Hi all.

I am feeling better Smile I have really bad back ache, but I have been in bed since Sunday night so no wonder. Mum came up to do the girls. I am ok to potter down stairs, but ont he understanding I flop in a chair and just smell. I really do smell. I managed a shower yesterday, but today my skin feels too sore.
What a bloody waste of lovely days off. Have tomorrow to try enjoy some time. Then work, but finish Sunday until Friday. So will try again! I really need some nice time. You know?

Bee is packaged. He is n a little plastic box, with a note, in badly spelt 'english' saying he was found in Bruge, please send to the ploice Lost Property. He is then in a battered brown envelope covered in stamps we bought at the charity shop, and post marks we printed off. Then it has our address on in a new printed label. Like they finally found us Grin

Have texted dh, I'm hoping he says we can hand it over when she get's n, and not wait for him to get home. I'm too excited. Grin

Have maccoroni cheese in freezer, but can't defrost it in time. Wonder if I have energy to make more? Shoudn't think so. Nanna's chilli for the girls I think.
Slice of toast for me. Hmm

Waves to all, especially Moosey. Hope you are ok my dear. Probably havign a break from all the hospital trips and illness. Hope so.

Tea - forgot to say. Most impressed too! x

120 · 06/10/2010 15:44

Hi tree, that sounds really exciting! hope you manage to get a pic so we can all follow the latest installment of the Bee soap!

Dog, I know what you mean about tuna. I can sometimes face it, sometimes not.

OP posts:
treedelivery · 06/10/2010 15:47

I can and never will face tuna. Or any fish. I can just about eat a little white fish in fish and chips. Only a little though. All other fish adn shellfood is just a non-food to me.

Have pics of envelope. Will film and take pics too Grin

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 06/10/2010 16:34

bless @ bee Grin

poor u chef

hi to everyone else Grin

chefswife · 06/10/2010 16:38

Good morning ladies. Well, afternoon for you all.

Yesterday uncle managed to wake us at nap again. shakes head I have asked on numerous occasions to please be lighter footed when you come and go from the house or in the hallway, (its right above DD's bedroom), don't let the door slam as it wakes DD and yet I get nothing. What do they want from me; a new asshole? I haven't told them we're pregnant; I don't feel like they deserve to know. Am I being pissy? Hell yes!

Tree Glad you're feeling better. Better over here too but ate a lot of toast. Think we'll be having jacket potatoes tonight too. You don't get them in Canada, eh?

Dog Harsh on F&^%$ckers comment... Wink I can relate, relate, relate to the urge.. lol.

Off to the park... gotta use all the nice days when they come at this time of the year. Its been forecasted this winter is going to be a snowy one. Nice. ('Nice' is heavy with sarcasm)

treedelivery · 06/10/2010 19:10

Oh I swear like a big sweary thing. I have given up trying not too.

Back in bed. Feel like I've run a marathon. Like I'd know.

We have given the Bee. She was just totally surprised, and then totally calm. Really really calm. Like she had no doubt, and why the fuss. Of course Bee was back, she always said and thought she might. ANd afterall, it is her Bee and so there you go. Childhood is amazing isn't it. Your just believe. So actually, things aren't that amazing. It's all just true. Wishes come true.

Lovely. Bee has had a tour of the new house, and played with his old friend moo. Looked at the last pics of dd1 with Bee, which was sept 2007. They were always together, we have lots of pcs with Bee just there, hanging about. Oh bless. Moo is a very special treasure, I hope Bee gets back to the same level.

Chef - try a 'Quiet please, baby sleeping' note on the door, and in the hall. Might get the point accross. Might.

teaandcakeplease · 06/10/2010 19:32

Chef - you didn't offend, I just felt guilty as you're teaching her swimming exactly how you should and I've gone for the lazy easy option and feel guilty. Could you change the room Vi slept in, or re-arrange things at all to help with noise control? Hmm You've probably thought of that already and it's not an option though. Man it'd drive me nuts living below him, I'd end up having to consider moving. I don't blame you for not telling him you're pregnant. Maybe Tree's idea of a sign is worth a shot?

HKZ - I never take the floats out to get it on, they do have to shift their elbows a certain way to shimmy the hand and arm through the strap though. However they're not overly generous and Jacob is growing out of his 18- 24 month one already and I need to buy him the next size up at some point soon. I could send you his old one if you'd think it would fit?

