Nymph, not that I wish to joke about PND of course but if it's not - do you want to come and live with me??? I'd love someone to straighten the bathroom/living room/playroom/kitchen/whole house before bedtime.

My party went very well, thanks for asking tiredfeet and I even danced. Hurrah, not past it. Soooooo tired though - DP still not well so still doing all the nursery runs etc. It's hard going. I have to admit to a few moments of panic that it may never get better. How do single parents cope? I feel like one at the moment, but I know I'm not. Oh, there's ds crying, better go and pat his head even though he doesn't really wake up.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 01/02/2011 21:56

Glad it went well floozie! I'm yet to have a boogie since dd...need a party, other than toddler jiving with Ds Grin we are pretty good at that!!

Elsa123 · 01/02/2011 22:34

Glad you had a good party Floozie.

Nymph it sounds good that your DH is keeping a weather eye out for you.

Seashells I know what you mean about what the other group members may want to do, but I think if I lay my cards on the table early on with the group about what I'll be doing and offer to work around it they'll probably bitchaboutmeinthebaratnight be accepting. Besides there are plenty of people on these courses that do naff all and they live and work there 24/7! Before I commit to it, I need to get the timetable. What I do know is that there is a trip away for a week and my parents have offered to have DD as long as they are not on a cruise Grin. They offered to take her with them on a cruise but the cruise liner will not take children that age...nice thought though! It may have cramped their style a little. E.g, they do like a sundowner in the cocktail bar!

Anyhoo, if I don't do this course by May 12 I will be ineligible for even consideration for promotion- new policy apparently.

NoHunIntended · 01/02/2011 23:43

Nice to hear you've still got it, Floozie! :)

Just been to the gym for the first time since DS was born - had a good swim, and wasn't as out of shape as I thought I might be.

nymphadora · 02/02/2011 07:28

elsa didn't realise the course was so soon but lol at dd in the cocktail lounge.

floozie you wouldn't believe the OCD traits if you saw our houseGrinI'm worse when I'm tired but it's not proper tidying, more nappies in exact piles Hmm sorry you're finding things hard at the moment.Emotionally it's harder having someone there that can't help than no one as you just get on then.

Elsa123 · 02/02/2011 10:02

the course starts at the end of october. DD up twice in the night for feeds when she normally sleeps through from 2130. first time up in night for 10 weeks.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 02/02/2011 10:07

Elsa-sounds like they will make the decision for you, ad it's hard enough to get promotion as a spy

I'm handing my cv in for that job. You'd think ivegot it the amount of worrying and analysis ive been doing Confused

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 02/02/2011 10:09

Elsa xposts Ds was up for 2.5hrs last night and dd added a feed: just to make me think I was mad to consider FT work Grin why do they do it to us?!!

nymphadora · 02/02/2011 11:09

Elsa- that's not too bad then as shell be one then she's probably heading into the growth spurt at the moment.

Met a woman yesterday bf twins. She must be drained, I feel bad enough with one!

Elsa123 · 02/02/2011 12:41

Much respect bfing twins. I think that breastmilk is actually an energy elixir that we are losing to give to our LOs as I'm shattered!

nymphadora · 02/02/2011 13:12

I'm ravenous at the moment. Having two huge sweet pots for lunch. Had one , pickle, cheese, couple of toms, twix, slice of bread & waiting for the next one

Hermya321 · 02/02/2011 14:37

Nymph I know what you mean, I'm constantly snacking at the moment.

Still trying to get my head around work stuff. I really don't have the energy for it at the moment.

DS is being a bit testy today, but there you go.

nymphadora · 02/02/2011 14:57

So today goes
Feed, sick, feed, breakfast, feed, play & get covered in snot,feed/lunch, feed, poo, feed About 15 mins sleep altogethe. Knackered!!!

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 02/02/2011 16:59

Sophie seems quite grouchy today, she has been upset from her jab last week but think she may be teething, has anyone elses little ones got any teeth yet? :)

nymphadora · 02/02/2011 17:19

No teeth here. Van you feel buds?

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 02/02/2011 18:01

Bottom left off her mouth, her gum feels swollen and can see it is more white than pink. Just seems so early, ds got his first tooth when he was one year old :)

nymphadora · 02/02/2011 18:08

Maybe then. It's early but not out of the ordinary

Hermya321 · 02/02/2011 21:03

Tyson My friends DS is 17 weeks old and has four teeth, so it's not impossible.

