Pat Oh the damn lice. I'm dreading those days. I remember my mom use to put the pillows in the freezer, (makes them dormant) then the dryer which knocks them all out and kills them, apparently.

Books Nice to have friends in the health industry eh? NIce to hear you shoulder is doing better.

Going to buy two dining room chairs today. Tired of sitting on stools. The chairs are on half price and we just got our dental cheque (took long enough) so, some shopping is in order today. [hgrin]

Ciao for now.

I'm lurking and reading Smile Should be finishing my TMA though Blush Soooo tired, last night was not a good night here. DS woke at 3am for a short while and chattered to himself in his cot. I tried to go back to sleep and couldn't, then DD cried out in her sleep at 4am and I was still awake and struggling to fall asleep again and then at 6am DD woke from a bad dream and woke DS, so it was all hands on deck from 6am The trouble is that having been a lone parent for almost a year and not ever having a lie in, one bad night seems to knock me sideways IYSWIM? Last night despite having one ear plug in to muffle the sound a little, I still woke to every noise they both made next door [hhmm]

Sometimes wish the outlaws or my parents were more suitable to take the DCs overnight for me here and there, or that H lived in more suitable accomodation to have them overnight. Ahhh well I do love always having them here, so I mustn't complain [hgrin]

My mum used some foul smelling stuff on me and my twin brother as children. It did seem to work at the time. Not looking forward to my LOs coming home with them either.

Wish me luck for tomorrow, I had a bit of a run in with a pre school helper on Tuesday and haven't seen her since. Not looking forward to tomorrow

Caveat: Apologies for any typos or terrible grammar, I am having trouble focusing as I'm so tired.

treedelivery · 20/10/2010 21:36

Evening, just a flying visit so no one forgets me.

All hands on deck here as dh is up to eye balls in UCAS forms and assessment folders Soooo tedious. Has to be done.

chefswife · 21/10/2010 02:00

Ah yes Tree, the UCAS forms... not for the light of heart indeed. lol.

Tea Sorry for your not being able to get a night's rest. I complain a lot and even though I feel like a single mom through DH's work week, its nothing on a real single mom.

Retail therapy brought me 2 dining room chairs, 2 pairs of longjohn's for DH, a red sweater for me, a comfy blanket for curl-up's on the couch, a bath mat and one fancy shmancy water jug for DD that cost $22 but was kinda cute. [hgrin] Off to clean up after dinner. Ciao Bella's

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 21/10/2010 09:33

morning Grin

books - ye for shoulder Grin

tea - sorry for bad night and sure today wil be fine Wink

hi tree good luck 2 your dsh and forms

hi chef Grin
yah for shopping sound great Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 21/10/2010 09:57

Ahh Chef you're cooking a baby though Smile Exhausting stuff, especially with UG above. I used to joke that it felt like I'd been run over by a bus as I was so tired when pregnant in the early days. Although that saying is a bizarre one in the UK, as I'm pretty sure if you'd been hit by a bus, you wouldn't be feeling tired you'd been in a lot of pain Hmm

Anyway I digress, helper at pre school was doing the register so I smiled and pretended nothing had happened the other day [denial emoticon]

Last night was a better night thank goodness. Must finish this essay, just waiting for the caffeine to do its work Grin

PatTheHammerHouseofHorror · 21/10/2010 10:29

Thanks for the advice on nits (on here and from moose who is still reading but no time to post I think, so big hugs to her).

Dog- I am trying really hard to tie her hair bak tight but its really flyaway, tempted to put hairspray on to stop the strands flying out.
Clever Isla doing a potty-poo!! I am bypassing the potty with Z and plan to do him straight onto the toilet as I HATED the potty with DD, just found it all a bit yucky. So far he sits on the toilet (on his seat) before and after a bath for about 1 minute, pokes his willy down and says 'weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, weeeeeeeeee' and then asks for toilet paper. He has not actually DONE one yet but just geting used to it, lol!

