Smile

Too much pressure and too little thread space left me with but one choice so here we are. Let's discuss further the private space because quite honestly the "private" space is not so "private" at the moment. I'm no detective BUT there's only a handful of threads over there and all are beckoning me to read through them. For the moment we are safer here. Like a new model car, we should wait and let the kinks be worked out by the folks that can't WAIT to be part of the "new thing."Smile

Tried the only cereal I have on hand with R this evening. She was not impressed. Will continue to pursue the cereal route. I love it in almost every form. Life would be so much easier if the girls loved it too. The wanted yogurt. Of course, we were out. I'm a crap kitchen stocker!

T had a FOUR hour nap today!!! AND it overlapped with P sleeping so i got to have a whole hour's nap myself Grin

alittlebitshy · 02/10/2010 18:03

ooh i love those days when they have looong naps. especially when they don not mean that they'll be singing in bed til late beacuse of too much sleep (not that i ever let him sleep later than 3.30 so that bedtime is NOT disturbed)
yay for your sleep tweaks. I have to admit i have taken to my bed twice this week while H has been sleeping - i seem to be so tired at the moment. but i know that that is just luxury and is nowhere near necessary - whereas for you it is survival (newborn and toddler - neither of whom are great at sleep:().

dd has been an absolute star with her homework today. she spent 1.5 hours writing a story for english, and has phone-interviewed my dad about living in the olden days and is in the process of typing up her notes. Proud mummy. just science to finish now (the cat thing i had on facebook - all she needs to do is tally her results)!

xfactor later. yay.

luckoftheirish · 02/10/2010 18:17

wow albs well done dd thats sounds like alot of homework Shock..

lovely play date this afo with the prospect of a wed night meet up with other mums and a joint venture to the gym nxt sat to do kiddies things Smile...cracking on with life for me and being strong Smile

tweakers · 02/10/2010 18:26

its pouring with rain here but DS and I had a lovely walk around the park. hoping its blown a few cobwebs away and tired him sufficiently for bed tonight

sleep is overrated Wink

saw mw yday, she checked my bits and said i had to book a gp's appt before the weekend or go straight to a&e (she said this at 5.30pm!) i phoned them from her office and earliest appt was tuesday! she took the phone off me and got me an appt at 5.35 yday! poor DS had to witness me almost jumping off the bed in pain when i was examined. anyhow, short story is that i'm infected, not healing,in a fair bit of constant pain (we're talking lemon juice in a cut type pain) and need a second dose of anti-bs. gp said if this course doesn't sort it (high dose, 3 times a day) then i need surgery on tuesday. so please keep your fingers crossed girls

but you know what, it was all worth it for little Pea [soppy]

tweakers · 02/10/2010 18:28

albs its great that J seems to be enjoying her homework so much!

loti cracking on with life for me and being strong
brill brill news! Grin

alittlebitshy · 02/10/2010 18:35

ooooh tweaks ouchy.

she enjoys her homework when she is chilled and when it is something project like, but the day to day maths sheets etc frustrate her a bit when she is feeling tired and a bit worn down. She lacks organization. not surprising given that she is only 7 - but i am getting so frustrated when she comes home without certain sheets/reading book/jumper/water bottle. sigh - just like her father though Grin.

luckoftheirish · 02/10/2010 18:46

ouch tweaky really hope the antibs work very quickly for you hugs

tweakers · 02/10/2010 19:28

albs is M that bad? he always comes across as v organised!

loti, worry not, these things happen, i'll be fine...eventually!

CrispyTheCrisp · 02/10/2010 19:40

Ouch tweakers, you have not been so lucky with your 'bits' have you? Sad. Hope the medication does its job asap

We have had a fab day. Sun shining, so in the garden ALL day. Have cleared up the tomatoes detritus, swept & power washed the patio, cleaned the playhouse, restacked the log pile (with brilliant help from DD2 who loved it whilst DD1 was asleep in her bed HmmGrin). Then played some games with DD1 who had been desperate to all day, then DD1 and i went and shared a bath while DH cooked tea Smile

Now watching crap factor, having missed Strictly as it was on so bloody early Angry

LOTI am LOVING the new, confident, socialising you Smile. Enjoy it lovely, you surely deserve to Smile

ALBS I am really not looking forward to having to oirganise all that homework! Well done all of you

hots as i was willing to share my winnings, i only think you should too. Fairs fair WinkGrin

Hi TS and any lurkers....

tweakers · 02/10/2010 20:12

oh and i forgot to share my exciting (for us) news.... dh and i are going to meet our allotment tomorrow Grin
we've been on a waiting list for 2yrs!
neither of us have got any idea when and how to grow stuff so any tips gratefully received!

tweakers · 02/10/2010 20:13

your day sounds really lovely crisp Smile

oopsandbabycoconuts · 02/10/2010 20:14

Tweaky - fingers and toes and knees crossed for you.

LOTI - You sound like you are getting your spark back.

Crispy - your day sound lovely.

We had lunch at out then went ot meet DD1's teacher at the park so they could get to know each other better and hopefully avoid the screaming. DD1 invited herself back to MissJ's house for tea and a snack poor soontobe MrJ had his afternoon wrecked by a very bubbly 2 yearold who jumped in the front door when he opened it and said 'tadaaaa, Nice to meet you, woohoo' and made herself at home. Hmm

We are off to Peppa tomorrow.

ALBS - J sounds like a typical 7 year old :)

Helloooo TS, Cavey, VG, Red and anyone I missed :)

oopsandbabycoconuts · 02/10/2010 20:18

ooh and we stupidly bravely took DD1 out in pants today - no accidents and held until I got the fabbo potty out. Thanks Crispy for the recommendation.

cyteen · 02/10/2010 20:29

tweakers hope you feel better soon. Allotment tips from a fellow total novice: don't plant loads of courgette plants, one or two will more than suffice; don't be afraid to just go for it and bung stuff in the ground on a whim; do grow beans and leave the roots in the ground when you cut the plants down, as they will fix nitrogen in the soil (apparently this is important).

tweakers · 02/10/2010 20:58

thanks cyteen! that might just be enough for me to bluff my way through our first meeting tomorrow Grin

cyteen · 02/10/2010 21:02

Oh, and get ready for some hardcore weeding.

GladioliBuckets · 02/10/2010 21:56

Who needs cheering up? Read these out loud and laugh at your own voice.

tweakers · 02/10/2010 22:08

weeding? me? erm no, surely that's why we've bred!
