Smile

Too much pressure and too little thread space left me with but one choice so here we are. Let's discuss further the private space because quite honestly the "private" space is not so "private" at the moment. I'm no detective BUT there's only a handful of threads over there and all are beckoning me to read through them. For the moment we are safer here. Like a new model car, we should wait and let the kinks be worked out by the folks that can't WAIT to be part of the "new thing."Smile

luckoftheirish · 24/09/2010 13:37

i googled too and didn't get what u two ere on about Grin i am rubbish with technology!!!

hope you have cracked open a bottle of bubbly cyteen [gri]GrinGrin

GladioliBuckets · 24/09/2010 13:56

LOL just had a lookGrin. Have to say the reason I'm not bothered about privacy is that I've changed my name so many times in the last 2yrs, only the dullest stalker in the world would have the patience to follow the trail. And because even I can't remember all those names, having the archive in one place in date order is v useful!

Good luck tomorrow Cyteen, can't wait to see some pics. Hope nothing disastrous happens and your ILs don't move in next doorWink like Tweakers'.

Kurt has loved having DS1 around, they are such good friends actually and DS1 is v gentle and inclusive with him. Lots of rolling about together this morning, then they played solidly for 2hrs with a Connect 4 at Crafty Coffee club.

cyteen · 24/09/2010 14:17

No bubbly yet loti, still too much to do Confused That's my frazzled face. I have however made 50 cakes - half hummingbird, half aphrodisiac - so once DP and I have eaten lunch, I shall commence frosting. Have also vacuumed the entire house, had a bath, tried on dress with underwear, altered my hair accessory...

tweakers thanks for the suit offer now anyway Grin Tis no problem as we have already got him a cute linen outfit from Monsoon: brown trousers and waistcoat, white shirt. DP's suit is brown so there will be a degree of coordination, assuming DS doesn't try and rip off his clothes in a fit of pique Hmm

Sorry I am too braindead to make posts that aren't about me, but I did get your lovely card today so thank you very much everyone (and a special thanks to hotterpotter's gorgeous DD) :)

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 15:58

I don't often pass these things on, but this has made me chuckle for the last few minutes

However that may be to do with the fact that i have spent 2hrs chopping veg for a vat of chutney i now have on the go.

Cyteen i am uber impressed that you are hoovering the house the day before your wedding. Respect for that!

Buckets how lovely your two boys are having such a fab time together Smile. We get glimpses of it, but outnumbered by wind ups at the mo

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 17:37

Oh, and going back to the traceability thing, if people know me and know i am on MN, it wouldn't take a genius to go to the Aug08 thread as they know when DD2 was born. Then pretty easy to work out who i am. Maybe i am overthinking things Confused

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 17:48

aaarrggghhh, the fucking research fucking ethics fucking committee have refused my research Angry. Having spent an hour sobbing about it, I am now much calmer and am going to see our R&D lady on Monday. So much bloody effort for a bunch of stuffy old twats to laugh into their sleeves at my first piffling attempt at writing a reserch proposal Angry. I had to sit before 10 of the stuffy old twats whilst they grilled me about what i wanted to do, sneering at what I thought were good ideas and kind of poking fun at me in an intellectually suprerior kind of way. Fucking fuckers. So now, I have to resubmit it and won't get approval til November and the bloody thing has to be in in March, and I can't even start the bastard research until I have ethical approval. AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH Angry

Rant over Smile

luckoftheirish · 24/09/2010 18:26

hugs cece... pour a huge glass of vino and hands it over

hotterpotter · 24/09/2010 18:32

Oh Cece the fucking fuckers Angry how disappointing for you Sad Hope the R&D lady can give you some good advice and you're successful next time

Crispy that was v funny Grin I especially liked the bit near the end where one of them puts his back out [old lady]

Cyteen glad you liked DD's card! Hope you've got it all done and can have a fairly relaxing evening. Will be thinking of you tomorrow xxx

Evening all, back soon but off to snuggle with my babies for half an hour before bed time Smile

hotterpotter · 24/09/2010 18:33

Wotcha loti Smile

RedLentil · 24/09/2010 18:40

What a horrid situation Cece.
I used to be on an ethics committee, and there were always a few members who saw it as a chance to do 'ha ha, bet you didn't think of that' lines ... Sad

If I can look the proposal over for you, let me know. Off to help dd2 onto a bike.

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2010 18:42

Crisper that's not over thinking it.Wink Remember me sleuthing through threads trying to find out who on our old list had birthed but hadn't stopped by to announce it yet. It's easy to do....even with NAME CHANGES.WinkWink

BTW, Crisps I had to send DH that video. That first chap had him PEGGED!GrinLOL!!!

Captain would you like me to pay a visit to a few stupids?? I can be persuasive.Smile

I'm suppose to be paying a bill. Side tracked as usual.

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 18:43

Grrrr cece. GITS Angry. You have worked so hard for it Sad

On a practical level, did they give feedback as to why? If not i would ask the R&D lady to ask them to give you specific pointers as to why they decided to diss your (i'm sure wonderful ideas) or could they suggest a direction they think it could be taken towards? Pretty pathetic to just say no without some constructive feedback

hots enjoy your cuddles Smile. We are having cuddles and the DDs are eating dessert chosen by them - raw carrots Hmm

Oh and i PMSL at the back bit on the video too Grin. It was american though so we need some proper feedback from across the pond...........

