Hi Lynny-Don't think these ones have actually got a name. They're just white leather, open toed ankle boots which lace up and have a small buckle at the side. They do actually look really cute, but look like they're on the wrong feet.Ds is so good though-nothing really seems to bother him.He is such a happy baby and always smiling. How are Leona's feet now she's older? I was told by the consultant that Talipes etc...can be heredatory(sp). My mum had the same problem when she was small and had to wear special boots,so I think he must've got it from her.
Talking of mums...I'm going out shortly to buy her birthday pressie. She's 60 next week and I haven't got a clue what to buy her, although I might get her something sparkly to wear that she can take on the cruise with her,and she'll have her first ever birthday card that says "to nana"-awwwwwww.

'Ola!

Trib - I love the summary thread, it's absolutely inspired !!

Charley - Very glad to hear that Arlo is eating more

Lynny - Last winter my dp made bread almost evrey sunday, it was lovely. We'd have warm bread and cheese, meat etc for sunday supper, I must remind him so he can start it again. He made it without a bread maker, we don't have room for anymore appliances.

Bubb - I hope you find something nice for your mum's 60th. Monsoon do some nice sparkly clothes, perfect for a cruise I should think.

My dd1 lived in those leather shoes as soon as her feet were big enough! We had Bobux from NZ, we bought them while we were there, but you can buy them here too. She had some Daisy Roots ones too. They are just brilliant! We have wooden floors and they stop slipping brillinatly, she uses them as slippers. Sadly she is getting to big for them, they don't seem to make them from young children, it's such a shame.

hub2dee · 02/10/2005 12:33

lynny, what are you on, hun ?

behaving

Yeah. I'm crap at cleaning. Though yesterday and today I am doing a full sterilisation session on the ensuite. We've got a glass shower door which gets caked in limescale, and every now and then I insist on restoring it to 'factory fresh.' Takes fing hours. LOL. I am also someone who creates piles of things. Piles of paper. Piles of gardening books. Piles of piles....

I think you should step away from the G&B and go iron your dh's shirt and then help see if you can take out the bins or do something useful like a 3 hour massage.

Mmmm. Nice milk.

You know, you should really close your browser window and go sort out your shower cubicle.

Pass the viakal...

tribpot · 02/10/2005 18:03

Please can someone tell me how it is ds ALWAYS knows when we are virtually back home after a walk in the pram, and chooses that moment to go to sleep? I am mystified. It doesn't matter how long we are out for, when we're 10 metres from home - zonko. And then I can't actually go home because carrying him up the stairs will wake him up again. Ho hum.

Lippy - I take no credit for the style of the summary thread, lummox did the first one and I just copied her. It looks like my idea cos I put lummox's in after mine As a former IT consultant I am highly skilled in taking credit for other people's work.

Charley, Toby's picked up the pace on eating as well in the last few days. Still vomiting like a trooper though, lucky you Bero that ds has stopped doing it! Hope your trip is not to stressful in the end.

lummox · 02/10/2005 18:10

It is the same mechanism that enables my ds to wake up when he hears (from the other side of the house) the sound of:

  • someone about to eat
  • a cup of tea being made
  • anyone thinking of sitting down for five seconds.

Trib - the summary thread was your idea. Shucks and thanks, though.

tribpot · 02/10/2005 18:24

Ah yes lummox, the basic idea was mine, but the style is entirely yours

lummox · 02/10/2005 19:45

Gee, thanks. For next week I suggest rhyming couplets

LipstickMum · 02/10/2005 21:06

Well, it's a great idea whoever thought of it!

I spent 2 hours in bed this afternoon after a yummy pizza express lunch Sadly had severe blocked nose and dd2 suckling for the best part of an hour also.

Bleeeurgh to cleaning shower cubicles! Get a cleaner?

Lynny - we still have about 12 bags of flour for bread, so I will deffo remind dp!!!

sfxmum · 02/10/2005 22:20

evening all
you have all been mighty busy with the posts. will try and catch up at some point.
caught lots of talk about freshly baked bread...mouth watering..hips widening at the mere thought of it

very good weekend of the boring variety but got to have some of those. can't do with too much excitment these days.
dd been great in spite of remnants of cold. she seemed restless in the pram while out so we converted it into pushchair.that worked well, was interested in new vantage point. she was very taken with the restraints too and immediately started chewing on them...oh tasty

am tired been sneezing a lot which makes her startle poor thing. need my bed.
i bid you good night hope you all sleep well.

