Thanks for starting a new thread, its actually nice not to get to the stage where it takes ages for it to load.

QUick post as in middle of after school rush.

ktpie · 06/10/2010 16:22

I've been reading the sleep conversations with interest (in between painting doors, I'm on a DIY mission). We were fairly tough with J I think, and I can't remember the last time he woke in the night, but for a list of reasons I've been a bit softer on H and he is now waking a couple of times a night which I think is too much for his age. He seems more determined than J to end up in our bed! Problem is I don't sleep properly if he is in with us. In fact he is generally clingy at the moment. He screamed all the way around Ikea this morning, because he wanted me to carry him. A particularly helpful old lady told me it is because he is spoilt, yeah, thanks for that.

Knitting - I used to eat a lot when I had my own office. I used to try and limit my office stash to fairly healthy stuff, but end up popping down the road to the shop for a chocolate bar. Sorry, that's not really helpful is it.

System - interesting about the light sleep at 5am, H typically wakes about then and as our alarm goes off at 6.10 if he doesn't settle pretty quick that ends up being the start of my day.

Amber - Hope you and Mark have had a good day!

Better go, H wants picking up, again.

DebInAustria · 06/10/2010 19:04

Cheeky!!!!!

DebInAustria · 06/10/2010 19:05

and no I haven't started any shopping, but had some good news today, the school the boys should be going to in the Uk has a pre school linked to it and they take children from 2 years Grin I have provisionally put Ethan's name down for after Christmas.

Rolf · 06/10/2010 19:11

That's great Deb Smile

ktpie don't you love helpful comments like that?!

Amber Mark's bday sounds brilliant. Lucky him!

Yesterday T took off her nappy, did a poo on the floor, stood on it, sat on it and then decided it was horrid Hmm. We were just about to leave the house to pick DD1 up from football so were horribly late as I had to put T in the bath to scrub the poo out of her toenails Hmm. Are we last on the potty training front?!

DebInAustria · 06/10/2010 19:27

Rolf - no, you're not last. Ethan likes to copy the boys and sit on the loo but not much success. Today he stood in front of me pooing in his nappy, grunting going red saying no poo, no poo, he's obviously in denial

Knitting, I also comfort eat, the only thing that stops me is if I make myself write down everything I've eaten and I put it somewhere visible like the fridge door. No-one else looks at it but it helps sometimes. At the moment I have no will power though and I know it's a losing battle until we're back in the UK so I'm just going with it.

going · 06/10/2010 19:31

Knitting I have also had really big issues wth binge eating. AM finally getting it under control with some tablets from my dr but feel ashamed it has reached such a point to need it.

going · 06/10/2010 19:33

Rolf DS won't even think about potty training - we have tried putting him on the potty but he just screams and throws it back into the bathroom!

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 06/10/2010 19:46

Grin & Deb!

systems, I'm just worried that I'm going to balloon ever further - I'm huge already and getting bigger and bigger. It won't be long before I literally have nothing to wear Blush.

You are sooo not last with the potty training Rolf - in fact I think we could count on the fingers of one hand the number of June babies on this thread (so excluding older siblings obviously!) who are trained! Don't forget we're majority boys on here so I'm guessing a lot of us aren't going to be remotely ready until 2011 (at the earliest Wink).

going, do you mind me asking what tablets you're on? I would try anything Blush.

ktpie, how old is H now?

Deb, I've tried that but just lied about how much I'd eaten Blush.

Knitting I'm taking xenical which is Alli but double strength and prescription only. If I eat too much fat it will have some awful consequences! As it's prescribed by my dr she is weighing me every month and I will only get it if I lose enough weight. It really has kept me away from biscuits/cakes etc. I am so cross with myself for getting to this pint but hopefully I cacn retrain myself to eat more normally Blush

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 06/10/2010 20:06

Don't even own a potty!

I hope Dewin comes back soon - has anyone been in touch in RL?

Great news on the pre-school Deb.

I've been doing some more Christmas shopping today Grin Got this noisy plastic keyboard from elc while it's half price. S will love it (unfortunately).

abdnhiker · 06/10/2010 20:22

we're not potty training here yet - we're off on holiday in Galloway next week (yeah!!!!) and I've been holding off. Rolf's story has traumatised me though, you poor thing!

