Oh Tink, forgot to say so sorry about the car, glad you have it sorted in time for next week. I have really enjoyed these holidays. so Sad about going back soon, still only 6 and a bit weeks till xmas hols!
Must be hard without car though, I am popping round to see a friend tomorrow afternoon who has been carless with 3 DC's all week, she has done a lot of walking but I think she has been a bit pissed off as there is some good halloween stuff going on this week and she hasn't been able to get to any of it.

Just spoke to SIL on the phone. She is due with DC2 on the 19th Nov but has developed Obstetric choleostasis and they are going to induce her next week at 37.5 weeks because of increased risk of stillbirth. So although worried a bit also quite excited that my new niece/nephew will be here earlier than expected!! Going to a family wedding on the 12th Nov so should be able to tie that in with a visit too hopefully[hgrin]

Tea- you should definitely camp out here soon, so much to do for kids and it is lovely. Not that far from you either, really as you could get here in an hour and half. How has your half term been? DD will be back at pre-school soon and that will help. It is so hard doing things on a budget too, we only afforded cadbury world because DH and I did another car boot on sunday, got £75 this week so I think we will call it quits for now! Got rid of loads of stuff in preparation for xmas though!

Chef and HKZ- How are you ladies? Chef are you less tired? HKZ are you house-hunting up north this week? Where is 120? Has she sold her flat yet?

Moose- Your DD sounds like E when she was small, I was only thinking the other day that I could have proper conversaions with her when she was 18mo! When she was Z's age she was in a big girls bed because she had actually asked me if she could have 'a big girl's bed please mummy'[hshock].
Z couldn't be more different, he has a delightful chatty nonsense babble but can say 'Gordon' 'Percy' 'James' 'Bus' 'Helicoptor' 'Tractor' and the like all perfectly. Anything not related to Thomas, transport or food (lunch, breakfast, snack, dinner etc....) doesn't make much sense!
Although he can ask 'Where's.......?' or say 'There's ...... or 'This way' so I guess he is putting sentences together just a lot slower than DD!

Weight wise I think he is about 27/28lbs but I am not certain. He still seems quiet short I think, short in the leg as some 12-18mth trousers still fit nicely, 18-24mth for most tops, vests, sleepsuits etc....

Oh yes, anyone else planning to keep their PLB's in sleepsuits forever and ever???? I told DH yesterday that I was keeping Z in them till he was about 3 and he looked at me like I was mental, well AIBU??[hgrin]

moosemama · 28/10/2010 21:35

Pat, no you absolutely are not BU. I love dd in sleepsuits and can't help giving her big hugs all the time when she's in one. I sometimes even put her in one for the day if we are having a quiet day at home, as she's just so much more comfortable in them than in 'real' clothes.

I was also convinced this is the right thing to do, first by the thread about firsts that don't make it into the baby record book, which had shocking numbers of babies that took off their own nappies and smeared poo around their cots. Shock Then by my neice telling me yesterday that her ten months old takes his nappy off and wees in his cot, but "well, he's too old for sleepsuits now isn't he, he should be in proper pyjamas". Shock and Sad I told her all of mine have stayed in sleepsuits and grobags for as long as possible. I have never once had one of my dcs take their own nappy off and/or wee or smear anything they shouldn't and I intend to keep it that way. Grin

Had to laugh at Z's Thomas, transport and food related speech. Ds2 was just the same, unfortunately dd also has a penchant for Thomas - and there was me thinking I would be spared Thomas the flipping Tank this time round. Serves me right for being sexist I suppose. Hmm

Tink, great that your dh sorted out a new car so quickly, I could do with him giving my dh a few tips on getting things done. Dh is a prolific procrastinator on big jobs. He seems to fill his time with endless little bits of things and never gets the big stuff done. Drives me bonkers.

OMG Books, you've got a canny one there. What an escapoligist! (sp?) Dd always has a poppered vest under her sleepsuit, so hopefully she won't work all that out for a while. She also has a grobag that zips from the top and the bottom and this seems to puzzle her - for the moment ...

My boys have only got to grips with buttons properly in the last twelve months or so ... dyspraxia is such a pita. It means you have to do so many things for them for so much longer than other parents do.

We have the tantrums with dd already too. Never had it with either of the boys, so its come as quite a shock. Fotunately they seem to quite short lived - for now ... (are we sensing a theme here? Grin)

Today she got really upset about watching herself, me and ds2 on a video Mum had filmed on her phone. It was really odd. She was inconsolable and just kept saying "no Mummy" and pointing at the screen. The only thing I could think was that she didn't like there being two of me so-to-speak, as it was when I spoke on the video that she started to get upset. Confused

When your shoulder is better, would a buggy board help you get around a bit more? They do quite a few different ones now that fit different types of buggy. I have also seen one that looks a bit like a step so that the older child can actually sit down facing you, while the younger one sits in the buggy. I'll have a quick google and see if I can find one for you.

moosemama · 28/10/2010 22:12

Right, have managed to find

this

this

this

and this

with a two minute google. So there must be a solution out there for you somewhere. Most of them seem to sell different adaptors for different buggies as well.

