Smile

Too much pressure and too little thread space left me with but one choice so here we are. Let's discuss further the private space because quite honestly the "private" space is not so "private" at the moment. I'm no detective BUT there's only a handful of threads over there and all are beckoning me to read through them. For the moment we are safer here. Like a new model car, we should wait and let the kinks be worked out by the folks that can't WAIT to be part of the "new thing."Smile

Here missus Grin

dizz i do have your home number, but was just being lazy Hmm. Have emailed you with scary spreadsheet LOL

albs hope you are ok? Very unsettling for you all Sad

longwayfromhome · 23/09/2010 21:20

Helloooooo. Busy day, very productive, but am now here hiding from my students who are on another website Grin

I have been thinking about the deleting threads thing, and think that my vote also goes towards getting deleted.

Personally, I don't mind at all, but the fact that there is detail about the children as well means that I agree that it is good that there is not such a large archive

On the other hand I am not really that fussed, so happy to go with the majority.

CrispyTheCrisp · 23/09/2010 21:26

Stay as Aug08 Postnatal with posts saved ad infinitum: Tweakers, Buckets
Move to Aug08 Postnatal 30 Day post: Crispy, VG, LWFH
Not Bothered: Oops, Dizz, Spring
Fence sitting until new area more populated: TS Grin

TS i do see what you mean about it being all new and therefore of more nosey interest. No worries on the waiting until it becomes less novel from my POV

hots in a month's time Thor will be snoozing until 8am. I promise. Maybe Grin

hotterpotter · 23/09/2010 21:44

Oh god crispy I hope you are right... am wondering actually whether it's cos he's just too big for his cot now but not ready for bunk beds just yet. At the moment we leave them to play in their room so can imagine the jumping games bunk beds would facilitate

lwfh have been thinking about you and think you win the meetup crown for the summer Smile we'll miss you when you go back and only post in the middle of the night.

DH currently massaging my dodgy shoulder as I type, he's so nice to me! Then it's bed time I think as am bloody knackered. Nearly weekend, hurrah Grin

RedLentil · 23/09/2010 21:47

Hello, hello.
Very tired here because we're still moving between the two houses and I was in our village today, but not able to go inside the house because the spray painter was in. Hmm Luckily the sun shone and my friends' kettles were working.

I can't believe the wedding is this Saturday Cyteen Shock
Off to make a cup of tea. What did I miss?

hotterpotter · 23/09/2010 21:47

Oh, and I think I prefer to keep here for posting, I like being able to go back and remember how things have changed. We really don't say anything about our DCs that they would mind when they are older do we? As for DH/Ps... but happy to go with the majority Smile

It's peeing down outside now Shock

LOL, you are a bloody indecisive lot. 3 for each and one fence sitter Grin

hots until a week or so ago DD2 was getting up in the night and v early mornings. Recently (and i hope to god it continues) she has slept until gone 7am, come in and says 'Morning, Had a nice sleep' Grin

oooh red, when do you officially move back in? . We need more pics

hotterpotter · 23/09/2010 21:57

I don't know how DD manages actually, starting full time school and being woken by DS at an ungodly hour every day. Bless her she is a star though. She loves school so much, we have to pretend to be pupils every evening so she can take the register Grin

Something a bit Confused from her tonight though, she used to have an imaginary mouse which lived in her hand and we scared it away by asking too many questions Sad anyway I asked her what had happened to susie mouse and she said that she ran away and fell off a bridge into the sea and died Shock I said I think she landed on a boat and sailed to Africa (DD's favourite place) but she said 'no mummy she definitely died, it was very sad' Shock where does it come from???

Red lovely to see you, hope it's not long until all's finished and you can move back home!

hotterpotter · 23/09/2010 22:00

Fecking 10pm already... bed time, night night xx

cyteen · 23/09/2010 22:16

We had hail earlier pots, lashing brutal hail. Hopefully just Leics getting it out of its system Hmm

Red helloooooooo :) :) :) Felicitations etc., it's very good to see you. I can't believe it's nearly here either, although am really looking forward to it now. I do wish you all could be there.

