Ultra Girly Tea Party for 5 yr old?

CountessVonKnackerstein · 01/10/2010 15:21

My DD will be 5 in a couple of weeks, we cant afford a huge party so we thought we would do a Proper Tea Party for a few of her pals.

We have a conservatory, so I thought I'd make it into a pink fairy room for her party to be held in, with the garden table and umbrella inside with cupcakes and cucumber sandwiches etc?

Thing is, how do I make the room pink! Do I get pink net curtains or something?

Any other suggestions for how to make it all ladylike and refined?

And how would we "word" the invites?

Thanks!

Lovely idea!!

For the invites, print them on paper with fancy writing and then roll them up and tie with a ribbon, like a scroll.

Geocentric - that's a grand idea, thank you I will definately do that!

lots and lots of pink balloons with ribbons (try wrapping ribbon rather than the material kind) attached dotted around the room

lovely sheets of wrapping on the walls - fairies, cupcakes etc

bunting?

pink tablecloth, natch

wrapping paper like this

Ooo! paper doilies look great on the table, tres chic and very cheap!

little pots of fresh flowers, even daisies would do

Morrisons at the moment do a lovely cardboard pink cupcake stand for £3 I think.

Pink crepe paper garlands?

Activities:

Could you let them decorate the cupcakes?

Pin the hat on the princess?

Sleeping Beauties (lions)?

pink milkshake for drinks. Tiny meringues, caupcakes etc, finger sandwiches. Confetti on table. Cath kIdston style bunting, plates, etc. Pass the parcel all in pink paper. Ensure invite states party dresses to be worn. Formal wording on invite like a wedding.
