Hope this works for everyone - I'm assuming Summer won't give birth in the next few hours!! x

Are the initials HH, LadyT?

LadyThompson · 18/08/2010 10:34

Yeah. She's great. And absolutely bonkers. I hardly ever see her now because she is either globe trotting with the others from that show doing fan conventions, gigging or hanging around in one of two private members clubs in London (a pleasure now largely denied to me. The one thing I rarely do now and hugely miss, as kids are banned from mine, rightly I think)

Beans33 · 18/08/2010 10:51

Lady - I'm putting DD in for 2 whole days a week. They do a minimum of 2 days or 4 mornings and the latter is more expensive. I think if they do less, they forget about it again and feel miserable every time they go, apparently. I'm actually not looking forward to it that much - will miss her terribly! I've kind of adjusted to having 2 around. BUT I know it'll do her good and I'll be able to get more stuff done - going to the supermarket, won't be such hard work etc.

A quick question - is it normal for babies to be really really sleepy the day after their 8 week jabs? Pru been asleep pretty much since 8.30 this morning and she doesn't normally sleep that much! I can't remember a thing from first time round.

Lady - I'm useless - no idea who your friend is, but have a smashign time seeingher!

xx

Mmmm, I will send her for two mornings a week if I can, once she is 2. It's closed on afternoons and is only open during term times so not that flexible. I just feel it is time for her to have a bit of social interaction. At least it is only across the road.

Jabs - yes, I clearly remember O being sleepier after the jabs, especially the early ones.

For all my moaning about not seeing people, I don't really feel like going out tonight - 14 mile drive to babysitter, 8 mile drive to venue, 8 mile drive back to babysitter then 14 mile drive home (even though I am not driving!) seems like a lot of hassle. I think it's because I tired, miles don't bother me usually. Right, must get off arse!

Veggiemummy · 18/08/2010 12:30

I've been cheeky & lurking all morning and been too lazy to post. Have enjoyed listening to you girls char though.

Oh Beans poor you & feeling so funny about meeting with thr NCT group. I do know how you feel, SAHM doesn't do much for self esteem or dealing with groups, & you've got your issues from school. Maybe this all stems from those experiences from school. I know you weren't fishing for a complement but I'd just like to say that I really like you and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was pleased as punch that you came back to us after you got clackered with Pru.

Lady I think I know who your talking about and I always thought she was brilliant but had such a limited role on the show as far as showing how good she was. Is it possible to see other stuff she has done. Is any of her stand up recorded.

LadyThompson · 18/08/2010 12:48

There is bound to be something on YouTube, Veg, but I don't know of any dvds or anything. Yes, that show was rather blokey, both on and off air!

The colours for autumn are toffee/camel, navy and black, and jewel colours (which are hard for blondes to wear). Capes and military style jackets...lace up boots.

I don't think heavily pregnant in a cape is going to be a good look, though, unless once fancies being mistaken for Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Beans33 · 18/08/2010 12:57

Veggie - you just made me cry, you lovely thing. Thank you. Compliments like that are so kind and I'm really chuffed. Thanks.

Gosh, those sound rather beautiful colours. But yes, as you say, hard for blonds. Black's always a winner. Oh and I got a lovely grey woollen coat from Gap last year, which was in a size 12 - I bought it just before I got preggers. And it lasted up until I was about 7 months - so I reckon you could probably still wear it undone, then button it up once the bump's out!

OP posts:
LadyThompson · 18/08/2010 13:11

I'm looking forward to toffee/camel and I haven't got a coat that colour so it's a good excuse Grin I wear a stack of black and navy anyway. But I will leave the jewel colours to our luscious brunettes on here, sadly. Didn't stop me in the 80s, with my emerald green, electric blue and cerise. But we didn't realise, then, did we?!

And yes, Beans, we WERE thrilled to have you back and I hope v much you can make Veggie's meet up on the 27th or whenever it is.