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 19:34

Thanks guys, I'll get the letter next week from ethics committee, giving feedback as to what needs changing. Whats annoying me is that noone told me 6 months ago to go through our own r&d dept first...they would have helped me put the proposal together for ethics committee. ggrrrrr. I saw someone this week for the first time, who was immensely helpful and we have put a new proposal together. The bummer is, I've lost so much time that I dont' have time to do the methods I wanted to do. Everything happens for a reason so I'm sure it'll be ok. And red, yes that would be lovely. I'll email you from work next week (the proposal is on my h drive at work)

brb

tweakers · 24/09/2010 19:40

that video was great...dh is the bbq man Grin

cc they are indeed fecking fuckers...crisp is right, hope you get feedback

DS continues to amaze me. we all went for lunch at harvester today and he was so good. DH and I had desert for the first time in months and months (we normally have to finish main meals quickly and get the bill before DS gets really bored and we have to leave) Today, he ate a huge bowl of salad, and then a big bowl of peas. The strange child refused all offers of chicken and chips Hmm

cyteen how are those butterflies in your tummy doing? have they appeared yet? Wink

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 19:41

dying my hair and doing a real half arsed job of it!!

Dh away overnight at a friends...both kids still wandering about having not had a bath yet Blush..I'm hoping they might want to lie in if they get to bed a lot bit later than normal Grin

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 19:43

lol tweakers the first thing O eats for sunday lunch is his peas! I offered him a bit of my baguette at lunch and he ate the lettuce first then the bread Grin. Ds1 is the polar opposite and won't touch peas or lettuce.

cyteen are you having wine this evening? i might join you when the boys are eventually asleep!!!

tweakers · 24/09/2010 19:51

ohh shall we all have a glass tonight? purely to toast cyteen of course Wink
T is in bed and P is asleep so i'm ready when you are cc Grin

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2010 19:53

bath running now. O very tired, hoping to be done in one hour max. any less and you can give me a medal Grin

tweakers · 24/09/2010 19:56

i managed a 10min bedtime tonight but to be fair, he didn't have a bath, refused story, climbed into bed as soon as his pyjamas were on and pretended to be asleep so i gave him a kiss and cuddle and left him to it!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 24/09/2010 19:57

I have just put both my girls in bed, in their own beds at the same time!! both are sleeping Shock

Cavey - what a load of crap! hope you manage to get things sorted soon.

Pizza for dinner then I may have to talk to DH as we are without DDs in a very long time! Back inabit later when we run out of thing to say!

GladioliBuckets · 24/09/2010 20:04

I'm on the rosé already to chill me out. DH muttered something about recording a song tonight as he has just bought a mic stand. Think it might be a Morrissey one - meep! Cheers, anyway ladiesGrin.

Cece There's only 10 of them, let's get medieval on their assesGrin. What are you dyeing your hair with and what colour? I can recommend Recital and thoroughly un-recommend Perfect 10, doesn't cover grey and fades v quick. Mine is currently'Castile' and I am loving the attention. Does need daily mascara and eyeliner though.

hotterpotter · 24/09/2010 20:05

Mine both asleep now, half an hour later than normal in the hope that this translates into half an hour later in the morning am also bringing wine o'clock forward by an hour (to now, cheers!) in the expectation of 6am as usual...

GladioliBuckets · 24/09/2010 20:06

Feeling guilty now about all the bedtime attention your LOs get. Poor old #3 gets the CBeebies goodnight song, popped into bed, lights out and door shut! No story - and I wonder why his language is slowBlush.

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/09/2010 20:39

OOH, wine. Lovely Smile. I have had a soak in the bath & read my book and just got a lovely glass of red. SmileSmile

I have 12 pots of green tomato chutney made on the kitchen table. I have chopped 6kg of veg this afternoon Shock. DD1 helped by peeling the onions but they were very fierce so she was weeping with tears. I asked if she wanted to stop but she said no, she would finish it!

buckets with our 2 being close in age, they get 2 stories together (by DH) and then DD1 has a poem with DH and i warble sing twinkles twinkle twinkle to DD2, so very little effort on my part too Grin

Well done tweakers and oops on a full contingent of sleepy babes Smile

cyteen · 24/09/2010 20:45

CC permit me to call your ethics committee a bunch of cunts. Hopefully your hard work can be repurposed, rather than just having to be junked?

Envy of all your quick bedtimes tonight. My plans for a lovely calm bath and bed were rather scuppered by my family turning up forty minutes later than they said they would. I should know better by now. Poor DS; the one thing I wanted was to put him in bed, bathed and hair washed, at a reasonable hour tonight because I know tomorrow is going to be knackering for him. But my folks were so late that by the time I got DS in the bath he barely let me sluice the dirt off, and there was no chance of a hairwash.

Anyway, he's asleep now and I am listening to one of my favourite albums with a glass of fizz in my hand :) About to crack on with the evening's tasks: take up DS's trousers, write bridesmaids' cards, maybe write my speech.
