Totally's original thread was for TTC after MC. It continued long after Totally herself graduated, and is still going strong. Totally's grads was set up as a thread for pregnancy post MC - i.e. anyone who graduated from Totally's thread and anyone else who had experienced MC and was now pregnant. It, too, is still going strong.

Now, more and more of us have graduated from Totally's grads - including LouiseSH, whose Georgie was born asleep. I suppose that makes us postgrads. We have travelled together for a long time and would like to stay in touch, but the pregnancy post MC thread is starting to get very big, and I think it should be allowed to keep its focus on pregnancy post MC. May it be as wonderful a place for support for current "members" as it was for us.

So this thread is a place for us to keep in touch, share experiences, and provide support.

(This is the first time ever I'm starting a thread - hope it works out...)

Darling girl XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

HappyGirl1 · 10/04/2011 22:17

awh Louise that sounds like a lovely idea. Thinking of you lots xx

clareanna · 11/04/2011 21:28

Evening all- how are you doing?

Good news- got 5.5 hours sleep in a row last night!
Bad news- it actually felt like I got up at 4.30am as that's when t work up for a feed, took 45 mins to settle, and then ds1 woke up at 6! Argh

I'm taking t to the doctors tomorrow, he is progressively getting more and upset during feeds and does this awful coughing. I want to check the cough isn't a chest infection, and if it's reflux see if I can get something to help Sad it's like a switch has been flicked and he's gone from being a happy content baby to a screamy cross baby who seems to be in real pain when he's trying to feed.

northerngoldilocks · 11/04/2011 22:26

Louise the garden ornament is a lovely idea especially if you move house. Thinking of you xx

Clareanna that sounds stressful- I hate it when N whines whilst he's feeding as it's generally the one thing that calms him so it's horrible when it doesn't work. Hope you can work out some answers.

I think bf is getting a bit better for us although he's still not feeding for long enough ( had yellow foamy poo tonight so think that's too much foremilk) but it's less painful when he feeds. He's still worse on one side though. Am taking him to q cranial Osteopath tmrw morning- will see if that helps with the feeding at all. He also seems to have a really active startle reflex so wondering if it can help with that. Am sceptical but will see.

Hope you've all been enjoying this lovely weather- think my walking for miles each day is about to become less pleasant as the weather changes

clareanna · 12/04/2011 10:17

Doc thinks it's reflux plus a bad cold. Need to give expressed feeds for the rest of the day with infant gaviscon, so he realises that feeding doesn't hurt, then reintroduce boob with a small top up of expressed milk and gaviscon. Poor little chap!!

louisesh · 12/04/2011 12:21

Thanks HappyGirl1 hope you re ok? XX

Hi Northerngoldilocks Thanks XXX
Hi everyone X

Gi1da · 12/04/2011 12:31

Aw poor mite! Glad doc's seen him Clarea and you've a remedy plan. It's horrible not knowing what's wrong isn't, or not being able to tell them that they'll be ok, or what you are doing is helping. R has his second jabs today which was horrible at the time as he looked at me with a screwed up red face and tears, but then he got distracted and forgot about it instantly! Of course I still felt like an evil hag.

Northern really pleased for you that things are improving. Have seen some very good reviews for cranial osteo on MNet, will be very interested to hear how you get on.

Louise sounds like you made it a very special day. The ornament is a lovely idea too. Maybe you could plant (or have in a pots) something around it that will flower in the autumn? <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.rbge.org.uk/assets/images/gardens/edinburgh/Season_highlights/1.1.2.9%2520Cyclamen%2520hederifolium.jpg&imgrefurl=www.rbge.org.uk/the-gardens/edinburgh/seasons-highlights/september-garden-highlights/september-garden-highlights-archive&usg=__zxR52d6AwBRDWpnnzrQZa2ARXqA=&h=525&w=700&sz=155&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=tG6FgCf_2r_NrM:&tbnh=130&tbnw=183&ei=bjOkTfGpC8HZ4wbWt5i4Cg&prev=/images%3Fq%3DCyclamen%2Bhederifolium%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D577%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=982&vpy=276&dur=2347&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=163&ty=216&oei=UjOkTfamCYGh8QOc_vW5Dw&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">These are pretty. I planted (in a big tub) a magnolia stellata for Little Bean which flowers in spring.

Constant fist chewing here so have ordered a Sophie giraffe. Hopefully it will get here quick, and will be better for him to gnaw than his fingers or my clothes. And it will amuse me as it reminds me of lap giraffes which I love.

PS Grin at J's nocturnal trumping. Maybe she and Ren should get married one day, then they can happily trump away together!

O Buffs where art thou?

Gi1da · 12/04/2011 12:34

Blush that took me since 10.30 to type between jiggling, feeding and hanging nappies out. Missed Louise in passing [waves] How do? Smile

Gi1da · 12/04/2011 13:17

OMG. He woke as I finshed that and has not stopped SCREAMING since. Have managed to get 2.5ml pink stuff down him but still howling. Not helping it is day 3 since last poo. Am comforting and rocking him but I need earplugs. Sad

Gi1da · 12/04/2011 13:45

And clingfilm.

Redheadgal · 12/04/2011 14:23

Gilda - you poor thing. And Ren too. We have our second lot of injections in about 30 minutes - ouch!!! I have calpol at the ready and DH to hold both of our hands.

Clare ditto. Sounds a hard day for both of you.

I have a quick question - C is almost out of her carry cot (we have about 2 inches left and she's thrashing about in it quite a lot) but she's only 3 months old so not really ready for the pushchair (especially as it is forward facing). The whole system was bought from my cousin for £100 so we're prepared to get something a bit better (although still second hand preferably). I've had serious pram envy and want to know what works. Obviously we don't need the tiny newborn option but we need an in-between option for a very long 3 month old. Any ideas?

