Whoa that was a corker of a message - one of my biggest I reckon - definitely a contender. Grin

Tree this thread is your speciality Wink

moosemama · 01/10/2010 17:20

I think Tree is hosting a party of her own this afternoon isn't she? Can't wait to hear how it went.

I would love to have another go at doing a decent 'girl' party for dd in January, but think a) we are too brassic b) dh wants me to organise his 40th at the beginning of February and c) I just can't seem to get into the right frame of mind for it. I normally love organising parties but can't seem to get interested at the moment. I think the lack of funds is playing a big part in that though.

hackneyzoo · 01/10/2010 19:40

This will be a pathetic catch up effort as am knackered, work very crazy this week, seems to have got very busy all of a sudden and uni has started again so am drowning a bit in work.

Moose, sorry DS2 is ill, hope you manage a calm and chilled weekend. Haven't had a chance to mail you that stuff, but will do it Monday.

Books, how about a pop up wendy house for DD? I think thats what we got DD around that age, or a toy kitchen type thing and dressing up stuff?...reading your post makes me realise I am very nervous of taking a career break after this baby, its sort of a now or never moment, and I'm torn, as love work at the mo, but the fact I won't get this time again with the DCs does win hands down. On te time away fro the kids thing I think I am the opposite...I would tear someones arm off for a weekend sans children...the only night we managed it was our wedding night...complete lack of baby sitters/ local family.

Lenni, sorry your DH is being an arse, I think men are programmed to be arses when it comes to socialising in a pre kids stylee. DH is pretty good on the understanding of what its like to be stuck at home with the kids as he is the one that does it most of the time, but still manages to be an arse when it comes to drinking with mates and buggering up the weekend with a rotten hangover. (Although part of me is just Envy that the next time I get to d o tat will be mid 2011!) I think Books is right about the mummy/guilt thing though, there is just something, I'm not sure how to explain it clearly, but there is something about being a mother that men sometimes misunderstand, I guess a sort of deeper bond or depth of emotion regarding thier well being.

Tree, hope the party was a success.

Dog glad to hear J is doing well, hope you are doing well too.

120, love the butterflies. Did L like hers? Hope any viewings this weekend go well.

Hello to everyone else and apologies for te rubbish catch up, have only managed to digest a page!

Off to see my Dad in deepest darkest Suffolk for the rest of weekend. Hope everyone has a good one.

hackneyzoo · 01/10/2010 20:08

Lenni, half of my post to you has somehow disappeared. SO will re type. DH is, at the moment, in a similar position to you. He took time out to look after the DCs when we got back from HK and has had no luck finding a full time job (we have agreed to swap come jan) and I think he is feeling out of the loop in the world of employment and fed up with evening and weekend work. Its really hard to balance.
Would your DH consider taking time out to be a SAHD for a bit, until DS starts school? Or both working p/t and looking after dcs p/t? I think the experience of DH being SAHD has been very positive in terms of mutual appreciation of what each other does and understanding what hard work it is being at home with toddlers. (Although sometimes he forgets what hard work it is being up the duff and working f/t.)
Sorry the job hunting is not going so well. It seems to be a tough time in the world of SEN at the moment, with no one knowing what will happen to funding after April. My boss is covering my maternity leave himself (he's assistant head and inclusion manager) as the funding that pays my TLR is not secure so there's no money in the pot. Are you going for SENCO postions or more inclusion manager type posts?

treedelivery · 02/10/2010 11:22

Hi all.

Very quick hello before bed. party is tomorrow Smile Lots to do and torn between doing it now so can have restful sleep, or just crawling into bed.

Have crawled into bed. Will try try try get up at 4 and bake the cake. Also the food to do and hall to decorate of course.

SO sorry for those of you finding the work thing trcky. Lenni I really hope the perfect role ptches up asap.

Moose, blimey Shock to more illness. Not great for you.

I can't do a proper post as my brain has melted so will bug off to bed. Be back tomorrow when party and birthday all done. Sunday was the day of her birth, this time 6 years ago I was under a cherry blossom that was actually in flower in the hospital grounds. I lent on it and pushed it like mad to deal with the pain. I was about to be reassesed and found to be 3 cms [was 1 at 7.30am]. Awww. I had her at 02.15 Sunday am. Sems a long time ago and no tme ago.

Mind you, hurt like a b***d.

moosemama · 02/10/2010 13:05

Sorry Tree, got my days muddled. Good luck for tomorrow then. Hope its fab.

I have been in bed for 14 hours! Period from hell and the kids cold on top. Harrumph! At least it happened at the weekend so dh can have the dcs.

Upside is all the dcs seem a lot better today, so perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Sleep well. x

Lenni · 02/10/2010 14:55

Thanks folks. I needed that, I know it isn't just him but I'm still mad at him! :o He really annoys me with his condescending attitude lately. I have to bite my tongue not to point out who earns more when I am working, grrr.

Tree, good luck for party.

Moose, hope you are feelig better soon.

Dog, love latest fb pictures. He is gorgeous.

Books, we got DD a pop up Wendy house and a little tykes car for her 2nd Christmas/birthday. I also bought a massive box of duplo for a fiver from an nct sale. Oh and her rocking sheep off eBay - or maybe that was last year Confused anyhow, a few ideas. DS is getting boring Xmas stuff as have booked Disneyland. DD will be getting boring socks etc plus a jigsaw. Have already bought for them both. Have asked GPs to get DS a scooter, same one as DDs, for DSs Xmas/birthday so they can both scoot on walks without fighting over scooter.

Be back this time next week, visiting PILs other home this week ... Fab news, a free hol!

I was sitting in the same small hotel lounge as most of arsenal yesterday and didn't recognise them! Just thought they looked a bit odd in their funny red tracksuits.

I'd be the same, I have no interest in football and do not watch it ever.

hackneyzoo · 04/10/2010 13:48

Afternoon....120, think I would be the same...wandering why people were all wearing the same tracksuits.

Am on a mission this afternoon, I have to take students on a residential week to the Isle of Wight next week...two of the lads coming have size 15 feet....I need to get them wellies....but from where? They need to be cheap too, as coming out of my budget!

mum here today Grin

hackneyzoo · 04/10/2010 17:44

No luck with wellies...these boys have overly large feet.

Hope you get to chill out dog, how is life with 4? Four miles...you mad woman!

Just been to Halfords and tried pretty much every combination to get babyseat and two group 1 seats in, wouldn't even work with a babyseat, group 1 and group 2 booster. Gah! Am thinking the only way to do it would be to put one dc in the front....but to disable the airbag and stick in a switch costs $$$$ too! Anyone know what the slimmest group 1 car seat is? I am determined to do it.