JonahB · 03/10/2005 10:41

Morning All,

Not been able to catch up all weekend and DH has been working and DS has turned into crotchety baby . I dont know if this means my milk isn't enough for him (i'm exclusively b/f), but he does seem to be spending a large amount of his time between feeds wingeing . Cant complain too much as he is still sleeping through the evenings and nights. Ah well.

Lua - please dont feel bad at all. There is no way you could have given us a lift anyway, even if you did have room, as i didn't have my car seat with me. If you fancy a coffee at all, give me a bell....

TMI ALERT*
Uki, i think it was you talking about naughty bedroom activities. I had mammouth amounts of stitching too and was terrified about trying. I have to say, it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. However, it was only halfway through the 2nd time when everything "down there" sort of went back into place. I cant really describe it. One minute it just didn't feel right, like somehting wasn't alligned properly and the next it did. It goes without saying that DH didn't notice any difference .Sorry, that is probably far far TMI for this time of the morning. SORRY!!!!

Right, better go and rescue DH who is playing his guitar to DS whilst I sit on my fat arse....

LipstickMum · 03/10/2005 11:50

Hello everyone

Well, I feel worse today I woke up all achey and like my head was in a vice, but, being a Mummy I had to carry on. Dd1 was very lethargic this am too, I even phoned nhs direct wondering if she was very ill... then she just perked up and went back to normal! Thank God cause I couldn't have dealt with 2 ill children and be ill myself. I had to drag myself to the supermarket, if only to gt some 'comfort food'

Got to go.

redheadmum · 03/10/2005 14:55

welshie can i cat you re sleep lady please???

sweetheart · 03/10/2005 16:09

Hello to you all.

Just wanted to pop by and give you all a wave

I'm getting bigger by the second and will be about ready to pop soon.

I thought I remembered one of you having a home water birth and a lady called Drama Queen on the Due in Dec thread is thinking fo doing the same.

I just wondered if whoever it was could pop over and give her some advice on the subject.

Anyway, hope you are all well. Hugs to you all and your bouncing babies.
Sh xxx

LipstickMum · 03/10/2005 16:53

Hello Sweetheart !!

When are you due??? It's lovely to see you! I can't remember who had a home water birth, I know Mrs W had a home birth, can't remember if it was in water and I think McMudda did too, but she hasn't been around since she gave birth. I had a hospital water birth.

Put your feet up and eat lots of choc in the last few weeks

Lots of love.

thanks Lipstick, am due on 4th Dec - 2 months to go

tribpot · 03/10/2005 18:20

Take care sweetheart! Looking forward to reading your birth announcement in due course. My best friend is due on 6th December, so it's all go.

I think it was katz who was planning a water birth, but in the "have a go" stylee of the June mummies she decided to give birth about 40 seconds after the midwife arrived.

Lynny - snort.

lummox · 03/10/2005 19:10

Hi all,

Sweetheart - I did water birth all but the last 20 minutes in a birth centre. Can't imagine giving birth any other way.

Weeellllll, today was S day. The first day of SOLIDS. ds is nearly nineteen weeks and we thought it was time.

One whole tablespoon of baby cereal mixed with breastmilk! Seemed to go down well although not sure how much of it got into ds. He definitely enjoyed sucking at the spoon though.

Can't quite believe that I felt a pang of nostalgia .

Hope everyone is doing well.

tribpot · 03/10/2005 19:26

wot no steak tartare lummox?! (That's that ruddy awful raw steak they like in France, yes?) Glad ds enjoyed his first taste of solids. Nappy time will never be the same again ;)

LipstickMum · 03/10/2005 19:51

Just remembered, Scraggy was hoping for a home birth too, but she isn't online much either.

I can't believe I got through today [shcok]

Time to sit in front of a zillion soaps and eat choccies

katzguk · 03/10/2005 20:07

nope i was planning a hosptal water birth but didn't make it DD2 arrived at home a bit quick but yes 40 mins after the midwife. Scraggy had a planned home water birth but sweetheart your more likely to catch her on msn.

Well day 2 of solids here but a heaped teaspoon of babyrice into ebm, went down so quickly! hoovered it up she did. going to try two heaped teaspoons tomorrow, shes 17 weeks.
