Me too, was so glad to drop DD off at pre school and have some down time. DS is in bed and I'm relaxing Grin

tinkortreat · 01/11/2010 15:22

me too

Rrrrayray · 01/11/2010 16:05

Tink- surprised to hear DD back at school. Thought all Hampshire schools had Mon and Tues Inset? Must just be Nr. Us then!

Haven't time to read all. Esme having frustrated tantrums today, think at fact can't totally communicate everything, that and that i woke her from her nap in car as else wont sleep tonight!

Babysitter coming later, as going to see Comedian Lee Mack with friends.

moosemama · 01/11/2010 16:15

Mine aren't back at school until tomorrow. Fortunately we have had a really nice day together today. Such a huge relief, as the rest of the holidays have been awful, particularly with ds1.

Pat - congratulations on the safe arrival of your new nephew. Hope you managed to get some lovely cuddles this weekend.

Tree - I am so with you on the needing to do some exercise. I have regained all the weight I lost earlier in the year - and then some. I was mulling over trying to start walking again this week. It will only be short distances at first though, as I still have a lot of pain in my ankle. Such a pita that we live so far apart, or we could go walking together and use one of my dogs as a prop! Grin Maybe we could be virtual walking partners instead to try and keep each other motivated?

Well, I finally had my hair cut and highlighted this morning. It took from 9.15 until 12.45 to get it all done as it was so long and although my hair is really fine, I have lots of it iyswim. I'm naturally a dark brunette with the odd red tone here and there and my hair was down to the chest band of my bra in length! Shock I've had two inches off the length and lots of layers put in, plus a messy fringe. Dh came home for lunch just after I had it done and said "I thought you were having your hair cut this morning?" Hmm Angry Men - huh! Ds1 also said, "Oh I didn't realise you'd had it done" despite being in and out of the room the whole time and actually seeing me having it cut and with flipping foils all over my head Confused and ds1 said "I did notice, but I don't have to comment" again Confused and Hmm. Dd just said "Mummy's hair" and "Mess!" (referring to the not insubstantial amount of hair littering the floor. Grin

Suppose I ought to be thinking about what to cook for tea. We have just about everything in, but I still seem to be lacking in motivation inspiration this afternoon.

moosemama · 01/11/2010 16:20

Cross posted with you Ray, as have to keep stopping typing to answer questions and find things for the dcs.

Its fun this tantrumming business isn't it? Hmm

Enjoy your night out. We are out on Wednesday evening. In fact we are off at lunchtime and won't be back until the wee hours. Going out for a meal with our oldest friend then off to see Christy Moore in concert, but as its an hour away from where we live, dh has booked the afternoon off and Mum is having the dcs. (Double school pick-up run on a Wednesday as well, as ds1 goes to chess club so you have to go back again an hour after picking up ds2. Poor Mum, I don't envy her, but I am sooo glad I don't have to do it this week Grin.)

tinkortreat · 02/11/2010 10:40

Morning

Hi mm bet it was great 2 hv hair done

Hi rray bracken can get stroppy 2

All good here

moosemama · 02/11/2010 11:44

Morning Tink.

Can't get used to my hair. It looks the same but different and it takes so little to confuse me these days! Confused Grin

Having a quiet day here, recovering from half-term. Dd is missing the boys and keeps wandering around saying "where ds1?" and "where ds2" then "ds1 at school" "ds2 at school". She's not impressed at all.

Think I'll get the finger paints out in a bit to distract her.

terrordelivery · 02/11/2010 14:02

Hi all. Bookmarking as flying through...

chefswife · 03/11/2010 00:54

Moose "It looks the same but different and it takes so little to confuse me these days!" lol

Very quiet here today. Which is good for me because I am tired today. Went for coffee with a friend and her 3 month old... her 2 year old is in daycare. The DD and I ran errands, washed our duvet at the laundrette, did some shopping for a gift for another mom friend, took back deposits, took garbage to the dump, (which is always a laugh with those guys... gotta make them some nice baked goods for Xmas) came home and popped her to bed for nearly 3 hours!!! Mama got about 2 of them for sleep too. Grin