I haven't heard from dewin either and I need her home address to mail her the peanut butter cups...

I think it's natural to overeat when you're tired - the extra food sort of helps you get through the exhaustion. I've gained a bit of weight with all the changes with me working too and I know it's just stress related eating. I'm going to try to be good on holiday which is the opposite of my normal plans...

I went to the gym today while Fraser was in creche which was lovely! I wish I had more time to work out but I'm too lazy in the evenings. Oh well - next year there should be more opportunity!

DebInAustria · 06/10/2010 20:29

haven't seen Dewin on FB either

abdnhiker · 06/10/2010 20:52

can someone text her and check she's ok?

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 06/10/2010 21:04

Done x

going, do you mind me asking how much weight you've lost? GP did offer me xenical but I've heard horror stories about the side effects and was too scared to try it Blush.

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 06/10/2010 21:12

She's fine, just busy Smile.

SpiderWilliam · 06/10/2010 21:22

No attempts at potty training here.

I was wondering about Dewin today too. Glad she's ok.

Nothing else to report.

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 06/10/2010 21:24

just marking my spot. will try and catch up properly soon, but struggling for time and seem to have passed the blooming phase and entered the blooming knackered one. Sad

I am having a sofa evening in front of the Apprentice which will be followed by The Kevmeister on Grand Designs...

SpiderWilliam · 06/10/2010 21:54

Just finshing watch GD Biscuits - I'm in property heaven...

DewinDoeth · 06/10/2010 22:10

Here I am, here I am! Smile I'm so touched that you all care enough to miss me! Smile It's true, I've not been on - in fact, I've got some reading to do of the older thread - and I haven't been on facebook either (Abdn thank you so much for the offer of Reeses!! I will get on facebook and send you my address. Remember a return address for the money. Smile)
Busy - I have an exam on Monday; term and teaching started last week, and my RA started on Friday; I also had a one-day conference (it's biannual) on Saturday. And an OU tutorial last Saturday, so I haven't really had weekends either.
Plus, every time I go into work it's really annoying and they make me do actual work which is so annoying... WinkGrin

Also, I'll confess that I've been staying away in shame because I had some sort of phantom pregnancy last month. All very bizarre, but annoying too at my first attempt of TTC. (I hadn't actually tried before - and that includes the two pgs Blush: not accidental, mind, just let's have sex and see what happens - oh, that's what happens...!) Anyway, I thought I'll ttc properly, and lo and behold, a load of weird symptoms and no period. It was over 10 days late arriving. But I feel so embarrassed about thinking I was pg when I wasn't, and also annoyed at my body for being so amazingly cruel and getting the only late period I have ever had in my life. And obviously I wanted to be pg. Sad I feel like such an idiot.

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 06/10/2010 22:27

Hurrah! Welcome back Dewin. I think it's perfectly reasonable for you to have thought that you were pg when your period was 10 days late. Sorry it didn't turn out how you hoped.

Now, is HardAndSleazy also MIA - I don't think she's been on for a while either?

Sorry about your BloomingKnackered phase Biscuits. Sounds like a MN talk name!

DebInAustria · 06/10/2010 22:32

OMG Dewin. you're not an idiot, just perfectly normal! I would imagine that most of us on here have had pregnancy symptoms when there was no pregnancy. Fingers crossed that soon you'll have the real symptoms.

Rolf · 06/10/2010 22:35

Hooray, you're back Dewin! Sorry you're not pregnant.

I was wondering about H&S as well.

I have £150 in Amazon vouchers Smile. They were from our credit cards (points or summat) and £100 of them are from DH's card. I claimed them without telling him anything about it and now I'm wondering if it would be bad if I spent them on myself. He didn't know anything about it and would never have claimed them, and the points would have expired. And he's not shy about book-buying (well over 20 bookcases and counting...) so I'm not depriving him. Could someone please tell me that it wouldn't be bad of me to spend them on myself? Thank you.

T's Adventures with Poo didn't bother me that much, actually. DD1's comparable adventure involved poo in her hair and all over her cot so somehow this one wasn't as bad. And we haven't been eating much meat recently so it could have been much much worse. I'll stop now.

Rolf · 06/10/2010 22:41

Dewin I'm sorry, that looked very curt and dismissive. I didn't mean it to look like that. I really am sorry you were disappointed.