I just seem to get used as a chew toy by DS at the moment.

sam12 · 02/02/2011 23:03

Glad you enjoyed your party floozie.
Hun good on you for getting back to the gym wish I had the will power!
I'm the same with eating I can't stop! All the baby weight dropped off easily and now it's starting to creep back on although I can't blame the baby anymore- it's all chocolate.
All the talk of work is depressing it seems like 2 minutes ago we were all counting down to maternity leave. It's made me realise that I am really out of the loop so am going to get in touch with my manager and ask if I can go to the meetings or I will be totally lost when I go back, especially in September when the new school starts. I also need to start looking into childcare. I can't decide on nursery or child minder- what are you ladies doing? What are your opinions on the two?

shieldbug · 03/02/2011 10:19

Yay! Have finally managed to catch up with this thread.

floozie happy very belated birthday- glad to hear you managed to do some partying. Sounds like you are really stretched at the moment with all the jobs you have to do. Just remember, it doesn't matter if things aren't perfect (or even close), the important thing is that you get to have quality time with your dcs and look after yourself too.

Tyson I'm convinced Harry is teething because he seems to be in pain, his cheeks are red, he's drooling like mad and chewing everything in sight. I can also feel his teeth when he is feeding or if I run my finger round his mouth. I can also see white, like you described with Sophie.

Is anybody else finding their babies are trying to talk? He intently watches my mouth and tries to make the same shapes with his mouth whilst making random noises. Dh and I are trying to convince people that his "aaaar" noise is actually an attempt to say "Harry"!

Reading all your difficulties with work, i feel very grateful that we can afford for me to be a sahm for the time being. I still have a PhD to finish (have started to write again) but after that, I can concentrate on being a (desperate) housewife.

Elsa we have saved up enough tescos vouchers to pay for a substantial portion of a cruise, but have to wait until Harry is 1 year old. the trick is either not being pg before then or being at a stage of pg that I can still enjoy a cruise!

Had a consultant's appt on Tues and the fibroids haven't shrunk (I still have a bulge equivalent to about normal 4 months pg). good news is, i should be suitable for treatment that will allow further children. She will get back to me about it soon. Less good news, i found a boob lump. I'm hoping that it's just milk, but it hasn't shifted in a couple of weeks. I've got to go for a scan at some stage to get it checked (no date yet).

oops, turned into a long post!

Hermya321 · 03/02/2011 17:49

Wine (testing a theory)

Oh I think I may have cracked the shifts/childcare/I want to tear my hair out issue. I just now have to put my request in and hopefully it'll all work out brillantly. Grin

In other news I hoovered my living room and putallthejunkunderthesofa cleaned up. I feel very productive. Grin

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 03/02/2011 18:24

Hermya can you come to mine and tidy up? I've been I'll the last 2days -every toy in out and the kitchen is a state :( got my mum visiting at weekend, and will have my work cut out tomorrow! I was in bed 6.50pm yesterday, same time as LO, so hoping same again tonight and I'll feel human.

Shieldbug! Good to "see" you. Can you ask them
To fast track you lump scan? My nhs trust didnt hang around (I have 4 benign ones, 2 of which first were spotted feeding) I hope it's nothing serious. It's a horrible feeling

Dd is having a very chatty smiley day in complete contrast to her over tired tantrumming big brother! Oh well, in the night garden is on, count down to bed has started :)

nymphadora · 03/02/2011 20:25

Good luck with work hermya& good luck with fibroids shield!

Dd3 makes a sound for me & dd2 which is more specific than others. I'm nyam or possibly milk is. Shes v into singing now too mmmmmmm. Been dh girl today though only came to me for food! She did have a good time watching Scooby doo sitting between her sisters too. Also she went to sleep tonight just cuddling dh & not feeding. Feel redundant Grin

Hermya321 · 03/02/2011 21:57

DH is out and I've been browsing on youtube and came across for a swing type thing (I was watching the cloth nappy videos, yes I do know how to live it up really I do Hmm). Anyway, it has a car journey option, how handy would that be!!

sam12 · 03/02/2011 22:12

hermya that's wierd I've also been living it up reading the mothercare catalogue and was just looking at one of those- they look good tho very pricey.
