Morning.

have read but off to bed, so will reply and post later. Night night [smle]

Lenni · 18/10/2010 10:20

Dog, hope today helps. I know people on here have had good results from cranial ost so you never know?!

Blood - glad N home but bf problems sound hard. DS was the same with latch at first. He still has a little mouth. He grew out of it soon enough but bf counsellor taught me exaggerated latch where you squish your nipple flat and then do this very enthusiastic rolling action to latch them on. It did work. I also just had to put up with it hurting quite a lot for a few weeks. I'm sure your skin toughens after a while. She is swimming in lansinoh I'm sure?

Pat - lovely to hear from you. Sorry DH not had good news. Inversion table worked wonders on my PIL too who has trapped nerves in his lower spine and hips. He is meant to have had an op but is worried about risk of paralysis so has had loads of physio and it does seem to have helped. He had to go to a private physio and had hydrotherapy mainly. Might be worth investigating.

Ray - how is E now? Has she recovered?

HKZ - 5 under 6!!!!! OMG, I'd be insane.

I can't name change anymore as I lose Lenni everytime and have to get Tech to change it back for me. I think I'm starting to push my luck.

Tree - have read fb and will respond. There is loads I can think of ref his work. Will get back to you.

Thanks folks for congrats on job Smile, no work clothes shopping Books, it was pretty casual tbh, most were wearing trousers with jumpers and a lot in practical get up and the men all seemed to have a fleece thing going on. They don't have a curriculum on Fridays either, all enrichment actvities so expect I'll be mountain biking or some other embarrassing malarky. Best part is day ends at 2.15pm and all counselling type stuff until 3pm with half the school, other half go home so will hopefully get trained up in all that therapeutic business.

Bloodandsnakesplease · 18/10/2010 11:07

Lenni if you can find me a diagram on a webpage or something, for your way of latching I'll e-mail it to her, as I know she's very fed up now and thinking of giving up, after everything they've already been through with him Sad

elkiedee · 18/10/2010 13:24

Gosh, how have I managed to disappear for so long and miss so much baby news. I'm very jealous. dp seems to be trying to persuade me that we should have another, he must be mad but I'd love one. Arrrrggggghhhh.

DOG I do think these cranial people do something I was a bit sceptical of the chiropractor who also did their heads too but it did something for sure. So go again as you say.

Really hope the gaviscon does the trick and things get easier, big ((hugs)) lovely x

Hello Elkie I'm usually teaandcakeplease, a late joiner to the thread Smile

Bloodandsnakesplease · 18/10/2010 14:43

Ouch books, sounds almost like a frozen shoulder previously. Hope things stay as good as they are and Osteo says it's permanent Smile

missjackson · 18/10/2010 21:58

Wow books that sounds like a miracle! Amazing that soft play actually made you feel better - I am always completely exhausted after a session!

dog fab news that the oesteo seemed to help - we went with N at 12 months and spent a small fortune but it made no difference then - I really regretted that I didn't go when he was tiny. At least you know you've tried everything. Hopefully he will gradually become more settled now.

lenni new job just sounds brilliant especially with the relaxed dress code and early finishes. It will be so interesting and I bet the teenagers will love you. Do you still get school hols etc? Could I be any more Envy? But super Grin for you too. You deserve it. What will new childcare arrangements be?

pat massive wave to you - glad it's all looking positive with DH atm, and great that you are looking forward to xmas etc. Your MIL sounds like a dream really. Sounds like E is shining at school, I knew she would of course, bless her bright little cotton socks.

Am too shattered to write anymore. No more guests, finally, so my cooking stint is over. Roast dinner for 10 on Sunday was a walk in the park compared to 24 etc that I had done on Fri and Sat. Feeling very knackered and sorry for myself, and off to bed with 'the slap'. Vaguely irritating so far.

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 19/10/2010 12:09

dog - heres hoping things get better Grin

hi to everyone else Grin

Rrrrayray · 19/10/2010 13:50

DogWe never took Esme to see one, never felt the need, but i had friends who took theirs and raved about it. I think the younger they are when they are taken, perhaps the more effective it is? Fingers crossed 2nd session helps even more.

Books absolutley fab about shoulder, Fingers crossed its long term, must be a huge relief for you.