Also off to bed shortly as I am spent; today was mega busy and tomorrow will be also. dizzy you may be pleased to hear that I am making hummingbird cupcakes for my contribution to the wedding cake tower (a friend and I are making 100 cupcakes between us tomorrow, phew). The other ones I'm making are Buckets's aphrodisiac cupcakes...well, it seemed appropriate Wink

dizzydixies · 23/09/2010 22:24

cyteen am delighted. I only wish I was closer and I would have done it ALL for you to give you one less thing to do. All getting V exciting now [meep] oh and it rained AND snowed on our wedding day and I couldn't have cared less. I have the feeling you're a similar kind of bride to me in that sense!

Red

hots - sorry to hear about susiemouse. DD1 was coping with loosing Mum just as she started school and kids have a very practical way of coping with loss/death. Maybe it is just her way of letting go of a dear friend that she feared would no longer be appropriate at school? I'm thrilled at the thought of you all sitting down for registration in the morning though Grin

pertelote · 23/09/2010 22:41

Hullo... another quick post and run (to bed) from me, we are in the new house and we are online though we will have to switch it at some point so may be offline again for a bit then.

Anyway it is lovely here, I love it to bits even though there is still masses to unpack and sort and clean and fix and childproof. And once that's done I hope you'll all come and see us!

I've had a very quick catch up, Oops so sorry you had a scary trip to A&E, hope E is doing better now?

Love to everyone else, sorry I am dropping and I really ought to delve into at least one more box before bed... but waves and hugs all round. Oh and another not bothered vote for where we keep the thread, I see the benefits of either.

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2010 01:37

I'd like to know how come I'm considered a fence rider but Oops, Dizzy, and Springer aren't.HmmHmmHmm

Off to test Google to see if I find myself here.Wink

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2010 01:45

Well I didn't find myself BUT I find someone else.Blush I am laughing so hard I'm crying. The thread she first showed up on when I GOOGLED was a thread. Grin Seriously I'm CRYING I'm laughing so hard. DH is going to think I've gone mad. Maybe we do need to consider that NONgooglable thread. LOL!!!!

Out of respect for said person I bleeped the thread title.

I am still laughing hysterically.

OP posts:
luckoftheirish · 24/09/2010 07:11

Morning Smile

TS i wanna know what that thread was now you do make me chuckle Grin..

I am for the 30 day thread but happy to go with the majority Smile..

dd1 had a horrible nights sleep.. wouldn't go to sleep at all last night, kept playing in her room when she should have been going to sleep.. managed to find albus oil and put it in her eye ShockShock.. eventually put her in my bed and stayed with her til she went to sleep.. moved her when i went to bed and she came back again Hmm.. this going to school has sent her little brain into overdrive!!!

Albs.. not nice to get nasty callers hugs

Glad you are enjoying your new house pert

Dizzy hugs..

so excited for you cyteen GrinGrinGrin

watcha tweaks/crispy/hots/oops/lwfm/spring/vg anyone else missed

oopsandbabycoconuts · 24/09/2010 07:26

Morning LOTI

Morning Everyone else :)

DD's both slept again last night - I think the worst is over! DD1 refused to go to bed last night as she saw DH get the chinese menu out - we had 45 minutes of 'but Mummy I love chinese food, please Mummy can we go to the chinese restaurant, oh Mummy I love stcky ribs' ad infinitum. I eventually left her in bed yell to DH 'papa, papa you take me to the chinese' until she fell asleep halfway through one of her requests. I am going to persuade DH to take her to Wagamamasfor lunch.

Cyteen - I am so excited for you, enjoy your baking today and your last day being single :). Are you doing anything special tonight?

TS - I need to know what you googled!

Hotsie - have you tried Thor in a bed yet? he may surprise you and may sleep like a log.

Dizzy - hope DH had a great evening and you had a peaceful night sleep.

springaporesling · 24/09/2010 07:33

TS we all need to know what you googled!

Cyteen enjoy your last day as a singleton will be thinking of you tomorrow.

DH just got us 2 tickets for the F1 on Sunday Smile

Oops glad things seem to be taking a turn for the better sleepwise. DS also being more and more difficult to go to sleep if he thinks there's something more exciting going on!

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 08:38

Morning gals, hope you're all well? Just stopping in before the school run to say Hi and sorry for recent absence due to uni stuff.

Belated birthday to eldestlotigirl Smile I hope she had a lovely day.

cyteen tis pishing it down here this morning, weather looks proper filthy Hmm. What time is the big occasion tomorrow?

