Smile

Too much pressure and too little thread space left me with but one choice so here we are. Let's discuss further the private space because quite honestly the "private" space is not so "private" at the moment. I'm no detective BUT there's only a handful of threads over there and all are beckoning me to read through them. For the moment we are safer here. Like a new model car, we should wait and let the kinks be worked out by the folks that can't WAIT to be part of the "new thing."Smile

pf you wouldn't believe the amount of times your stare has been used on this thread, with real results. ie. if a sentence is finished with you can guarantee the recommended actions will be done!!! Grin Your stare has remained in your absence !!

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 21:59

LOL at being Diet Polis Grin. Simply my name was too close to my RL name so went for a bit more anonymity. Dizz then called me Seargent Crispy about something (possibly about me having a go at Hotter a Hotmama for eating crisps Blush) and the name evolved from there. If you want to spread your MN wings slightly further then come on over to Hotmamas and share your running Smile. How long is DH away for?

TS we are similarly harsh here and DD1 especially knows the boundaries now. Yes, they get flexed occasionally, but if she starts giving us too much grief, consequences are felt. she even says 'are we ignoring DD2 now because she is being silly' Blush

Hi QoD Smile films and cbeebies here today Grin

therealpf · 24/09/2010 22:00

CC -that's so sad!

TS - still haven't put the shopping away but re boundary testing.... I had littlest ds refusing to eat anything at dinnertime and throwing stuff (when he hadn't eaten at lunch either), dd needing to be fed to get hers down her (and she's FIVE) with the manners of a pig when she was choosing to feed herself and ds1 eating everything except the veg.... as usual. Then ......little ds throwing himself about because I won't put the tv on for him and doing that whole body going rigid thing. ds1 asks to go skateboarding so I get him ready and he's back after one minute because he's grazed his finger (in a microscopic way) saying he's no good at it and leaving his little sister outside. ds2 still throwing himself about so I decide he needs a bath and dd is trying to learn to cycle without stabilisers by herself outside. So.....I send ds1 back out there to help her (please) Instead he cycles off on her bike. How helpful. So now I have dd in tears outside and ds2 inside and have to whip him out the bath so I can go and get the other two. Ho hum........
So anyway, cyteen, I am in full agreement with TS on the ignore and do not get involved in negotiation system - it is the Only Way imo Grin And even WITH that I am still seemingly having to try and persuade them that I am in charge and not them......

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 22:09

but pf, surely one stare has them quivering in their little pfboots?

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 22:15

PMSL @ little pfboots Grin

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2010 22:17

PF we are living such parallel lives. LOL!

OP posts:
therealpf · 24/09/2010 22:18

CC lol now you are laughing at your own joke Grin Yes they do quiver but only when I get to full witch status which is quite energy sapping

Just realised the time - will be back - but that's it for today! See you all xxx

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 22:19

ahh girls, you and the wine have cheered me up a treat Grin

Did I mention the hockey season starts again tomorrow? Grin And a certain lady will be captain Grin Grin

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2010 22:25

WOOT! WOOT! GO CAPTAIN! Smile

OP posts:
RedLentil · 24/09/2010 22:38

Yay, captain my captain!!!

Now, Cyteen, I tried to post earlier to send love, happiness and sunshine your way for tomorrow and all days after. The message went awol though. Hopefully to whoever is in charge of the weather.

Can I add one more wish for you: that all your thoughts of Si and your mum tomorrow will be full of the joy they'd feel for you. Have a wonderful day, my dear.

PF. Helllooooooooo (Tis Sibh here in more pronounceable form)

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 22:58

most of the team are about half my age...I shall be channelling the pfstare if they misbehave and start chatting about eastenders or boys whilst i'm trying to bond us together Grin. The downside is I can't be a lazy arse and must run 100%...that or I can sub myself off on the pretense that i'm watching how the team are playing Grin

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 23:01

RED I love that film, it was playing for ages at the cinema when I was an ice-cream chick at our local Apollo cinema. We used to stand in the wings at the end of that film just to watch that scene near enough every night!!!! "oh captain my captain"

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 23:04

Ladies I need to go to bed....the Next sale starts online at 8am tomorrow Grin. I've seen some cracking stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lovely evening, nice and quiet with dh away, boys asleep and I've enjoyed crap tv, drank some wine and had good fun with you guys - Cheers

hotterpotter · 24/09/2010 23:06

I love that film too or actually I may just be a bit tipsy. Starting drinking at 8pm hasn't worked out quite how I anticipated... Blush

cyteen · 24/09/2010 23:07
hotterpotter · 24/09/2010 23:08

Actually find Robin Williams a bit too mawkish but he reminds me of John Irving (writer) who I love. Think it may be time to read all those books again Smile

hotterpotter · 24/09/2010 23:08

Cheers bride-to-be Grin

tweakers · 24/09/2010 23:14

that's one of the few films that makes me cry!!

tweakers · 24/09/2010 23:16

cyteen... get your pretty arse into bed Grin

QueenofDreams · 24/09/2010 23:17

Ooh my timing was fantastic there cc. or yours was Grin

S just had a wakeup so wondering if something's bothering him. Mind you all the birthday festivities over the weekend have completely sent his routine out. Trying to get it back on track.

DP trying to get a fire going in the dining room. If he succeeds I will be buggering off to go loll about in front of a crackling fire Grin

oooh and cyteen have the most fabulous day possible tomorrow very Envy but excited for you too!

poppysocks · 24/09/2010 23:41

Just popping on to say a huge, giant, good luck and congratulations to cyteen on your big day tomorrow. I don't for a second think that you'll see this message as I'm sure you're busy zzzzing in anticipation of the big day and will then be off enjoying it, but I'm crap and it's taken me this long to make it anywhere close to the laptop in the last week (except work - doesn't count Grin). Anyway, have a wonderful day, lovely lady Smile).

Many hellos to everyone, esp pf, your stare is, indeed, legendary.

Have skimmed and congrats on your new house pertelote and second interview loti. Sorry to hear about the hospital visit oops and DD1 woes TS and buckets. I'm with you both, although in slightly different ways. Grrr but Sad. Ho hum.

So sorry things are feeling rough dizzy. I haven't been in touch because I know how busy you are and don't want to be yet another call on your time/thought/energy. Please always know I'm here though and would love to catch up whenever/if ever you have time. DD1 continues to ask after L too. Plus I can sympathise with the bruised 2 year old - or rather E can Blush. Her green/blue forehead egg was caused by an over enthusiastic meeting with the radiator.
