A starter for 10 on our Sept 2010 babies as their first Christmas comes nearer! Can't believe we're there already; I was barely pregnant last Xmas!

chelle hope so coz he doesn't much like it at the mo! Xmas Grin
Oh jodey poor you! A good thing that dreams mean something totally different from their content. I think it's more about how it makes you feel....? Hmm
I had awful nightmares after my csec and Hopefully you won't have any more!

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 12:54

Also, sadly my most significant memories of him as a teeny baby are of him in neo with a mask on Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 06/12/2010 12:54

I'm between Camridge and Norwich.

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 12:57

I'm a Leeds girl! We should find who has the best Turkish Baths locally and go there for some luxury! Oh no.... LOs can't do that! will re think! Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 06/12/2010 13:07

I'm in Birmingham, and so is Jodey I think. We could host a meet up seeing as Birmingham is pretty much in the middle of the country and all trains seem to go via here Xmas Grin

I've taken Orlaith to the german market twice and she's loved it with all the lights and things going on. But people have been so rude, making comments about how bad it is to bring a baby there. Why?! I genuinely don't know what is wrong with it. Is it because I've had her out naked in the snow drinking beer?! Xmas Grin

(seriously enjoying the christmas emoticons! Does the f stand for father chrsitmas?]

JodeyLea · 06/12/2010 13:10

I'm Birmingham x

Would be fab to meet up with everyone x

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 13:11

Oh I love my neighbours! Just found a cupcake in a box on my door step! She walks all 3 of her hounds and leaves me little pressies every now and again to say thanks for the odd dog walk! Xmas Smile
Oh..... not doing well with work today. You are all more fun! Xmas Smile

Chelle1986 · 06/12/2010 13:11

saoirse - I would say it stands for "festive"! hehe.xx

Chelle1986 · 06/12/2010 13:12

Going to feed the hunger monster! Back later!! Miss you all already!!hahaha....

saoirse86 · 06/12/2010 13:15

Festive, of course, what an idiot I am!

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 13:22

jodey how do you get Harlyn to do 8oz??? Jack just won't take more than 4 and it's so, so annoying! Xmas Envy

JodeyLea · 06/12/2010 13:37

He has always been a hungry boy. I suppose every child is different. Harlyn has always slept through the night (apart from the odd rare occasion) so I suppose he always drinks more during the day. I think this is what messed up my bf, because he wasn't waking up in the night for a feed so i produced less but couldn't keep up with his high feeding demands during the day. Every morning my breasts would be so full and my pj top would be soaking. I ended up giving formula top ups. I now only BF 2/3 times a day and he is always hungry about 2 hours after. He also has reflux so he is sick a lot which again means he gets hungrier quicker. I can't even wind him in the middle of a feed because he screams if i take the bottle (or breast) off him. I just have to follow his lead and wait for him to finish. I've always worried that we over fed him but I just couldn't get away with feeding him less than he wants to take. I've also just changed his formula to Cow & Gate Confort due to his Colic but this has made his reflux worse has you can't add in the Gaviscon so at the mo I am constantly changing him due to wet sicky clothes. I must constantly stink of baby milk sick. At least he is in far less discomfort though.

What formula do other people use? I have found SMA to give him really bad tummy gripes. I have heard that C&G is easier on their digestive system.

[fbear] 9 weeks & 3 days

sassy34264 · 06/12/2010 13:42

I'm in Chorley Lancashire. I am in the first stages of organising babies christening. We have decided on 6th feb cos it the first sunday after jan payday. It also just happens to be DP's birthday as well, so he will get a party as well. Anyway, the guest list is beyond 60 so far- as the mantra seems to be the more the merrier- so you would all be welcome to come. It might be too far for some and a middle ground might be a better solution for all........but the offer is there for you anyway. x

mapletrees · 06/12/2010 14:15

Aw, sassy, that's lovely. If we were nearer we would definitely come. Xmas Grin

cinnamon, if you ever fancy a trip down to Cambridge....

sassy34264 · 06/12/2010 14:26

And you would be more than welcome mapletrees. :)
Not sure if it would be the best idea for me though, cos everyone would be sat there talking and getting to know each other and i would have to mingle.......plus DP/DH's would be there! Xmas Wink

Can also forsee a problem with meeting in a town/city though....how would we all walk down the street with our prams and where would we go into?

cinnamongreyhound · 06/12/2010 14:58

My DH works at the university so I sometimes go in with him at weekends, worked there myself until I started Childminding 2 years ago. Bit tricky with all my different children as I have 4 under 4 most days! But if you fancy the tribe for a couple of hours or fancy a trip to sunny Brandon (as DH calls it!) sounds good to me!

