Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

T has got straight bits, curly bits, long bits and short bits!! his fringe isn't all the same length Blush

i've also tried the 'sneak up on him and cut' method. oh and the 'cut whilst he's sleeping' method

my mum always does a good job when she does it but she's been making excuses since april. think she's trying to encourage me to do it

people having a hair cut is quite a big deal for me because i've got mild prosopagnosia. i use hair styles/lengths/colour to identify people so, if anyone changes their hair, i am unlikely to know who they are especially if out of context ie meet randomly at the shops or something. my friends having children has really helped though because unlikely that the child and mum have both changed hair so i can use one to identify the other Grin

hats should be banned imo!

ScreamingTerror · 28/10/2010 11:31

enya so glad you are home.

haircuts: sleeping babes don't fuss. is there no way to have the trim during nap-time? OR do the trim with the child sitting in your lap? both of these might have been tried. just trying to be helpful.Smile

Hippy DS hair sounds about the same but is very fine at the moment and so looks quite wispy. It's also a problem when it gets long as he gets very sweaty when running around outside (who wouldn't at 30 degrees) so it all sticks to the back of his neck which is the main reason I want to get it cut.

ScreamingTerror · 28/10/2010 13:34

QUICK look at these spider cupcakes!!

ScreamingTerror · 28/10/2010 13:57

Just realized where I got my FB status line idea. SOMEBODY'S BLOG says the very same thing. I am so easily influenced.

ShineyHappyHair · 28/10/2010 14:14

I join hippo and star with the hairdressing technique Grin Bath time is usually when i do it as they are fairly contained, and you can rinse the hair straight down the plug Grin.

Town wasn't too bad, bought O a new swim nappy that fits instead of the 6-12 month skin tight thing he was wearing Blush, and to conned into buying the boys a ghost balloon each from Clinton cards Hmm

enya glad all went well for you/your uncle

salta · 28/10/2010 14:24

I have clippers. At least they are quick, and look OK.

OK blueberry, thanks for advice. 5.30am up and out of nappies it is then. I thought it would be, I was just hoping really!

Merlion · 28/10/2010 14:34

Maybe I'll just get DH to take him Wink.

Salta in case I forget (memory is going already) hope that DS is ok and that all goes well on Monday.

ScreamingTerror · 28/10/2010 15:21

shame shame shiney. lol!Smile tbh size numbers don't mean a hill of beans to me. dd1 should be in 6 but can still wear 4t of some things. dd2 can wear those same 4t and she is really a 2t. Hmm

okay i am now trying to coordinate an impromptu family gathering for sunday. dh's little db will be going through town (fil picking him up and taking him home). sooooooo i've phoned dh's older db's wife and we've discussed availability/logistics. dh's little db to call back later this weekend to give arrival time so we can move forward. we've not seen his little db in more than 5 years seemed silly not to TRY and arrange it so we could all visit. will have a smaller group of the family here on saturday for football game (on tv). i need to figure out dd1's halloween costume.Hmm i need to go to the grocery store. i may need a stiff drink by sunday night too. if i'm awol...you all will know why. love! Smile

Bloodberrybatbait · 28/10/2010 17:33

Ladies I need a medal!! I came across the Sainsburys toy sale by accident today and survived. I went for my normal grocery shop and as almost rin over by the masses heading for the toy aisle on their way back from the school run. On the plus side I managed to get some Sylvanians for DD1 for the price of one of the houses else here. I also found some things for DD2. I phoned our other local store to check if they had anything different so DH could collect it on his way home and they held 2 things back - DH rang from the hell that it was saying he didn't dare leave his trolley with the things in to get groceries as people were just taking things out other's trolleys when they were not looking [hshock] I appreciate the want and need to save money but to resort taking out of someone elses' trolley is just over the top!

We are going out to dinner tonight without the girls DD2 is so good at going to bed at 7ish and sleeping through we have no real excuse not to Do you reckon we can do dinner and a drink in under an hour?

alittlebitshy · 28/10/2010 18:03

boybait i am sure i remember you have this same wibble with dd1:)

Ladies - i take back any smugness re haircutting. Ds was a holy terror while having it cut today. Poor woman who came to do it. Bless him - he looks so sweet (though i like it longer - but it grows like a weed so needs attention too soon) but covered in hair, snot and oreos used by lodger to bribe him Grin.

HippyHippopotamus · 28/10/2010 19:39

sorry albs, but you of all people describing their son as a 'holy terror' really made me smile!!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 28/10/2010 21:12

boybait just go out and enjoy yourselves fgs Grin

alittlebitshy · 28/10/2010 21:12

hee hee. I aim to please.

CrispyTheCorpse · 28/10/2010 21:18

Evening Smile

Been to Kew Gardens for the day with Mum, Sis, Niece & Nephew and had a lovely time. Dad didn't come as he couldn't walk that far. Refused to entertain the idea of us reserving him a mobililty scooter. For free. HmmAngry. Just pisses me off as he would have had a lovely day with all of his grandchildren, not cold so would not have been problematic for his breathing. No he is too bloody proud Sad.

. As you were ladies Blush

boybait hope you have been out and enjoyed yourselves. Shock at Sainsbo's though. Glad i have avoided so far

Re hair: I cut the DDs hair myself with some proper scissors. For DD2, after a bath i sit her on my lap with a cup of milk and Peppa P on the DVD and she is happy as larry. Curly hair definitely helps though. DD1's is much straighter but pretty easy to trim

Bloodberrybatbait · 28/10/2010 21:50

We areback and have had an amazing time - I wasn't nearly as PFB worried as with DD1. Both girls in bed by 7 and we were out hte door. DD1 was much older before we left her but then again she never slept! I loved some purely adult time and we saw some firends and had a drink.

Plans to do it again tomorrow very very soon!

Bloodberrybatbait · 28/10/2010 21:53

DD1's hair has only had 1 trim, a few weeks ago as it was so curly and knotted that it had to be done. She sat sweetly in the chair chatting away to the hairdresser. I had bribery planned but there was no need.

BibiBelle · 28/10/2010 22:39

A does the girls hair Smile and fixes it when I lamp off L's hair in a battle of wills Blush

mine, on the other hand, was done today but my lovely hairdresser and very swishy it is too Grin

Bloodberrybatbait · 28/10/2010 22:40