Veggiemummy · 18/08/2010 13:48

Oh gosh that reminds me. Bisou said she could probably work in with us she hasn't got her roster yet but I suggested meeting at 1pm. So is 1pm good for all I think most said an afternoon and easier for the essex girls. Now as far as where to meet, does anyone know of somewhere that has a good outdoor area but if weather turns bad we can run indoors? I know a big ask but there must be somewhere.

Beans33 · 18/08/2010 13:50

I'm afraid I can't make it as we're in Essex - booooooo! V sad not to be there as will be lovely. Bugger.

Wow, both DDs fast asleep. DD2 since 11.30 and DD1 since 12.30. Been rather nice. Been reading my book and doing crossword and sudoku. Bliss! Oh and emptying the dishwasher and taking the bins out. Had to do a couple of jobs! I seem to have insatiable appetite at moment. What's going oN??!

waitinggirl · 18/08/2010 14:07

well, there is a baby in here and it is a right wriggler! hurrah. dh nearly burst into tears at the scan. bless him. so guess we're having another baby, then. excited, pleased, nervous, all those things you all know well. we're 13+1 apparently, and the due date is now back to 22nd feb, not the 25th, which means i was on a 28 day cycle, which i've never had in my entire life (2 cycles before that i was on 66 days, so go figure). weird, but fine.

beans - i know what you mean about groups and nct people. i'm much better with people one on one and find groups a bit terrifying. i've always blamed that on being an only child, but i know you're not. i know exactly what you mean when it feels like being back at school, especially as i went to an all girls school. you are a delight to all of us on here, and in a way we know you better than lots of your new mum chums. so there.

i'm sure i was going to say something else profound, but can't remember.

oh - anyone fancy taking their little one to in the nightgarden live at the o2 this friday afternoon at 3.45? my friend is going and got me tickets, but i think it might be a bit too much for me to do (running mum and baby class in the morning, meeting with architect midday, then driving back up to suffolk either after the o2 or just missing it completely). ticket was £25 - i'm sure i could find a way of you meeting my friend who's got the ticket.

spotofcheerfulness · 18/08/2010 14:17

Hooray WG!!!

LadyThompson · 18/08/2010 14:28

WG, that is super news. Really so pleased for you!

Beans33 · 18/08/2010 15:47

Oh WG - that's lovely news - hurray! Well done you. Are you going to find out what sex it is in 7 weeks???!

And thanks for your kind words too.

I would love to go to that ITNG thing, but again, we're off on hols to Essex, so no can do. Bum.

Right, must go. A friend was meant to be coming round at 3.30, but is running late so will be nearer to 4. That's ok, but a bit irritating as it's a bit close to supper to go for a nice walk, which was my intention as we've been at home most of the day today. Bugger. Will be a short walk to get DD1 a bit tired! Mind you, have had a lovely time reading stories etc. DD2 now a bit more wakeful and having a lovely kick on her gym. Have started doing naked playtime with her, which I did with DD1 and it's just so sweet!

Hi,

Not sure if you will remember me Grin but I really wanted to pop and say hi to you all and congratulations to all the new babies and newly expecting mums!!!

I should really try and get back into mumsnet.

Hope everyone is well!

Veggiemummy · 18/08/2010 19:23

Fab news WG, a little wriggler, I wonder if it's a boy? So sweet on thr DH tears, mine is a bit emotional with that sort of thing and he's not even been through me having MCs. Really pleased that all is well up to this stage so you can relax a little & enjoy.

Hi Kayz, how's things with your new fella?

Beans that's a real shame that I won't get to meet you. Not fair infact, bur have fun on hols when do you leave?

DS2 has been so cute but cheeky today, he opened the dishwasher earlier and got a spoon I had used to make DS1's birthday cake and licked it clean!!! Then whilst DS1 was messing about on the skate ramps near our house DS2 snuck off and next thing I new he was at the top of one of the Ramp!!! Running me ragged they are. Poor little begger though, DS1's football table arrived today & DH put it together. He & DS1 were having a lively game when poor DS2 got a bit too close to the table & DH poked him in the eye with the table rod thingy for controlling the players.

