Evening ladies. Been out most of the day and its taken me most of the night to catch up on the posts! Busy bees Xmas Grin

I too was constipated and wouldn't go for days. seem to be regulating a little more now but still not back to my usual self.

As far as routines go, I so wish I could just put Harlyn down when he is tired to drift off to sleep, but he won't sleep unless he drops off on my shoulder (right shoulder; he's fussy) and then I can put him down. If I simply put him in his moses basket (which he only just about fits in) he just thrashes around and eventually starts crying.
He too is a major fist sucker and dribbler though I don't think he has any teeth coming through, he's way too young.
Did anyone find out what the clear sick was? going to do some research i think.
Anyway, it has been lovely to see all your baby pics on FB and looking forward to eventually meeting up in the new year if the Birmimgham meet goes ahead.

Almost 10 weeks (- 2 days)

JodeyLea · 08/12/2010 19:51

Birmingham rather x

bananastew · 08/12/2010 20:00

I wish we could "like" posts on here! Sassy I "like" your baby squeezing!

Am I a bad mum?? newmum if that happened to me and it does regularly I just carry on getting showered & dressed poor Olly just has to cry!

Chelle I give Olly his last bottle at 6pm then just put him to bed at 6.30pm. Sometimes he niggles a bit but just settles himself & goes to sleep. If you're worried about it being too quiet put a musical lullaby toy in his room. If you get one with lights too it'll be like the tele but more soothing!

cinnamon I agree with what you said about teething. Although I do believe they're teething from birth until their last teeth are totally through. It bugs me when Ollys crying and people say "is he hungry/cold/hot/nappy/teeth/tired" I know they're trying to help but he's 14 weeks old fgs! thats what babies do!!!

beadit I've had size 3 teats on since olly was a week old!!! the smaller ones just gave him wind or he'd fall asleep trying!

Right think I've commented on all the posts now for my own!

Shopping was crap! whoever was Xmas Envy don't be, be Xmas Grin I drove around car parks for 40 mins then gave up! I ended up in Asda Living! spent £35 on cards! felt like crying, went to pick the boys up to find mil not tapping the bloody bottle! "aww he doesn't want it" yes he does. you have to tap the bottle how many bloody times do i have to tell you, even 2 year old ds1 has told you TAP THE BOTTLE!!!!!!!!! and breath!

Please slow down on the posting, I really can't keep up! Welcome imnotperfect

MammyG · 08/12/2010 20:26

Hellew!
Welcome imnotperfect
Have requested to join the fb book and just spent an hour oogling all the lovely babas! They are all just yum! We really are so lucky. Today I met a few pals for a chinwag and had Pheobe with me. She was passed around the cafe to all the broody women and she was lapping it up. But while talking to my friend just realised all the times that she nearly wasnt here. (I had to have a viability scan in early pregnancy then was so sick and her episode when she was a few days old too) Just made me realise what a precious miracle she is. We are all so lucky

Banana Thank you so much - the boys are fab. There is 17months between them. Dressing them the same isnt often my choice - they dictate a lot of the time. When shopping I might go for same styles but different colours or vice versa. They like having the same things sometimes and other times its easier cause one always wants what the other has.

re routines I honestly think I have given birth to an angel baby! DH and I simply cannot get over her. Quite a few of my friends and family have all had babies over the past few years and Ds1 was good too (Ds2 was tough to get into sleeping properly but otherwise chilled) but she is simply exceptional! I keep waiting for something - some bout of crankiness or something and it hasnt happened! I give her a bottle at around 5pm, she always leaves 2 ounces, get her ready for bed after 6 bath/wash change and play mobile for a while. Then give her last 2 ounces, lie her in cot and walk out! I bf between 10.30 and 11.30pm. she wakes for a little feed still around 3am then comes into bed to me at 6.30. She feeds at very regular intervals during the day then. Between 10-11am, 2-3 pm then 5pm again. Im just gobsmacked - she is so pleasant and smiles all the time. She really has run away with our hearts. Think I could end up spoiling her if she stays this good to me!!

I sorted Phoebes xmas present - the boys picked out a cuddly toy and put the request in their letter to santa. We also bought a collection of the Beatrix Potter books. They are really nice and in a set. I wanted something she could keep for posterity!
More importantly what are all of you hoping to get for xmas? Hubbie is asking and I honestly dont know what to ask for?