So, whatchoo all up to today?

cyteen · 24/09/2010 09:23

Morning all :) Thanks for all the excitement, I am proper excited/nervous now! First batch of hummingbird cakes in the oven

CC weather is ming here too, although BBC still saying 'sunny intervals' for tomorrow

oops nothing special planned for tonight, there's still too much to do! DP has to pick up/drop off a load of stuff and I am likely to have late night arrivals coming past as they get to the hotel, so just going to hang out at home and try and chill out a bit.

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 09:41

Morning Smile

TS you were fence sitting because of this comment: 'As for the thread stuff...I'm really torn BUT I suppose I could become more organized and print things before the 30 day mark. All the privacy talk is starting to get me paranoid.
Sounded like you were undecided rather than 'not bothered' as others had voiced. I am therefore leaving you on the fence Grin

Wow spring, what a fabulous treat. Enjoy Smile. I presume he will be flying you in by helicopter to the circuit? Grin

Yes cyteen, do let us know your hour by hour timetable until the big event. I LOVE weddings and all the build up. I had a brilliant evening the night before my wedding - chucked DH out of the house and 4 friends, my sister and 3YO niece came to stay

Morning Cece, we are doing jigsaws (DD2 really getting quite good now!) and have made some tomato, bacon & red lentil soup for lunch and fresh bread baking in the machine

Mind you, i think i might offer to take the gorgeous Poppette to Wagamamas instead Grin

pert lovely to hear you are still in love with your new abode. I would say, try and open up all the boxes asap, otherise they are like to stay in the same place and closed up for years

Sorry to hear of difficult bedtimes and disturbed nights Sad. We are going through a good phase at the mo where DD2 trots into her room, climbs into bed and pulls the duvet up, demanding 'twinkles'. I am hoping it is a long phase

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 11:19

crispy when i was a little girl twinkles had a whole different meaning Grin, it was my mums words for lady bits...Shock

Cyteen its deffo brightening up, rain has stopped and the wind is having a whale of a time.

spent this morning cleaning and sorting out old crap. My drawers are now half empty so I'm off into town to buy more Grin. Have also been decluttering and plan to get stuff on ebay this evening when boys are in bed - electric breast pump, 3 grobags, a 6-9 month boys christening/wedding suit..the list goes on!!

re privacy - I am a sheep and will follow the herd Grin

springaporesling · 24/09/2010 11:26

Crispy I don't think we'd get very far before having to land again!

Cyteen we got married the first day of the heatwave in 2003 - the day before was raining and miserable so you never know.

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2010 11:43

CYTEEN YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!!Grin

OMG! The thread I was rolling around laughing about was on the topic of SEXUAL TECHNIC. Of course that is spelled incorrectly thus causing even more hilarious postings. Our own XXXXXXX Wink had a few funny posts. (I'll let her share if she wants...if she remembers.) The thread was ages ago but it was the top find on my Google search when I keyed her name. Sadly mine produced nothing. I must not post interesting things.Sad I didn't Google anyone else for fear of what I might find. It reminded me about stumbling upon a thread while we were all pregnant. One of our then members had tried a certain sexual act for the first time and was asking questions. I remember thinking, "MY EYES! MY EYES!" LOL!Smile

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 12:07

Enough time for a glass of bubbles Spring Wink

Cyteen we have the rain here now and i will gladly keep it for you tomorrow so you can have some chance of rays of sunshine Smile

LOL TS Grin. Can't work out what you googled though Confused

tweakers · 24/09/2010 12:57

TS woah! that's quite freaky! i was reading that thread in the early hours of this morning whilst having party time with DD! i too had noticed a particular poster on there Wink
i have vague memories of the other thread you're talking about as well but not sure if its because i just stumbled across it or if it was me so i'll keep quiet on that particular one Grin

cyteen we had some rain on our wedding day and it didn't matter one little bit. i can't believe its tomorrow!!! soooo excited for you! what's J going to wear? arse! if i'd thought of it before just about two seconds ago, i could have posted you DS's suit he wore to our wedding. sorry!

oops so pleased you got some sleep last night

DH's last day of p leave today so as soon as ds wakes up, we're off to the harvester for lunch Smile
