We got home about 8 last night. Didn't have to be transferred luckily. All tests came back ok. They think upper respiritory infection and we have been given saline drops for his nose and I have boosted his basket.

I have never been so scared in my life and I would rather have the medical staff think "another neurotic mother" than be at home with my brain racing and nerves shot.

Fab news about okie!

Our last NCT babe has arrived and it's now three boys and one girl. Seems boys are the majority this year!

Cosmosis · 13/11/2010 11:31

silv poor monkey.

fwiw all babies I know roll their eyes back when on the verge of sleep, but i do agree, better safe than sorry.

SilverSky · 13/11/2010 12:32

Fanks cosworth. I am now not going to panic when he does that again. It was more the breathing that was worrying me. Hopefully we are on top of it now.

Cosmosis · 13/11/2010 13:03

I agree, breathing did sound worrying, hope he's better soon.

AlpinePony · 13/11/2010 14:26

silv So very glad to hear that you're all home safe & sound. x

I'm with curly Blush - I wouldn't have panicked the night before either... [TerribleMother]

Test drove the new buggy around the park in a torrential rainstorm this morning to walk the dogs. Awesome - especially up hills where its 6kg as opposed to 6 stone comes in handy! Wink

Wow - it's baby-city round here.

Mega Congrats to Okie and Reggie ....looking forward to hearing all the stories

Silv - so glad to hear the little man's back home safe and sound. Is a bit like horses really....you just know when they're not quite right.

SilverSky · 13/11/2010 19:25

Katester v troo.

Have had a lovely arvo at family gathering (HIs) and was really nice. Til..... I was told that really I don't know how much milk MB (ma boy) is getting and really expressing into a bottle to see would be very helpful and then I would know if he was getting enough or just plain greedy. What I wanted to say in response I couldn't. Give you's all a clue. First word starts with F and it doesn't start with "Friendly" or "Fanks".

Will do birf story when I fire up t'lappy as difficult to do on phone. Promise I will do it !!

Plz for someone to send me baby names of the newbies on t'other place.

Congrats to the new momma's which now includes reggieroo! Way to go sistah!

Seems we are on a roll with births! Keep'em coming gin tarts.

Re nappies. I think part of the problem was I was not pulling them up enough but also that they are not a great fit round the legs. Nuff said.

We iz watching the boxing match on the telly later. Life on the edge girls. Life on the edge. This assumes that we can both stay awake!!

Backinthebox · 13/11/2010 21:21

I'm losing track of who's laid. Well done Reg and Okie!

LG has just got back from his first gig. He seemed to be extremely impressed with his daddy's band - as was I. This is a new band he has formed when it became apparent with his old band that having the drummer live 200 miles away from the rest of them wasn't working. This drummer lives just down the road and is deputy head of a very VERY exclusive private school. I wonder if they know he is moonlighting as Animal from the Muppets at the local rugby club? Anyway, LG had a very startled stare on his face throughout, and when I tried to cover his ears over he kept shaking his head to get rid of my hands. So we may find later in life that he is deaf as a result of his dad's music. TT also enjoyed the gig - watching her dancing round and shouting 'more music, Daddy' was a very special thing. Especially since she had chosen to colour her face in with an indelible ink marker while I was giving LG a quick milk top-up just befor we set off! She had chosen a blue pen, and had not only coloured in her face but also her tongue and teeth too, giving the impression of being a tiny version of a terrifying Pictish warrioress - a bit like this only more authentically ginger. A good scrub with a variety of lotions found in my bathroom did not shift it, so she is going to be a bit blue for a few days to come, I think!

And finally, horsey gals I just have to get a vetting done, but it seems I have bought a little yellow horse. Grin

SilverSky · 13/11/2010 23:04

Yay! You've been Dun!!!!

b pls to see deli as i have posed a q. Ta.

AlpinePony · 14/11/2010 08:32

Yay! I fell in love with a super little yellow horse about 20 years - a Belgian import - never seen anything like it since - his name was Porthos and was most definitely a horse and not one of the Dogtanions. Wink He had proper stripey legs too!

silv Whack about 10 drops of tea-tree in to a bath. I also use salt - up to half a kg tbh. I've suffered absesses on my spine in the past and the medical peeps always reckoned swimming in the sea (not sarrrrfend) or very salty baths was the cure. How is the wound looking now? Mine looks pretty good now - although there's a dimple at one end. This is going to sound pathetic - but I'm a bit nervous about shaving. :( Why? What's going to happen? The wound burst open and 600 mini-Bears pop out like a spider egg hatching? Hmm

silv The creche extension will be I suppose when they start nursery and we're i) older than all the other mums, ii) more likely to say "oh fgs" and iii) just generally upset everyone else. Especially those of us who roll up stinking of 'oss.

