Ooh, well best of luck with that work thing, H.

Sam, really making a HUGE effort to get out and about, walk loads, swim, Kinect Dance etc - I am very lazy and could sooo easily just sit on my bum all day! :)

Shield, ouch re fibroids - poor you. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Wow, that Mamaroo is awesome! £200 though - ouch! Hm, tempted, it looks great! Though I am very attachment parenting with DS, seem to always have him strapped to me or sleeping on me or in my arms - not sure he'd take to it. Plus, he's nearly four months now, so how much more use will we get out of it?

Had his last jabs today until he's one! He is remarkably chilled right now, brave little monkey!

nymphadora · 04/02/2011 10:50

Just found me a job on dh job hunt. Think I can persuade someone they want 20 hours not 43? It's shifts & can't see me managing f/t including over nights & 45 min commute. V good money for the work & vvvv good holidays

NoHunIntended · 04/02/2011 16:52

Worth asking, nymph! Good luck!

We are going to need a new thread soon!

nymphadora · 04/02/2011 18:20

Asked & manager seemed v nice. Job sounds good & they'd consider p/t if I got an interview. She asked how many & I suggested approx .5 post & she said that sounded workable. Just got to to the forms now though!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 04/02/2011 18:45

:) that sounds really promising!

nymphadora · 05/02/2011 08:13

8:30-4-7:15 almost civilised hours last 3 nights!

Hermya321 · 05/02/2011 12:32

Oh Nymph that sounds good!!

floozietoozie · 05/02/2011 20:35

My new plan for getting ds to go to sleep on his own is backfiring spectacularly. I bought him some new audio books and explained they were for him to listen to alone blah blah. He's got up twice so far. But at least I have beeb able to be downstairs for tge hour instead of in his room, although I'm going to have to go up now abd he'll probably end up going to sleep later than he would have done normally. It's really getting me down. I end up so wound up waiting for him to fall asleep cos he's taking ages atm. Dd is no trouble in comparison. I could have gone out tonight if he'd gone yo sleep although I'm way too tired really but still.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 06/02/2011 00:29

Oh floozie :( stick with it, it sounds like a good idea, may be one the novelty has worn off it will be ok? I hope so.

NoHunIntended · 06/02/2011 11:06

Sorry no advice, ft. Do you do a lot in the day to exhaust him?!

Went for our first swim today, was lovely!

nymphadora · 06/02/2011 12:06

4 times last night think it's cos we were out most of the day & less mammoth feeds.

Hun- we did first swim too. V tired baby now! She loved it splashing and going on her tummy & back. No tears not even getting changed.

NoHunIntended · 06/02/2011 13:42

nymph, it will pass, it will pass!

Yeah, DS loved his swim too - I was so pleased! I'll go put a photo on my profile! :)

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 06/02/2011 21:46

Grin Sophie is going for her first swim tomorrow! I bought her a Sophie Starfish swimsuit from mothercare. Will get a pic and put it on profile when we get back. Im so excited! How long did you stay in the water with them? Im worried ill stay in too long and make her poorley.

floozietoozie · 06/02/2011 21:51

Nymph, I think that's part of the problem, that he's not getting enough exercise in the day. However, he's been ill recently and still seems very tired - when we go out he doesn't walk very far (bearing in mind he can't walk very far of course) before asking to go in the pram. I'm talking halfway down our street type distance. The weather hasn't been good enough most days to go to the park where he will be more active. Trouble is at the moment with dp being pretty out of action it's all I can do to keep up with the basics let alone try and run ds ragged all day. Getting out of the house is just harder work because of his disability so when I'm exhausted to start with it makes it much more of a challenge.