By a straight bar, do you mean the handle is all in one rather than two separate handles? If so, looking at a few pictures online its possible that his head might not get in the way if he's sitting on one of the stepped versions.

Another alternative is the Strolli Rider. Its basically a little bike that attaches to the back of the buggy. Main problem is that, although its easy to attach and detach, it doesn't fold up, so not good for going anywhere with restricted space, but great for school/nursery runs and trips to the park etc. Also pretty pricey. here

moosemama · 28/10/2010 22:27

Cross posted. Grin

I think there is another company that does a fold up side seat, but can't for the life of me remember what its called. Will think on and get back to you if I remember.

moosemama · 28/10/2010 22:29

Still can't remember, but more info on the Buggypod from the manufacturer's website here.

Quiet on here!!!

Just popped in to say that I have a new nephew[hgrin]!

My SIL was induced last night and it was all very quick. He was 7lb 13oz not bad for 3 weeks early!

So excited, I am sneaking off down to sussex in a minute for a flying visit.......can't wait!

DD less than impressed with yet another boy in the family[hgrin]

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 30/10/2010 11:11

i managed to get take that tickets Grin

ging sat 9th of july cant wait

Teaandcakeplease · 30/10/2010 20:49

Tink so jealous about TT tickets Envy

Can't believe the clocks change tonight, somehow when the children wake at the earlier time it seems worse to me Confused

chefswife · 31/10/2010 05:14

Pat Congrats on the new edition to the family.

There is a massive boom of growing family's around here, its amazing. I really love how ours are going to have birthdays nicely apart and far enough from holidays. I love the balance and ease of organizing, that's all. lol
DD was incredibly uncontrollable at gymnastics today. May have just been me getting hormonal, but one of the dad's stepped in and grabbed her a couple of times. The dad's that come get kid rotation duty on the stragglers cause you know there's always a couple every week. Grin We have developed this nicely meshed group of parents and kids. And now with DH having Sundays off, he's getting to know them too. Sounds corny, Grin

Hope he gets home soon. Don't know how much longer I can stay awake.

Ohh, I was putting out the garbage tonight and heard two owls hooting at each other. So lovely.

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 31/10/2010 08:54

morning Grin

anyone doing anything for halloween?

we carved a pumpkin last nmite and girls have witch outfits to wear

enjoyed arly night last nite Grin

hi tea and chef Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 31/10/2010 09:07

I think Lenni is Tink, her house looks awesome.

Chef sounds idyllic with the owls, did you go for your run?

chefswife · 31/10/2010 15:52

No run yet, but we just got up and it is sunny out today.

We're carving our pumpkins right after breakfast. We are taking them over to a friends place for a little Halloween party and hand out candies. I did up little goodie bags for DD's friends and handed them out at gymnastics yesterday; a lollipop, piece of chocolate, couple of cookies I made in the shapes of cats and a mini clementine. I'm the mom geek. Actually I think it has more to do with it being my only creative outlet. We are heading over to the mall for trick or treating and fun and games. Our neighbourhood has very young families and so trick or treating is taken to the shopping centre cause its easier.

Happy Halloween Everyone.

Evening all.

That is a super animation hkz. It's actually a good insght isn't it? I think the noises must be real [hgrin] Awww.

Mind you, not missing work in the slightest this weekend. It is so nice to be around for the weekend.

Great news Pat - lucky you getting a newborn cuddle.

Tink - [henvy] at the TT tickets. Well done! ANd good luck coming off the AD's. Hope it goes well for you.

Am thinking of trying to begin some walking, working up to a shuffle, then up to a slow to a trot. I can currently run about 20 metres, very badly. [hshock][hblush] So clearly I need to take this real slow. Even at my fittest and slimmest I could only run about 30mins superslow, so I know that cardiac fitnes is an issue for me. Was wondering about weight watchers or slimming world, it just seems so expensive to be told not to eat lard and fill up on veg. I dunno. BMI 30 though, I have to change. My heart will give out.

Apologies for selfish post, I haven't really read either [hblush]

chefswife · 01/11/2010 02:28

HKZ Nice video.

Terror I lost 50lbs in 7 months with running. When I started I remember what a lumbering fool I must have looked like to people coming at me on the trails. lol I remember the first time I ran a 10 minute mile, on the treadmill mind you, but nonetheless. And when I finished that 10 k race, I was ecstatic. Join a running group; they do wonders for motivation and physicality. Anyhow, I'll stop spouting my running stuff. Grin

DD did not want anything to do with Halloween except to look at the lit pumpkins in the driveway. Ah well. I didn't feel much like going to either place we were suppose to be at today anyhow. Blush Love when you can use your kid as an excuse to cope out. lol

Hope your Halloween was spooky. [hsmile]

tinkortreat · 01/11/2010 10:41
