That is weird... I am impressed at her ability to find chocolate though. I have just hunted through my kitchen and I have none that I can find. Send her round here...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 23/06/2011 20:34

Ahh yes but this was grotty horrible chocolate, she would of still eaten it though given half the chance. I need to educate her in the ways of chocolate. She can teach me how to sniff out chocolate and I can teach her in the fine art of quality chocolat
If Johnny Depp could make an appearance that would be just absolutely fine and dandy... Grin

Got the package Blathers! There's so many. I'll take good care of them and when Catherine is ready for them you can have them back. Posted your package today because I forgot to do it on Friday. Blush

Blatherskite · 28/06/2011 20:13

Glad it arrived OK. SIl gives me loads so we certainly won't miss a few pairs of jamas. Keep hold of them till Elizabeth has grown out of them :)

AmazingBouncingFerret · 28/06/2011 20:50

Jake had full on tantrum though when Elizabeth had something arrive in the post addressed to her!

Have promised him that he'll receive a letter soon, so any ideas for an imaginary letter for a 4 year old?! Grin

Blatherskite · 28/06/2011 21:38

Alex and Jake must be so alike! Alex had a massive strop last week because he never gets post too!! One post on Facebook though and he's had letters and drawings and postcards and even some LEGO sent to him! I love my friends :)

What does he like? I'll get Alex to write him a letter, it's about time he returned the favour

Blatherskite · 28/06/2011 21:39

Ooh and while you're here...have you ever been to Twin lakes ABF? Is it any good?

Alex is a member of the LEGO club and loves getting the magazine :) I think we get one about every 3 months. I've just signed him up to get his Cbeebies magazine through the post too so he'll get something every week. I think they're doing 5 copies for £5 at the moment but I'd already done the subscription by the time I saw that. I've got 3 months for £19 I think. Saves about 50p a copy and will see him through till just after School starts at which point he'll be doing writing practice and maths there so might not be so interested anymore.

I've not taken mine to Alton Towers or LEGOland yet so Twin Lakes might still hold some excitement :). I'm trying to organise a day out with an old friend from Doncaster and his family and we're trying to find somewhere in the middle. Melton Mowbray would work because it's about an hour and a half for each of us whereas LEGOland would mean a much longer journey for them as it's South of us. My Sister has been raving about it but she lives in Melton so doesn't have the journey and only has an 11 month old who's still happy to do pretty much anything - our kids are older and more jaded Wink Between us, we've got a 7, 5, 4 and 1.5 year old. We went to Twycross when we met up last year. I've looked at Warwick Castle but the reviews for kids as young as ours wasn't good.

We definitely want to take Alex to LEGOland though as he adores LEGO. Will just be on our own though I think.

Surprised Gullivers Kingdom was good. Gullivers Land is in MK and it is awful - although I only ever went before I had kids (we took my friends kids when she visited) which maybe wasn't the best way to try it. We've been to the Dinosaur bit and the Splashzone with Alex though, neither of which I was particularly impressed with. Pity, because it's about 4 roundabouts away down the grid road and we could bike there.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/06/2011 08:50

Never been Twin Lakes but Jake loves staring at the map on the little leaflet of it that he picked up at the garden centre. He loves maps absolutely facinated by them!
The national Trust Belton House is very near Twin Lakes and is a great day out. Lovely parkland for the children to run around in, woods, lake and beautiful gardens. We like going when the daffodils are out because there are literally hundreds of them. But the bit Jake goes mad for is the park in there. I've never seen a park like it, It's HUGE. Treetop slides, climbing frames, roundabouts, ziplines, swings and a little train that takes you up and down the whole length of it. I only have to say Belton House and Jake goes mental, demanding we go there immediately!

Might sign up for the lego thing, Jake's not that bothered by lego but he'll still like getting something in the post.
Blathers, Jake's first and most of the time, only love is dinosaurs

After Dinosaurs, Lizzy, Daddy, and Blaise I come in a very lonely 5th. Sad Wink

Blatherskite · 29/06/2011 11:49

Here's the link to the LEGO club thing It's the Junior magazine that Alex gets and he really likes it. There are usually colouring things and games in there as well as pictures of LEGO things other kids have made and ideas for models to make. Even if he doesn't like LEGO, he might enjoy it.

If Jake likes Dinosaurs, he might like the Dinosaur bit in Gullivers Land. Alex isn't too bothered so it all passed him by a bit. If you do come, you have to let me know so we can come down and say Hi though :)

Just putting together a letter for Jake, hoping to get it posted this afternoon...

Blatherskite · 29/06/2011 11:50

Belton House sounds good by the way, I'll have a look

Jakes letter is posted. I popped in a bag of Buttons (hope that's OK!) then remembered Elizabeth is a chocolate monster so put in another bag for her too. Hope he likes it Grin

Maybe we'll wait till we know what the weather is likely to be like and then pick either Twin Lakes or Belton House depending. Looks like we'll need a picnic for both so it should just be a case of adjusting the Sat Nav on the day. If we can't do either, I'll pop over to my Sister's house and play with my niece :)

Your review of Warwick castle sounds much like all the others I've seen Lee - ie that it's gone downhill since Madame Tussauds bought it and started trying to turn it into a theme park. The rides are rubbish apparently. It's a shame because Alex would love the castle itself and the knights and it doesn't seem like there is very much of that left. Mum managed to talk very atheist me into taking the children to the Church Strawberry Fair while we were back home at the weekend. She's not particularly religious either but it was the Church my Grandma was a warden for and since my Grandparents died, it's become a sentimental thing. Alex thought the old Church was a castle though and loved sitting in the entrance porch pretending to guard it. Very cute.

Our parcel arrived today ABF. I love the little pink tutu :)

I'll keep it all safe for you.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 30/06/2011 21:29

They're not a loan Blathers, I don't need them back! Smile

Jake received his post today, took it into nursery when I went to collect him. It was so funny to watch him walking around, chest all puffed up proudly while he carried it! Grin

I'll get him to write a thank you letter back, it'd be cool if they could become little penfriends!
