September 2010: windy bums, weaning starts to loom!

A starter for 10 on our Sept 2010 babies as their first Christmas comes nearer! Can't believe we're there already; I was barely pregnant last Xmas!

Just done a huge catch up. Quite of routine talk, Maia hasn´t got any sort of routine. She does sleep really well at night (12-6 most nights), but I haven´t introduced any routine for her. She tends to drop off when I put DS down at 9, but not always. Might keep track over next few days and see what she does.

DS started with a fever last night so have had a v. poorly toddler and a very awake baby today. Am knackered.

But on the good side Maia did a full triple rolly polly today!!! (front-back, back-front, and then over again).

Was interesting to read fist eating/dribbling as shes also just started that and it crossed my mind about teeth but tend to think like cinnamon they´re blamed for everything.

Could some explain how I add myself on to FB thingy.(I suddenly feel like my mother for asking that )

By the way just how many biscuits a day is too many?

patito - 1000 biscuits is too many! not one more than that is to be eaten per day!!

patito my nan always used to say that anymore than 3 at a time was greedy. I still to this day don't eat more than 3 at a sitting without feeling mega guilty!!! My nan was 5ft and 19 stone by the way but obviously didn't get that way by eating too many biscuits

cinnamon he's under strict instructions from me and all my teacher family to speak properly soon! But he's allowed to enjoy being a mentalist whilst Jack is still relatively unaware! Totally bonkers tho!

soooo soooo tired this evening, too tired to post really but thanks for all the nice comments re silly row with DH last night!

Put arlo 'to bed' fir the first time yesterday. Normally he stays down with us till we go up, bit pit him in his Moses last night at about 6.30 after a feed, with monitor on. He weirdly went for about an hour before waking up, distraught! And only way to calm him was another feed. Then did a dream feed at 10.30. The dream bit worked - he didn't open his eyes! But I don't think he fed much, compared to hus usual 10pm feed. And I'm up feeding now at 3, usually he goes a couple of hours more. Still, will try again. It was liberating to have evening to ourselves, but means DH doesn't get any time with him as not in from work until 7.30. And leaves before we get up in morning. Thinking perhaps should wait until he is home before starting bedtime eioutine so he gets to see arlo, but that messes up our dinner - cooking and eating! It's hard to fit it all in, isn't it??

Friday, hooray! Getting our Xmas tree this weekend. Was messing around with fairy lights yesterday, which arlo loved. Also had Christmas carols on and he was singing along to them! Seriously, he loves to hear singing and joins in with really long loud coos! His other new trick is walking! Hold him up in a standing position and he lifts one foot after the other and propels himself forward. It's hilarious to watch!

Good morning all, Sassy - soooo cute about the babies, my grandad used to always tell a story of when me and my twin sister were little in our side by side buggy where i turned round to Jen (my twin) and said "know humpy dumpy" and Jen said "fink so" and we proceded to recite Humpty Dumpty getting it completely wrong. He loved telling that story!

Grace is still in bed yet once again i find myself up, why the hell am i not still asleep?? She went to bed at 10pm and hasn't woken up yet!! She's so bloody unpredictable earlier on in the week she was wide awake at 4.30am!!!

On a follow-up to the FB privacy stuff: glad you tried that out, Chelle; I thought that was the case (that the posts to the group aren't visible to other DB folks) but it did need trying. But folks here need to remember that MN is very definitely not private at all, and that anyone could look at tis thread. Why should they, you might think, but people could come on it via doing a google search on key words or phrases - and we've now linked our MN nicknames to our real names in the discussions here. There's no reason it will be a problem, but people need to remember, as they let off here, that it's really not that private here either, in fact if anything it's less private than the FB group.

Comixminx Linking our names on the facebook group, people can't see that can they cos they can't see the posts?? Is that right??

I was internetless all day yesterday! I coped, just! Can't possibly comment on everything I wanted to as i caught up so I'll just give up!!

In both cases this depends on what we write in our posts, but MN is very googleable so as I've already linked the two names I've given it away already.

Ladies, ladies, ladies.....Olly went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept until.....05:30! woohoo! nine hours! and that was without a dream feed as he took a full seven ounces at 8pm. Probably a complete fluke and I will pay tonigh! lol. He then only went down at 06:00 till 07:15 so have been up since then but never mind!

Wouldn't worry too much comix/banana about anyone who is intelligent enough to link our FB group to here - its very unlikely and if they don't like what we write then tough! They shouldnt read it in the first place IMO! Hehe... Not like we're plotting a revolution or anything - just discussing our baba's and having an occasional whinge!

Was just wondering - is anyone using size 3 teats yet? Thinking am going to have to move up to them today - but wondering if you already are then why did you change? LO seems to get frustrated sometimes and is sucking so hard at times that he is turning the teat inside out! Could this mean he is ready to move up?

You are all seriously annoyingly fantastic looking. I've looked like a big mess for months now (not just since having Orlaith). That's why I have Orlaith as my profile pic!

Right this is not happening, I've missed a couple of days and there's about 6 new pages. I'm going to have to catch up later.

Orlaith's had a cold for about 11 days now but yesterday started to get worse. Every time I pick her up or put her down very gently she jumps like she dizzy or scared.

PIL's came over last night and she just started crying uncontrollably for about 4 hours. (although stopped for about 20 mins when she came to me! ). I gave her calpol because she was hot and she slept for 6 1/2 hours but then woke up every hour after that.

I'm going to try to take her to the walk-in centre today as the GP's have no appointments at all today.