Oh ya,,, did I mention that the day started with talking with MIL on the phone and listening all about the weather in Ontario and the migrant blue jays eating all the bird food and what baked goods, jams and meat pies she's doing for the Xmas fair. Blah. Wink

Ciao for now.

tinkortreat · 03/11/2010 09:17

mm - know what u mean about recovering from half term we didnt have a good week atall!! what with car probs etc

moosemama · 03/11/2010 09:51

Morning,

It's true though Chef - I am easily confused. Its a sad state of affairs - down to old age and too many children y'know. Wink Grin

Wow! At 3 hours sleep. Dd seems to be heading in the direction of dropping her daytime nap, which I am not at all happy about. Hmm Both her brothers napped for two hours every afternoon, right up until the week before they started school full time.

On the advice of my hairdresser, I went to bed with wet hair curled into Princess Leah (Star Wars) style ear muffs last night and woke up with lovely curls this morning. Unfortunately, they were sopping wet curls. Hmm Had to take them out and tie my hair back in a more respectable way for the school run and then shove my ear muffs back on to finish drying when I got back. I am hoping I will end up with lovely curls for my night out. Am now praying nobody comes to the door, as I look ridiculous. Blush

Tink, it was lovely having they boys back at school yesterday, but the after school stuff took forever. Both boys had spellings and reading to do. Ds1 had times tables homework and touch typing practise and both boys had to do their pilates practise as well. Got home from school at 3.25 and didn't stop working with them until 5.00! Shock We were all exhausted.

Still, I am off out tonight, so won't have to do any homework at all - yay! It feels really naughty for some reason.

We are picking they boys up ourselves now, as we don't need to get away so early and dh has booked the afternoon off. Mum is having them for all the post school run snack, homework etc chaos though.

Right, that's my rest over. Back to the grindstone.

chefswife · 03/11/2010 16:56

Moose Have a fab night out.

Teaandcakeplease · 03/11/2010 19:08

Chef your DD is so good, 3 hr nap is fantastic! My two sleep well most of the time. It rocks! How's the noise with your uncle?

Moose - can we see a pic of your hair do? Enjoy your meal with the old friend and the Christy Moore concert, you deserve it lovely.

Not much to report here, DCs still adjusting to the clock change, they have both had a nasty vomiting bug which is hopefully now passing, they both seemed a bit better today, although neither of them ate much.

I'm so tired at the moment and struggling with motivation as ever. I can't remember the last time I washed my windows inside or dusted Shock The shame. Not too bad on hoovering though. Need to go and wash up now.

Teaandcakeplease · 03/11/2010 19:10

I have a very quiet thread going on Winter Wonderland

Has anyone heard from 120 lately?

Lenni · 03/11/2010 21:20

sorry I know I am rubbish atm.

Lenni · 03/11/2010 21:21

Oh yes, naps... they are being gradually eroded here too. But then DD stopped at 15mo so I feel blessed to have got this far with DS. I'd like just a little longer though Grin is that being greedy?

tinkortreat · 04/11/2010 09:21

morning Grin

mm - after school sounds hectic!!

hi lenni Grin

moosemama · 04/11/2010 10:10

Morning folks

Well, the concert was absolutely amazing, which was good. I laughed, sobbed and sang along when instructed and Christy Moore was on cracking form, probably the best I've ever seen him. (Think 'Live at the Point' for anyone that knows him)

Not so good was that it took us two hours to get to Nottingham (normally no longer than an hour's drive), then the restaurant didn't serve our food till 15 minutes before curtain up - brought the wrong food for half of us, didn't bring some of the food we'd ordered and charged us for food and drinks we didn't have, resulting in us slinking into some empty seats at the back rather than the centre stage seats three rows from the front that we'd paid for. Hmm Angry (Also my meal was practically inedible.) There were only three tables of people in the restaurant as well, so its not as if they were run off their feet.