Veggiemummy · 18/08/2010 19:25

I should have added there he was at the top of the skate ramp on his scooter, just standing up there wouldn't have been that bad.

Kayzr · 18/08/2010 20:03

Hi Veggie,

Things are going really well except I miss him loads. He works away so he does 5 weeks at work and 5 weeks at home. He is due back in 2 weeks and I am counting down the days.

JamInMyWellies · 19/08/2010 09:53

Wow its quiet on here.

WG great news! Grin

Nolda · 19/08/2010 10:04

Hi everyone, have been lurking a bit but seem to be finding it difficult to keep up.

WG Fab news about your scan and how touching that your DH was tearful. A wriggler, you say? Hmm, my money's on a boy.

Trace Horrified to hear of your accident, so scary for you. Thank God you are both OK.

JJ I hope you are resting up after your scare. I am thinking of you.

Veggie A belated happy birthday to your DS1. And happy birthday to your DD Deirdre. Is she starting school in September? And has anyone else got DCs starting? My DD is chomping at the bit, it's just me feeling a bit anxious (and a bit sad that she is growing up so quickly).

Hi Kayz, lovely to hear from you.

I've been struggling on but was finding it more and more difficult to cope so went to see my GP yesterday. I think I set her surgery back by about 40 mins - sorry to the sick of Lymington. Anyway, she was very kind and has given me some contact numbers for counsellors but said that I was in no fit state for that at the moment and has prescribed me anti-depressants. I'm feeling more positive now, I think it was helpful just to get it all off my chest.

Plan for the day - library and making chocolate and nut biscuits, yum.

LadyThompson · 19/08/2010 10:25

Hi Kayz, good to see you. How is it all going?

Jam - how is your DH getting on, btw? And what happened with the bikinis?

Nolda - you poor old sausage. Well, a course of anti-depressants is a good start. As is planning nice things for the day and, I know it's a cliche, but taking each day as it comes and only worrying about the immediate day ahead can be a help. There are others on here who have been, in various ways, in a bad place and come out the other side (and I do count myself in this), so nil desperandum.

I am delighted, as my fab nephew hasn't got his A level grades yet but his first choice red brick University Oop North have already contacted him to say he has a confirmed placed for Law, so scenes of great jubilation Chez Nous. I tell you, I couldn't be more excited if it was my own kid!

EffiePerine · 19/08/2010 10:53

Lady: great news!

WG: glad the scan went well. I'm thinking it's a boy as well! So are you going to call him Gustave or wot?

Nolda: take care of yourself. I think ADs can be a massive help in giving you a bit of space to deal with things. Good that you have a supportive GP.

Hi Kayz!

Veggie: what a horrifying image! I'm having to follow DS2 around at all times. He wants to follow his big brother but forgets he is much smaller! No fear at all.

Nolda · 19/08/2010 11:04

LadyT Congratulations to your nephew! What a relief and it will make it so much easier for him to open that envelope (or whatever they do these days).

Does anyone have waterproofs for their DCs that they would recommend? DS is completely raincover phobic and I need to get some trousers/dungarees for him to wear in the pushchair (and also for when he goes rolling in the mud!). I want to get some that won't get all wet and sweaty on the inside, ie they should be breathable.

Beans33 · 19/08/2010 11:18

I've got a brilliant all in one outfit - from Regatta. It's a proper sailing kit, so really good. I've found the boy's equivalent of what DD1 has. Hers is pink and it's marvellous. Wore it in a massive downpour the other day and stayed dry!

Hope that helps, Nolda. Thought it was quite reasonable too as in sale!

That is just the job, Beans, thanks and I agree a good price. It even has hippos on, and I have a soft spot for them. Have purchased Grin.