Cosmosis · 14/11/2010 11:07

silv grr at people! what you can express gives no indication of what he is getting from you.

swimming in the sea is what finally healed my belly button peircing.

CluckyKate · 14/11/2010 16:40

Haemorrhoid cream is what healed my belly button piercing....not sure I'd recommend it for CS wound Hmm

Another Grrrr at people who think all babies need the same amount of milk - surely it depends on appetite, quality of milk, growth spurts etc. etc. Babies don't binge so will always stop when they're full - if he's not crying with hunger then he's getting enough!!!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 14/11/2010 19:18

Many congrats to Moo, Okes and Reggie!! Hooray for new babies! Can't wait to hear from you all xxx

Backinthebox · 14/11/2010 21:33

LG had his last dose of antibiotics today, meaning his cannula came out too. So he could have a bath and is nice and clean again but is currently perturbed by his slightly overactive guts - a side effect of the antibiotics. He has an impressive average of 5 poos a day atm, and is giving the impression he is a bit fed up of this now. Poor lad. Hopefully his guts will be back to normal by tomorrow. We have had some spectacular poos while he has been on the antibiotics, but the best had to be yesterday in the hospital. He was reclining on my knee, having some milk, and I sat him up to burp him. As I sat him up he did a little poo. I pulled the top of his nappy back to check it definitely was a poo, and he did a top-up, only it came out like big bubbles of poo! It bubbled up over the top of his nappy, but fortunately he was upright, the bubbles of shit burst, and I DIDN'T end up with poo all over my lap. Just as he did it, one of the ward cleaning ladies smiled gooily at him then recoiled in horror. Grin

TT has been very good with all the to-ing and fro-ing. Bless her!

AlpinePony · 15/11/2010 08:21

hahaha boxer "awww look at the lovely ba... "

Kate What on earth made you decide to try rubbing bum cream on your piercing?

OP posts:
CluckyKate · 15/11/2010 08:54

Confused not sure Pone but it worked!!!

Cosmosis · 15/11/2010 09:26

lol at farmer g cream for peircing!

New Artie pic for admiring on facecrack please.

AlpinePony · 15/11/2010 09:32

Cossie Gorgeous pics - he's got such beautiful piercing blue eyes! And I absolutely love his grizzly face and your synmpathetic yet taking-the-piss face back! Grin Who is the lady staring at TGO in the restaurant? What is it about men holding a baby which makes ovaries pop? Wink

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 15/11/2010 10:12

LOL they were admiring our pram! She had a 3 week old baby who was adorable.

I'm afraid we often laugh when he grizzles as face and noises most entertaining.

CurlyCasper · 15/11/2010 10:47

cossie I've just had a quick peek and he's gorgeous! And I'm with alpie on the ovary-popping front.

Grin at the shit-bubble hospital antics box and bless little TT. Bet she just adores her wee brother.

I've been reading the Baby Whisperer and appear to have what she describes as a "spirited" baby Wink We've pretty much cracked the "Mum's decided you are tired so you will go to bed, in your own cot, without a swaddle, NOW" thing, but Squeaker's feeding is all over the shop. Bugger all in the mornings/early afternoon and shitloads, sometimes hourly, in the evenings.

Little bugger has just decided to eat because I have let her hold the bottle. But not before she had pulled her socks off. Independent Annie!

Off to visit grandparents from tomorrow. Maybe there will be some birth stories to read when I get back?

Has FP headed off yet?

Cosmosis · 15/11/2010 10:56

Yes, she went last week :(

CurlyCasper · 15/11/2010 10:58

Sad for us, but sure she'll have a lovely time. Hope she pops on at some point.

SilverSky · 15/11/2010 15:02

Poor MB was screaming mad earlier and intermittently the scream would also incorporate a noise which sounded much like a baaing lamb. We did laugh. Poor sod was so distressed.

Not sure what his ishoo is at the mo - growth spurt or needs comforting or wot.

Not had chance to fire up laptop yet.

Baybee is finally asleep in his basket and I should be napping myself but ain't always as easy as that!!

AlpinePony · 16/11/2010 11:34

I must admit I laugh at Bear when he has a strop. Grin Last night it took jailbait nearly 2 minutes to prepare a bottle and Bear was turning purple and beating his little fists against me. What can you do except laugh?

How are our newbie mums feeling?