Even more frustrating were several other people who were also late (much later than us), but had no qualms about disturbing everyone to get to their seats rather than sitting in the unallocated ones. Also all the idiots that seemed to think it was ok to get up and go to the toilet all the way through the concert making a whole row of people shift so they could get out every time. I have honestly never seen so many people get up and go in and out of a concert - I've never been anywhere else that would allow it. I think they must all have weak bladders in Nottingham or something. Grin Not only do I personally find it very distracting, I also feel its highly disrespectful of the performer.

To cap it all, I came down with a migraine that really started hotting up about half way through the concert - I was determined not to let it spoil my enjoyment though.

Feel like pants today rotten old period started when I got back last night (that explains the migraine) and dd is exhausted after refusing to sleep until nearly 10.00 for Grandma last night, so we are schnuggled ont he sofa with a blanket and CBeebies for company.

Dh went to fetch the boys from school yesterday as it was pouring down and I'd just finished doing my hair and make-up. Unfortunately ds1's teacher came out to talk to him and said he's been awful since he came back after half-term, finding it impossible to concentrate and listen to instructions and also being downright defiant. Sad (Obviously that didn't help my stress levels last night and probably also contributed to to the migraine.)

Spoke to ds about it this morning and it would seem the bullying has started again. His teacher did mention 'an incident' yesterday lunchtime that she said was 'dealt with'. What she failed to tell us was that it involved his old bully, who despite being told off twice, continued to hit and kick him behind the dinner lady's back! She also failed to tell us that ds had told the dinner lady twice that it was happening and she told him that she was 'sure X didn't mean it". I am obviously furious about this. Not only is he being bullied again, but his designated adult for lunchtimes ignored his pleas for help. Angry

Sorry, this post has turned out rather large and ranty. Am feeling, tired, hormonal, crampy and angry this morning. Think I'll slink off and get a coffee and some of my blueberry flapjacks.

Teaandcakeplease · 04/11/2010 10:17

Awww Moose how rubbish. Maybe they had drunk too much beer and that's why they kept needing the loo. Big ((hugs)) lovely. So sorry about DS, really hope they can deal with the bully asap once you've "laid the smack down" (as I like to say, WWF fan Wink) Anyway really you sort it out very very soon and they listen x

Teaandcakeplease · 04/11/2010 10:17

Missing word = hope Blush oops

moosemama · 04/11/2010 10:23

Thanks Tea.

I have just sat down with a cup of coffee, some flapjack and 2 full box files, 3 diaries and an archive box all of which pertain to ds1 and his education! Shock

I need to update his journal (log of incidents, meetings, illness etc) which I have been a bit lax with over the past couple of weeks. Then prepare for his Education Plan review meeting (involving my gathering evidence to support my suggestions, plus some stuff the lovely people on the SN boards have suggested and copies of examples of his work over the past couple of years and from this year so far.) - which I am dreading and call the Ed Psych to let her know when it is as she wants to attend.

... and there was me thinking I was going to have a quiet day. Hmm

treedelivery · 04/11/2010 11:43

Popped in to see how it went Moose. Sorry to hear about all the rubbish stuff, but great the concert was good though.

Sad for ds1. Hope all the paperwork comes together for you.

Tea - I can safetly say I have never cleaned the inside of my windows. Maybe my mum does them? They seem ok.........maybe that's why I always think it's going to be a foggy day Grin

moosemama · 04/11/2010 12:39

Hi Tree

Despite all the annoyances, I did enjoy myself last night. The concert was so good, it kind of wiped out the other stuff.

I have just spent two hours going through all the paperwork, diaries and letters and making sure they are all up to date and cross referenced - and I've still barely scratched the surface in preparing for the review meeting. Think I need to get my head around what I want to take/present and put it together from there. Am definitely floundering around in the dark making very little progress at the moment. Confused

I did my living room windows before the Ed Psych visit - it was like someone suddenly switched the lights on. Blush I really didn't think they looked all that bad though. Blush again!

tinkortreat · 04/11/2010 14:37

oh no mm

moosemama · 04/11/2010 14:44

Hi Tink.

Am dreading the school run. Have to go out in 15 minutes and so don't want to have to see ds1's teacher or hear about any more bullying. Sad