Meita · 12/04/2011 15:43

Just a quickie.
Louise thinking of you lots.
RHG I'd get the Bugaboo Bee. As in, if I were to buy another buggy right now, I would buy that one. I have serious pram envy for the Bee. (Having a second-hand Frog myself). It's suitable from birth, but doesn't look like a proper pram with carrycot, more like a pushchair. It folds in one piece. It's lightweight and manoeuvrable. It looks fancy, and comes in great colours.
Unfortunately it's also pricey :( Maybe you could pick one up at a reasonable price from e-bay?
I am pleased with my Bugaboo Frog (though the Bee would be better ;) )and have only ever heard good things from Bugaboo users.
ClareA hope your regimen works! fx

Hi Reds! Good luck with the ouches. Thankfully he fell asleep, just hoping he feels better after a rest.

Can't help much with prams much as this is my first, but I am loving my eBay bargainous bugaboo frog. Really nippy to push and I can get it up the steps to the house ok. Um, still haven't tried to get it in the back of the car though. He still just fits in the cot part, I think he's about 62cms.

Oo waking. Wish me luck.....

Muser · 12/04/2011 15:49

I have a Bugaboo Bee and love it. It's light enough that I can carry it up stairs, very manevourable for getting round shops/on buses and nice and compact. Mine is also bright yellow and cheers me up no end.

Gi1da · 12/04/2011 15:51

Grin snap Meita! I also look at the bees with a bit of envy. Waiting for the new (2010) version ones to start coming round secondhand.

Meita · 12/04/2011 16:51

Gi1da that's exactly what I'm doing too. Our Frog is an ebay acquisition too. Didn't get the Bee then because I didn't want to get a pre-2010 edition (I don't know why not exactly) and the 2010 edition had only just come out, ergo not available second hand yet.

Hello ladies :)

Nice to see the sun shining, bit chilly in the park earlier though, I had ds's (7) jacket wrapped around my feet.

I have put a pic for those interested on my profile of little miss P. She is being a complete angel, wakes up once in the night, (long may that continue but won't kid myself its forever), I have tried encouraging her to feed twice in the night if she stirs but she's having none of it, so have stopped now. she's in with us so makes night feeds alot easier. .

Been discharged by mw today at day 11, she regained her birth weight by day 6 and has gained 6 more ozs since, Dh worked out that she'll be 43 stone by age 13 if she keeps going Grin

Enjoying the easter hols, stress free mornings, dh has been at work on and off since about day 6 so more or less back to normality in our house, he works away once or twice a week mnost weeks and this week he was away Sunday and again thursday. Can mean long days for me but am used to it now.

Haven't caught up with whole thread but louise the garden ornament is a lovely idea. Hope your pg is going well. Think of you often.

clareanna glad you have a poa in place, reflux is a horrible condition for littlies. Hopefully the gaviscon will help.

gilda hopefully he's calmed down now, poor little thing.

I have an infinity, it has a 14in wide carrycot, last dd was in it till she was nearly 10 mths, then the pushchair is parent facing, can pick them up cheaply too cos they're not high fashion.

Hope everyone is well. :) x

DorcasB · 12/04/2011 19:22

Thanks TMT and Gilda, I do feel proud to have got this far with the bf and i'm glad I stuck it out, although it has been a long, hard road to get here. There's a documentary on bf tonight which I shall watch with interest. (assuming Little D lets me! Thank god for sky plus!)
Clareanna, sorry to hear T has been having troubles. Little D has also been suddenly suffering terribly with pain when feeding and I had wondered if it was reflux as she is quite sicky too. So hard to know! I tried a syringe with the gripewater but no success. Most of it ended up all over my DP! Is there any reason why I can't give it to her in a bottle, even though it is a small amount? At least she knows what to do with a bottle!
Hugs to LouiseSH, the garden ornament sounds like a lovely idea.
NorthernG, hope all goes well at cranial Osteo, I too have heard great things about them.
Waves to everyone else x

Unbuffy · 12/04/2011 19:32

I am here, lurky lurking.

Hugs to all.

DorcasB · 12/04/2011 19:36

Cross posted, missed Lia's message (it's taken hours to finish my last post). Hi, good to see you here! You sound very relaxed and in control!
Also Muser, meant to say I too have a yellow bee and love it, especially the cheerful colour. Not seen many other yellows though so had been wondering if it was an unpopular choice!

DorcasB · 12/04/2011 19:36

Hi Unbuffy! Hope you're well x

toomuchteaching · 12/04/2011 20:12

Quick TMI question... so, I wore white knicks today for the first time in ages and would 12 weeks post birth be a significantly excessive amount of time for things to still be brown? Sorry, gross... but totally unexpected!

Hope the osteopathy helps Northern and the Gaviscon Clarea. Trumps still very much a-go-go here Gi1da, hope R has recovered from his jabs, J's were yesterday but because of the Easter hols DH took her for me, so less embarrassing crying in the surgery, from me at least.

Lovely to see you Lia and glad you're ok Dorcas, I'm really surprised the syringe didn't work, but can't see any reason why a bottle wouldn't be fine.

Nothing to add RHG except I love our iCandy peach.

Wishing you all quiet evenings, knowing full well ours won't be!

Muser · 12/04/2011 21:29

I see the occasional yellow Dorcas, but more of the neutral ones I think. Or red, I've seen a few reds. We dithered over what colour to get, I'm glad we went yellow.