So,we have used lyclear which is natural based and seems to have done the job. I am dry combing every day and going to wet comb every other day but not got anymore out so far. Going to get some leave in spray today, apparantly morrisons have a good tea-tree one. Also going to order the cocnut shampoo and conditioner that moose recommended. washed all the pillowcases, towels, hairbrushes, hats etc but research online does seem to suggest they don't live for very long once off the head. It feels like a war!!!

Told them at school and they said that they don't send a letter out until 2 or 3 are infected. I was a bit Shock at this as it only takes one child obviously to keep spreading it around so I decided to tell all the mums who I know have DD's that play with mine. It was quite embarrassing but most of them have got older DC's so had all been there before and actually said it was a good reminder to check as they hadn't been doing it regularly.

anyway, enough of the nit-talk as I am now scratching again!!!

Chef- good purchases, hope your feeling less tired now. I remember it lasted exactly 12 weeks with both of mine and then I felt fine till the very last few weeks.

Tea- good you had a better night. I don't know how you manage without a lie-in. Are ther any close friends who would maybe just have one for a sleepover occasionally? Hope your exH gets himself sorted soon and then at least you may be able to look forward to some respite when they are a bit older.

Books- good news on the shoulder.

Ray- How has E been in the night, any better? I have to say that I have found taking them into bed for the odd cuddle when they are unsettled through illness is not habit-forming at this stage. They are old enough to know that the cot/bed is there main sleeping place. So don't beat yourself up about it if it feels like the natural thing to do. We have never made an issue of it with ours and haven't had any problems

Tree- hope the form filling is going ok. You must be really looking forward to next week. How is the car?

Tink- nice floor! I am jealous, DH won't ever do anything handy, he just makes such a hash of itEnvy

Half-term starts today for me, DD finishes tomorrow, hurrah!!!!!!!!

Been SUCH a long term, DH has his first full week off next week so we are looking forward to some family time together, rather than a few months ago I would have been dreading it a little so thats a definite improvement. Last relate session for now last night, we have run out of money for it but also have reached a stage where we want to try on our own for a bit, talking is so much easier now so I think it has really helped

Oh, books.....we are going to cadburyworld on tuesday, have you been? any tips?

have a nice day all x

treedelivery · 21/10/2010 12:57

Aw Pat. Have a lovely week of family time, I'm just so sad for you that it got to the stage it did. Also oddly concerned I hadn't realised, which is utterly bonkers given I have never clapped eyes on you in rl HmmConfusedGrin I bet you have loads of coping tools now, that will really help wth all the niggly family stuff. I could do with those!

I am reading, just not replying. Can we have linky to the coconut stuff, or does any coconut stuff do?

How is it going Ray? T'was the house of no sleep here last night, thought of you at 4am and wondered if you were up too.

Nice shoppng Chef, and nice flooring Tink.

White company christmas arrived today. Ooooh. Although, ama bit pissed off they aren't doing the cashmere/cotton mix baby stuff. It's the stuff of legend in this house and it's tradition!

DD is just asleep, then it's the autumn fair in an hour. So hope she doesn't want a mega snooze. It's our late night, dinner is at 6 instead of 5, and she really struggles. As do I.

Waves to Moose, and all. Now, do I sort my hair and face, or do some proof reading etc on dg's ucas.....

treedelivery · 21/10/2010 12:58

BTW - really good to hear that dh is doing the part time thing Lenni. It sounds like you have a great year ahead.

Hi all.

Appologies for asking for advice, and then disapeering.

DH had yesterday off so when he was home from Training on Tuesday chucked all in car and headed back to Brighton to stay with friends. Had a lovely time, but of course worst thing possible for poor Esme sleeping.

Slept on and off in the travel cot, but spent most of night in with us. First time ever had her in bed with us, and was NOT a good experience. She was sound asleep SIDEWAYS in the bed and i got next to NO sleep. Eventually shifted her back into travel cot for a little sleep!