All this talk of babies is making me so broody. Can't believe I didn't appreciate DS in all his baby loveliness, I wished that period away. I never thought he'd be my last one. Does anyone have a 35 year old male friend looking to settle down? LOL

I love Peppa Pig too, DS shouts "PEEEAAAA IIIIIG" whenever the music starts with a big smile on his face.

Awww tree your DD is so lovely and it's so amazing the effort you went to to buy special stamps and the post mark. So magical. You're a fab mummy!

I want to watch DC's speech but it's just not streaming properely right now. I do not want to read the media take on it or whatever the people on mumsnet have said on that other thread. I want to judge it for myself by watching the entire thing, so I can make a proper judgement call for myself on it all. So frustrating. I suppose I should be studying as that's far more important and I am behind Blush

treedelivery · 06/10/2010 19:46

I don't want to watch it. I just bought these with my birthday £30, plus some of their amazing baby wipes.

I know the speech will have a reference to this, he will say 'treedelivery, you need, in times as bad as these given to us by the last government, have put that money towards to pension for the poor starving bankers'

I know this is what will happen.

'Your country needs you, says David Cameron'

Git. My Dh has had 2 redundancies, and taken a 1/3 paycut, and I left a family-perfect job to work 5 more hours a week+shifts.

We have done all we can, so I do hope he doesn't come knocking on my door for any more. Git.

treedelivery · 06/10/2010 20:00

Oh sorry Tea! You are trying to go in open minded BlushBlushGrin

sounds amazing tree and lovely of them to shout it for you. What was your family friendly profession before your current one?

Tonight ladies, I will be making this. I love it so am very excited.

OP posts:
treedelivery · 06/10/2010 20:19

Where do you get the energy and motivaton 120????

Family friendly job was the same profession, but in a different trust. I worked Thurd&Friday every week, 16 hours. It was bliss. but it was 90 miles away, so we needed lower travelling costs.
So now I am on a regular rotation, and this weekend I am missing 2 parties and a ballet lesson. Bit Sad about it all at the moment. Can't be helped.
Been back 7 months so I guess it's natural it starts to bite a bit.

120 · 06/10/2010 21:00

If it was down to me I would only paint and cook. The two things that I never need forcing to do. Everything else is a chore!

What a pity. I suppose with DP looking after the kids, it would be financial suicide to cut down your hours. Really difficult situation. With my first birth, I had the midwives sitting on my bed in tears telling me how awful their lives were (I was in for a whole week post-natally with pre-eclampsia monitoring. Oh, that and the fact that someone had nicely misticked the box in my notes that said I was a drug user Hmm). They do work in a very difficult hospital that has primagravida's coming to them straight off the plane from immigration via a taxi. Not an easy one.

Marvellous news about Bee's reunion with J. I like a happy ending.

Am not listening to the news. Was instead listening to Mariella Frustup on how to inform children of bad news. The government could learn a thing or two!

OP posts:
teaandcakeplease · 06/10/2010 21:03

He does say in the speech they're protecting the NHS from spending cuts Tree, nothing about what you said yet Grin I'm listening to the whole speech, it's 30 mins so far I've listened to. It's surprising what the media pick out to state, to what he has said so far, as I read the bbc front page article just now. I'm disliking the media more and more for their spin. Haven't got to any discussion on child benefit yet though. My brother lives in Witney and is writing a letter to DC as his MP about it. LOL his status yesterday said " Can I afford a hit of £262.17 a month under the proposed changes to child benefit....I think not. Yup, you guessed it - time for another letter to David Cameron - poor bloke he must really regret me moving to Witney.." Made me laugh a lot.

Sorry I'm hi-jacking this thread with politics talk. Oops Blush

120 · 06/10/2010 21:11

Quite alright tea.. very interesting to hear your views. Mine are usually filtered by the bits of the guardian I can be arsed to read. And the bits of radio 4 I get subjected to because DP can't live without it's permanent soundtrack. He is turning into my parents. I spent my youth trying to get away from the bloody station! At school we were forced to listen to the news from 8am to 8.10am every morning and were not allowed to talk during it! I ended up taking a book and reading it under the table in protest. Got through quite a few books though!

