of him being that pleased with our little parcel - especially as it was print outs off the internet, a pack of crayons my sister rescued from the skip at work and some buttons. Did Elizabeth like hers too? Pen friends would be brilliant! At least they'd stop complaining that they got no post then too. Grin

Are you sure about the clothes? You don't want them back to sell them or save for your sisters next one?

No help with Elizabeths paddys I'm afraid as Catherine is just as bad. Alex never stropped like she does. She had my whole family in stitches at the weekend as she did her 'Incredible Sulk' impression, gripping the edges of her highchair tray till her knuckles went white, shouting and shaking with rage while going bright green red - all because I was trying to blow her food to cool it down so she could eat it!!

Little monster got so annoyed with me on Monday because I wouldn't let her climb out and run off during her swimming lesson that she bit me! It was really hard too, the mark was still there when I went to bed that night.

She also pinches if she can't get her own way. Alex was never this bad but then i suppose as a PFB he had a lot more of my attention and I had a better chance to head the tantrums off before they got going.

I keep reminding myself that it must be very frustrating to not be able to tell anyone what you want and that she must be due a developmental leap soon so her language can catch up. It'll be better when she can talk a little better.

Right?

Ah but 'well out of Toddlerhood' means 'much closer to Puberty' and I think I'm dreading that more - you can't strap them into a buggy and get on with your day with a Teenager :)

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/07/2011 20:21

Blathers I'm gonna force get Jake to draw a thank you picture to Alex. What sort of thing is he into? Does he still like octonauts?

Elizabeth has finally got her room decorated for the first time in her life.
Against all my beliefs and wishes it is not just pink it is PINK

Seriously it looks like someone has thrown up pepto bismo all over the walls...

Blatherskite · 01/07/2011 20:59

His obsession with Octonauts seems to have faded since we got Sky. Now he loves Tom and Jerry. Or bikes or volcanoes. Odd child :)

Catherine's bedroom is the same off white as the rest of the house and she has Alex's gender neutral bedding and curtains too. Only the vast array of pink dollies and bunnies make it obvious that it's a girls room. I'm sure it'll be pink before long though Wink Can't be as bad as my sisters room which got painted deep, fuscia pink - when she was 18!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/07/2011 21:05

Yeah Jake's old yellow and green jungle theme bedding looks very odd amongst all the PIIINNK

My laptop has died. Sad Well I should say the power supply has gone. So i'm on Paul's work laptop and it's weird.

Blatherskite · 01/07/2011 21:27

Alex had the cream "Teddies Wash Day" stuff from mothercare so i guess we could paint her room pink and it'd look OK. I've only just got round painting the whole house off white though so I'm not doing it now. Makes patch ups so much easier as 1 can does the whole house :)

I'll be heartbroken when my Netbook dies. Patrick bought it for me so I could MN in the evening when he takes over the PC. Just watching the TV without having it on the sofa arm feels very odd these days. Will you be getting a new one?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/07/2011 21:28

Yeah will have to order a new one. Paul is in hospital on sunday so I can carry on using his. Although I probably be at my parents house more often so can just use their desktop.

Blatherskite · 01/07/2011 21:35

Is this for his rescheduled op? How are you doing? Not worrying too much I hope.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/07/2011 21:37

I have broke out into several stress spots on my face but havent started panicking yet. TBH I havent had time to. With having to work i've not been able to dwell on it. It'll be a different story when we get to the hospital though!

Blatherskite · 01/07/2011 21:48

He'll be fine ABF, I'm sure of it. We've all got our fingers crossed so he has to be Wink

Look forward to next week when it's all over and done.

Blatherskite · 03/07/2011 08:56

Good Luck for today ABF xx

LifeOfKate · 03/07/2011 21:16

Good luck for Paul, ABF, thinking of you xx

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 05/07/2011 20:39

Hello all. Just catching up! xxx

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 05/07/2011 21:07

Hope Paul's op has gone well ABF. I have been watching your posts on FB. And just to say, Anna is also up there in the tantrum stakes. Most of the time she is a little sunbeam but when she is not happy, boy do we know it. That nursery rhyme, 'there was a little girl who had a little curl...' is just her to an absolute tee. She went to bed tonight just in her jama bottoms cos she wouldn't put her top on. Just wouldn't.

Had a lovely weekend at home this weekend, just the three of us. It was great to not be going off somewhere and packing up the car etc etc. Love seeing friends, but is nice to just be together sometimes. Have got a couple of weekends at home coming up, so pleased about that. And then got my friend's hen do coming up in a couple of weeks, the one i have beEn helping to organise. Am looking forward to it, but so hoping it all goes well!

Oh god yes. such a weight has been lifted now! Am dreaming of my holiday next year! Was thinking of center parcs but am thinking of renting a cottage somewhere in either Scotland of Lake District.

My HP name is stolen or so my sister told me on a thread last night... It is hers apparantly she made it up when we wer eon a HP chat room many moons ago. I seem to vaguely remember it but since I was the one typing I am claiming all rights to it! Grin

LifeOfKate · 11/07/2011 16:33

Hi all. So glad he's coming home tomorrow, ABF :o

I am recovering from a stomach bug. Thankfully my lovely MIL has picked Noah up this morning (I'm picking him up again tomorrow :o) and I have spent the day lazing on the sofa and not expending energy hauling him down from sofas/bookcases/footstools etc Hmm
The bug is not particularly bad, but having innards that feel like they are in a washing machine is doubly unpleasant when there is a 35 week fetus doing a lot of wriggling on them as well Hmm I got next to no sleep last night as as soon as I found a comfy position, I kept getting bouts of serious heartburn!
Anyway, sorry for the moan! Hope you're all well :)

MrsHerculePoirot · 11/07/2011 21:03

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been a bit AWOL recently, but end of term is manic with work. Only this week and next and then I'm done, then you'll probably be sick of me posting!!!

ABF/Siriusly - so glad that Paul's op went well and he is coming home for you. Think you should definitely have a lovely holiday to celebrate!!!

Poor you Kate, that does not sound like fun. Glad you've got a lovely MIL to help you out thought and hope you feel better for all that rest.

Not a lot of news here, Imogen has just discovered climbing up ladder like things and all of a sudden has an interest in opening drawers and cupboards, having never really been that bothered before! She just never, ever stops unless she is asleep she is completly manic. Still can't say very much, but somehow is VERY bossy. Lots of hugs and kisses though which is nice and luckily my mum and dad are back from NZ again ready for the summer holidays to help out with non-stop playing!

Promise not to say away so long next time...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/07/2011 17:31

Hello all.

Being a "nurse" is bloody knackering!
Elizabeth is all ill aswell and wouldnt sleep in her cot last night, so me and her were all scrunched up on my side of the bed. I'm in bloody agony!

TheDeathlyMarshmallows · 12/07/2011 21:20

We had Alex in with us over the weekend and he ended up sarfished in the middle while we clung uncomfortably onto the edges of the bed too. It's amazing how such small people can take up so much room!

How's Paul doing now he's home? Better for having his favourite nurse on call I bet :)