I've tried again with the audionbooks tonight. He's basically staying awake until one finishes then getting up - like now. I thought he had fallen asleep during this one but clearly not. Maybe they weren't such a good idea if they are keeping him awake. It's 9.40pm and he's got nursery in the morning. The bags under his eyes are getting ridiculous but it's never going to change if I keep just staying in the room with him until he falls asleep. We are looking to get him a single bed as he's still in the converted cotbed - ridiculous with the size he is! I'm hoping that might help. I think DP has taken him into bed with him now which isn't ideal. Talking of which, time for me to sleep too. Sorry for the long posts on this. Dd has been hard work today at least until we went out at about 3.30. Fairly constant crying if put down, much fist chewing. Teething in earnest I think. She did two poos today and usually on does one every three to four days so that's a fairly sure sign if she's the same as ds was.

Hello everyone, sorry to harp on about my own small troubles. Hope you are having fun with your los. The swimming sounds great. If I can get someone to come with me (dp doesn't swim....sigh) I'd like to take dd and ds. I suppose I could take dd when ds is in creche. Just seems a lot of effort at the moment!

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 06/02/2011 22:02

Floozie Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. I have these cant get Archie to sleep phrases alot of the time. In the end we have to take his blanket off him, its a comforter, not a duvet :) and 5 mins later go up and he is normally so sorry he gets his blanket back and goes to sleep. How old is your ds again?

nymphadora · 06/02/2011 22:03

We stayed in 20 mins. Her suit is neoprene so she wasn't particularly cold but it wore her out. IN bed at 7:30 instead of 8:30 tonight. Hoping she'll sleep better tonight after lots of feeding too.

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 06/02/2011 22:19

I was thinking about 20 mins, dh and ds are going too. So I will get out with Sophie and have a cup of tea in the cafe :)

nymphadora · 06/02/2011 22:27

We left dd1/2/dh swimming lengths. Think I got the best deal Grin no cafe at our pool though, just sat in the viewing area & fed dd3.

Hermya321 · 07/02/2011 12:28

I'm looking after a friends little girl today, she's about two and every five seconds I'm getting a cry of 'whats that?', I've actually now ran out of answers and am instead asking her 'whats that?'.

I just get a confussed look in return.

nymphadora · 07/02/2011 13:29

'why' but 'why' but ' why' 'cos I said so' = 3 year olds!

SamanthaB123 · 07/02/2011 13:30

Floozie you could try bedtime meditation cd's instead of audiobooks. They work a treat here! It sounds like you're having a really tough time. How is today going?

Anyone got any advice on finding childminders? I've got a new (fantastic) job and need to say when I can start. Feel awful that someone else will be looking after Ruby Sad.

nymphadora · 07/02/2011 13:48

Congrats on the job SamB! Childminders here are on a register with the county council.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 07/02/2011 14:27

Hi. Sorry for being awol, been busy with worrying about whether we're staying or going back to uk. Will know more soon. Had ishoos with ds2 also which school have been great about.

Anyhoo, might have to give up bf. Genni has terrible reflux and is very unhappy on the boob most of the time, screeching and hitting me. Doc told me persevere and to get an anti-reflux formula for her one bottle a day. Well, she liked it. A lot, even smiling through a feed and minimal chuck up. Given that she's so much happier and I'll have more time for the boys and she hasn't put on much weight the past two weeks I think it's a no-brainer to switch gradually to formula (gradual or my boobs will explode). i also keep getting engorgement and subsequent fluey symptoms when she's not taking the milk off me. Please tell me it's the right thing to do. Am Sad.

Sorry for me me me post. Off to catch up properly. Well done on job SamB.

Hermya321 · 07/02/2011 15:27

Sam Do you know anyone who has used a childminder, often word of mouth is the best way. Congratulations on the job btw!!!

ILGH Have you tried infant gaviscon or did that not work? I've got some, I've not used it yet though so can't really tell you if it works or not.

DS has been expressing his hatred for all of my outfits and his today by throwing up on them. Hmm We're on our third outfit change of the day.

nymphadora · 07/02/2011 16:35

Doong that today too hermya.