When got home last night decided that this HAS to be sorted, Clearly just wants to be helped back to sleep, as if picked up and cuddled asleep again in moments. So was mean/sensible mummy last night and just laid her down with a kiss on head when woke, and refused to go back in for 10 mins. Woke 3 times i think and usually went back to sleep with 1 lay down and a bit of crying. Fingers crossed gets better tonight, and back to usual before long. Problem here is i have indeed been spoilt by an excellent Sleeper, so its a real shock to the system. Thanks for all your advice & kind words

Pat bugger about nits. Afraid No advice here, as haven't encountered the Critters!

Dog Made up for you that joss doing so well. Fingers crossed 2nd Session will make things even better after feeds, etc.

Tree pain in arse about Car. White Company mag arrived here too. Mmmm, Lush. Bought some sheets from there in Sale, no point in ever buying anything there at full price as they have bloody good sales sales where they knock their lush things down to a SLIGHTLY more reasonable level! ;-)

Sorry, know i've missed lots of you.... WAVES But got to get on with putting curtains up in DD play room while asleep, i am MRS D.I.Y in this house!

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 21/10/2010 16:12

hackneyzoo · 21/10/2010 17:50

Bookmarking for later, been in essay writing hell and my Mac died...so having to steal DH's while he's out.

hackneyzoo · 21/10/2010 18:25

Tree..can I ask you a work question..if you are anemic does that mean you are not low risk anymore? (Angry got bloods back today and am worried I won't be able to have HB now).

chefswife · 21/10/2010 21:37

Bookmarking.

Ray Sounds like it'll come together with little E soon. DD woke last night about a hundred times and I think it started with a nightmare on the first wake up as she was really distraught and I had to wake her. She was just unsettled all night. All I do is kiss her, tuck her in, give her some water and say night night again, but she did keep stirring all night. When she sleeps with us, it usually means DH sleeps on the couch and DD and I sleep in bed. We are getting her a proper bed soon, (as I don't want to buy another crib) and then DH can sleep in that when DD is unsettled, which I'm sure won't be a hard sell to DH. [hgrin]

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 22/10/2010 08:36

morning [hgrin]

dd1 off school from today as inset day Hmm

Rrrrayray · 22/10/2010 13:08

Hi all.

Madness here, had TV men putting TV on wall earlier, and my parents and sister here. Argh!

Things improving with Esme sleeping, only woke 3 times, and was easy settled back to sleep.

Sorry for lack of posting - mad here too with lots to do. I have a to-do list as long as my arm. And yet still find things to distract me. Has anyone got one of those new nifty video camera things that take a card? I was thinking of one for OH's 40th birthday prezzie.

Will apologise in advance for lack of posts over the next month or so - I will def keep up with the thread though and be reading, but I imagine not much time to post.

pat lovely to hear all your news and so glad things have improved so much with you and DH. Well done for hanging in there.

books hope the shoulder improves and stays that way.

Waves to everyone else.

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 22/10/2010 16:30

afternoon

glad today nearly over
sick of girls fighting
and having no time to myself

hi rray - hope tv gets sorted glad esmes sleep is getting better

hi miss j dont work to hard

chefswife · 22/10/2010 16:40

Tink Argh on the fighting. Hope you get some reprieve soon.

MissJ Get cracking girl. [hwink]

Tea How many glasses of wine did you reward yourself with; at least two I hope. [hgrin]

Off to toddler social... really its just a playroom at the rec centre where the kids can't get out so you can let them loose and sit on the side lines. [hgrin]

Teaandcakeplease · 22/10/2010 19:09

No wine yet, DCs in bed, just about to saunter to the fridge and pour one [hsmile]

Think I'll end up asleep on the sofa though after, as I'm absolutely beat after a mega busy day. Bought this coat today as I desperately needed one that was fairly practical. It's not as nice as the ones I've seen on style and beauty but I don't have their type of money Shock Hopefully it'll do me a few Winters as I'm already feeling guilty about buying it, but I've lost a lot of weight since I bought my last coat 3 years ago and my old coat looked like a tent on me [hhmm] as well as very tatty.