OP posts:
teaandcakeplease · 06/10/2010 21:20

52 min speech. I liked it. I even laughed at bits such as how a little boy sent him some money to help with the deficit as he'd heard on the radio/ tv about it. I wouldn't envy any government dealing with the deficit, the figures are astonishing and the interest due. It sucks. I just hope he thinks harder about the CB idea and the loophole. It wasn't discussed at all in this speech.

Sounds interesting 120, do you have a link?

120 · 06/10/2010 21:22

nope as I listen real time, but I bet it's a listen again on the radio 4 website at 8.30.

By the way..

One of my friends has suggested that we women should do something special on facebook in order to increase awareness of October Breast Cancer Awareness month. It's so easy to do, that I'd love you to join in to make this a memorable online event. Last year, the idea was to post the colour of the bra you were wearing on facebook...and it left men wondering for days, why women were posting colours, seemingly at random. This year's game has to do with your handbag/purse, where we put our handbag the moment we get home; for example "I like it on the couch", "I like it on the kitchen counter", "I like it on the dresser". Well u get the idea. Just put your answer as your status (i.e. don't respond to this message, but put it on your status) - and cut n paste this message and forward to all your FB female friends to their inbox. The bra game made it to the news. Let's get the purse in as well and see how powerful we women really are!!! REMEMBER - DO NOT PUT YOUR ANSWER AS A REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

OP posts:
teaandcakeplease · 06/10/2010 21:24

I did that yesterday and got sent a private message by an old boyfriend saying he loved my dirty status!

missjackson · 06/10/2010 21:32

Ooops, I just got sucked into an aibu thread and got cross! I never post on those things.

Thanks for extra book recommendations hkz, have just ordered them all. When I bought house in my mummy the other day, that 'hello baby' came up and I thought it looked lovely, so have got that too.

Love the story of the bee reunion, thanks tree - what a lovely effort you went to. DD1 really does sound like a gorgeous kid.

chef how annoying is your uncle?! Grrr... agree that a sign is the way to go, and even better surely to add 'quiet please, baby and pregnant tired mother sleeping'??

Talking of sleeping, N is still crying in DH's arms every single bedtime - DH stays in there until he is finally asleep, but I thought this would be better by now? All beginning to feel a bit pointless as we are off to Aus in less than 4 weeks so everything will change anyway. We are missing the apprentice too (DH still trying to get N off) but from the tv guide it sounds like the usual scripted shit anyway - 'you all look good on paper, but so does fish and chips' etc.

Oh I am in a pissy mood tonight!

teaandcakeplease · 06/10/2010 21:40

Oh dear MissJ Sad I try to stay away from AIBU generally but I agree with what you posted ((hugs))

I'm so sorry that N is still not settling easily in his bed on his own. I really do not have any useful advice as both of mine were used to sleeping in their own cot (and then bed) from a young age. Must be so gut wrenching if he's upset though and also a worry with the trip to Oz coming up and also another baby to think of and getting him used to settling on his own before then. Maybe you could post a topic in sleep for some advice?

chefswife · 06/10/2010 21:41

Ya I did it too. Mine was 'I like it on the shoe caddy'. lol.

Speaking of 'lol', DH last night text me saying 'I'm on way home. lol'. So when he gets home, I say 'Why was it so funny that you were on your way home?" DH laughs and says 'Lots of love, darling.' lol.

Politics talk? Well, here in BC we have Liberals in majority for the Provincial Government and Conservatives for Federal Government. Its pretty fucked up out here but at least the scenery is nice. Grin

Off for a nap.

Oh... re:Uncle. I saw him today and he was doing something very important to his trucks front wheel but really doing a whole shit load of fuck all and I told him that we were pregnant and slipped it in that DD and I nap between 1 and 3pm. Cross fingers it registered this time.

chefswife · 06/10/2010 21:48

MissJ Maybe try a walk after dinner and before bath for N. Poor thing though. Is he maybe having nightmares and now doesn't want to go to sleep. Move bedroom furniture around but let him be there when you do it. I'm just trying to come up with some tweaks to help the poor thing and you guys... the crying can be so draining sometimes.

chefswife · 06/10/2010 21:53

MissJ Just went over and checked out the thread. I was reading and reading and thinking, 'there's nothing controversial here' and then bang! That one comment just sent it over the edge. lol. Some people.