Tink Wooden Floor looking good on Fb, what a massive job! i haven't seen anyone use those tiny slabs of Wood for forever, we had wooden floring put into our hallway when moved into this house (was new and had no flooring, carpet etc) and came in MUCH bigger planks and wasn't nearly as fiddly as yours! Well done you!

missj you sound like me when i was pregnant, i seem to be cooking for hoards back then, and didn't phase me either. I remember cooking for 18 2 days before Esme was born! haha! :-) How long till your off to Oz & how long do you go for? x

Hello all x

Rrrrayray · 19/10/2010 14:01

Oh, i almost forgot. We've had two Rough nights sleep wise. I know we have been incredibly spoilt with a child who loves her bed and loves to sleep, but the past 2 nights Esme has gone to sleep as usual, with a few tears, but by the time i've reach the door to go out, she's stopped and asleep. Then shes been waking about 10pm and crying and wanting to be settled back to sleep. If you get her out of her cot and cuddle and rock her shes asleep in SECONDS, so she is obviously tired, but as soon as shes back in her cot, Screaming. I've just been laying her down and walking out, and repeating that, sometimes she'll go straight back to sleep, and other times Cry. It's been this cycle until about 1am the first night, and midnight last night.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this after a child was ill? I'm wondering if Esme is a bit uptight and anxious in her cot now after the not being able to breathe the other night, then all the paramedics (3 at one point) in her room, then a night in hospitial? I think she just wants a little comfort, but whilst i want to comfort her, i always worry long term, Esme has never been in our bed, and i don't want to start bringing her in, as why wouldn't she WANT to be in our bed, warm, and both parents there, but yet by 1am i'm Zonked. DH is all for letting her cry it out, but i feel awful, as although she has nothing bar a tiny cough left..... Hmmmm...

Bloodandsnakesplease · 19/10/2010 14:34

Probably needs some reassurance after everything bless her. Is she over tired after everything lately and a bit behind on her usual amount of sleep? I find my children sleep worse and cry out more when very tired. Could you sleep on a mattress in there until she gets over this hump?

She'd probably think it was terribly fun and want to play and hug you lots if you put her in your bed, as it'd all be terribly exciting and different to usual. That's what my DS does whose never co slept Smile

Maybe typos in this as I'm typing quick Blush

treedelivery · 19/10/2010 15:09

Hello [hsmile]

Ray - I'd say perhaps lie next to her on the floor for a while. I am a softee, as we all know from my history of totally giving into dd2 [hgrin] but I also think that while our little ones seem so grown up in comparison to last year, they are still little ones really. I personally want my dd to know I am totally listening, there, and hearing that there is a problem. You know? But I hope it passes, and good luck whatever you do.

I have found both mine are clingy and freaked about sleep after any illness, so I would imagine this will pass. So maybe bear with her and reassure her you are there for her. The see where you are at by Friday.

All well here, although total nightmare with the car. AGAIN!!! [hangry] Got stranded at school so walked home. GP's doing school run this eve. Back n land of living after nights, but have study day tomorrow. I want some days off! Pah. Still, not back until Friday, then I have a weeks annual leave and it's half term.

Yipeee. No car though, but at least I get my big girl home to hang out with. [hsmile]

missjackson · 19/10/2010 15:21

ray poor E, she's always been so good so she must be unsettled after being ill - she's not one to play you up at bedtime. Mattress on floor sounds good, but maybe just a few more nights of being fairly boring and just picking her up for a few moments, letting her know you will always come when she needs you, but then putting her back down, will do the trick. Agree that she will probably just wake up and think it's time to play if she's not used to co-sleeping.

tree what a hassle about your car. Bloody things.

We're off on Nov 1st - a week Monday! Desperately trying to get things organised - just wading my way through mounds of paperwork at the moment. Also have OH's 40th party to organise for Sunday - am thinking sort of nibbles and canapes for first couple of hours (it's a drinks party from 4pm), and then around 6pm bring out jacket potatos, cold ham and rare beef, cheese board, salads etc. Any ideas for nice canapes/ nibbles? But must be EASY. Am tempted to just M&S the lot... I can cook the ham and beef on Saturday, but really don't have much time for faffing around.

Grin I don't usually enjoy those things but that was funny.

MissJ, I'm sure you must have an outside caterer locally? Our local tea shop will do canapes/buffet type stuff and always reasonable. Would probably be cheaper than m&s and arrive on platters ready to serve. Can't believe you go so soon. When do you start filming?

New childcare arrangements are DH going part time!! Never thought that would happen! He's employing someone to do 3 days a week including saturdays and is having 2 weekdays off. I get school holidays so he'll work full time during my hols. DD starts school in sept anyway and DS will do 3 days nursery. I know I should stop talking about it but I am so excited. I really feel like it has all come right iyswim.

Dog - glad osteo seems to have helped. Hope he settles down now with gaviscon. If it seems to wear off quickly then go back to GP as can give omeprazole which lasts longer, we found gaviscon ok but wore off quickly with DD.

Ray - I would definitely avoid co sleeping as she will find it too entertaining now. Have you tried calpol? Sounds like shes getting her molars to me. DS is the same when teething.

Lenni · 19/10/2010 20:41

Books - how is your shoulder today?