It would have to be at someones house I would think sassy34264 to accomodate pushchairs and those of us with other dc, or perhaps hire a village hall Xmas Wink

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 15:23

Somewhere like a country house hotel could be good. Plenty room indoors and out and usually close to major road links. I could pick someone up at a train station if needed as we have a spare car seat...... oooo oooo oooo excited already! Xmas Grin
Jodey a 3oz and 3.5 oz on last feeds Xmas Sad Xmas Envy
So sweet sassy tho sounds as tho you'll have an even busier day than usual without all of us crashing! Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 06/12/2010 15:25

jodey I started on SMA but she had terrible wind and green poos, so the HV suggested I changed to cow and gate. That was better, but then 2 weeks ago I changed again to Hipp organic to see if that was better and it's been really good. Hardly any wind now at all.

I have our meet up planned. It's a week day and everyone comes to Birmingham and we all go to the pub I work in. It's a very nice friendly pub and it's closed till 5 so we have the run of the place, there's a massive garden and we put up the bouncy castle for the older ones (children I mean, not us older ones, well maybe). The pub's only a 10-15 minute walk from the station too, or you get the bus, or I ferry people in the car. Done!! Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 06/12/2010 15:29

Orlaith's only ever taken small amounts, usually 3-4oz, once or wtice it's been 5oz!

And we have 5 baby car seats and 2 older baby car seats in our family (just 2 babies though!)

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 15:33

Sounds like a plan saoirse What's the food like?? Xmas Grin

I just fed Jack 3oz and he's been sick about 4 times but bringing up loads of clear liquid...??? Never done it before.... Is it normal?

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 15:34

We're on Aptamil and he burps one HUGE burp straight after and that's it! So no probs with wind on that formula for us.

Chelle1986 · 06/12/2010 15:51

We're on normal Cow and Gate stage one milk. However Olly has infacol before every feed.
Was wondering actually - does anyone know when I should stop giving him infacol? Do I just stop and see or....? Unsure....! We've stopped burping him throughout the feed and now only wind at the end - much easier as he gets in such a temper when you take the bottle away.

Jodee Olly is also on 7-8 ounces every feed and has been for about 6 weeks now. Sometimes he leaves a couple of ounces though.

beadit not sure on the clear liquid? Have you been giving him cooled boiled water? If so, could be that? If not then perhaps just give NHS direct a quick ring?

Olly is asleep in his swing again. We seem to have a little routine in the day now for the most part:

-Feed every three to four hours (longer at night - 8 hours last night!! hehe!)
-Play for an hour-ish
-sit in rocker whilst mummy potters around
-in swing and sleep for hour or so before next feed.

Now just need to build getting out and about more in to that routine! But is sooooo icy! And am a danger to myself in the ice!!!

Olly 10+1

Chelle1986 · 06/12/2010 15:52

saoirse - sounds like a fab idea!

beaditAli · 06/12/2010 16:03

Don't give him any water. He threw up so, so much clear liquid and has had pooed a lot more today.......?? Xmas Confused
No idea re: infacol. Sorry sweets. Our expert friends will log on soon and help I'm sure Xmas Smile

newmum001 · 06/12/2010 16:22

beadit Grace was also throwing uo clear liquid this morning with kind of white flecks in, assuming this was milk but i couldn't quite get my head round the clear liquid bit. She's not done it since this morning so i don't know what that was!

Speaking of formula, grace is on sma first milk and takes about 8oz every 3-4 hours during the day but does tend to be windy and occasionally wakes up really crying and burps as soon as she's picked up even though we spend ages winding her after a feed. Was wondering if we should try her on something else. She's on infant gaviscon aswell.