Chelle1986 · 08/12/2010 20:56

Ok - in need of assistance

So Olly is in bed (touch wood asleep!) like I said I was going to do this morning. He had a feed at about 8pm then went straight down as he normally would at about 11pm. Thing is he normally would have another feed at about 10:30 before bed - so what do I do? Just see if he wakes for it or do I 'dream feed?' HELP!

Ta.xx

JodeyLea · 08/12/2010 21:00

Mammy you are soooo lucky and truly blessed by the sound of it.

Not sure if anyone remembers me saying (back in the early days) that a friend at my work was going through fertility treatment that had been unsuccessful when I was in the early stages of pregnancy. Well I just found out yesterday that her second lot of treatment worked and she is now 14 weeks pregnant with twins which is just wonderful news. Thought i would share.

Well I've bathed Halryn, fed him (he fell asleep) so have put him down in his cot. It has been half an hour so far so we shall see what happens. Got the monitor on but have already been upstairs twice to check on him.

I'm going shopping tomorrow to try and find something glam to wear to a couple of parties I have in the diary as none of my pre preggers clothes fit me. Wish me luck! I'm not looking forward to it.

Chelle1986 · 08/12/2010 21:07

jodey i have the monitor sat on my shoulder next to my ear.... Xmas Blush, first time I've put him down early and come back downstairs...

MammyG · 08/12/2010 21:19

Thanks Jodey and happy shopping!

Chelle I dream feed as such. She wakes up a bit but I turn the light off for the last bit and she drifts off again. I did that with both boys too otherwise they can wake at 1-2am and again 5-6am which is a pain. Some babies will go for longer - till 3 or so but it makes it harder in the long run to drop the middle of the night feed. I found that over time you will be able to give them more at 6pm and good feed at 10 ish then they will start going til 7 or so. Its easier down the line then to slowly faze out the 10pm feed. hope that helps and now think about all the things you will fill your hour or two off in the evenings with!!

bananastew · 08/12/2010 21:24

Chelle you're getting conflicting posts on fb! If I leave olly he wakes around midnight so I have to get up then still is up at 6. If I feed at 10 he still goes till 6 so I don't have to get up. Like your friend says every babys different. Try both, one tonight, one tomorrow!!!

Chelle1986 · 08/12/2010 21:24

Thanks Mammy!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/12/2010 21:24

I tried a dream feed with both of mine Chelle1986 and it didn't work at all! With both of them they woke up more the nights that I did it so I just stopped!! DS1 slept from 8pm-6am at 14 weeks but he was HUGE so I think he had enough to last him til morning! Luke goes to bed between 5.30 and 7.30 and wakes for his first feed in the night between 11.30 and 2. When I gave him a dream feed he still woke at 12 and then had 2 more feeds in the night whereas he will only wake twice. For example last night he went to bed at 6, feed at 11.30, feed at 4, feed at 9. The book I had with ds1 suggested that if a dream feed hasn't helped improve their sleep pattern after 3 nights then stop trying! I know loads of mums who swear by it, good luck!!!

Chelle1986 · 08/12/2010 21:28

I know what you mean banana - however the two people who have commented that aren't "one of us" so to speak both have the easiest children ever and are first time mums like me! You, cinnamon and mammy have done it all before and I think thats the kind of advice I need on this if you see what I mean - someone who has been there done that? And I trust you all more! lol.

Cheers all.xxx

cinnamongreyhound · 08/12/2010 21:31

Sorry x posts with bananastew and MammyG!!

bananastew · 08/12/2010 21:33

Oh God!! If you try the dream feed now I hope it works! Oh the pressure of being a second time mum! Xmas Wink

I like the "one of us" its like were part of a secret society!

Good luck!

imnotperfect · 08/12/2010 21:35

sorry to be a little dense, but dream feeding???is that where babs doesnt wake up?

cinnamongreyhound · 08/12/2010 21:37

They do wake but not properly (IME) if you do it in a darkened room so you can just put them back to bed and they then hopefully sleep longer at night.

Chelle1986 · 08/12/2010 21:37

Hahaha banana - secret society!

I think I will do what you suggested and try dreamfeed tonight and see how goes - if still wakes up early then try without one tomorrow.

imnotperfect - yep thats the theory.... Xmas Wink

Chelle1986 · 08/12/2010 21:50
