wow Chuffed that's brilliant news! I'm trying to be cautious and not get too excited but I had a positive pregnancy test at the weekend!! Woo hoo!!

Dottydot · 11/01/2006 13:11

LucyJones - congratulations!!! Wow - so many April babies turning into big sisters/brothers!

Ds2 has horrible virus at the moment - is v. clingy/snotty/high temperature and did a very green poo this morning!! (sorry if TMI!). I was quite taken aback - have never seen a green poo before!

LucyJones · 11/01/2006 13:11

thanks Hope ds gets better soon, poor thing

MrsDoolittle · 11/01/2006 13:34

Gosh you must be excited Lucyjones!!
I found it sooo difficult to stay calm and relaxed when I found out. I was broadcasting it everywhere!

I have been in Mothercare buying sale stuff and newborn boys clothes today. I'm struggling to get excited about buying boys clothes but this is for coming home and a little Humphrey's corner sleepsuit with green velour top.

dolbear48 · 11/01/2006 15:14

MrsD - that is so cute!! I didn't know you already knew you were having a boy When are you due? I am very excited but we aren't telling anyoe until after the 1st scan - seems ages to wait...

hewlettsdaughter · 11/01/2006 15:38

YG re the nappy rash. LJ re your news!

I like boys' clothes better I think (too much pink/princessy stuff around for girls). Saying that dd will probably end up princessy and pink with the rest of them once she starts making her own mind up

MrsDoolittle · 11/01/2006 15:42

Dd looks princessy, then when you get to know her.....err not! We were told she was throwing food around at nursery yesterday and was found with another screaming toddler and chunks of hair in her hand!!!!!
She's moving up next month, thank goodness.

MrsDoolittle · 11/01/2006 15:43

LJ - I nearly 35 weeks and fed up already!!

LucyJones · 11/01/2006 15:52

Ah, poor you! Hope the next month goes quickly and you're on time!

MrsDoolittle · 11/01/2006 15:52

Cheers

fennel · 11/01/2006 16:38

congratulations lucyjones very good news.

and congrats to chuffed's ds, that's the sort of baby it's good to have.

haven't had much need to hunt out nice boys clothes but H&M looks quite good for boy clothes (is also my favourite for girls - not too pink/lilac/princessy, lots of bold colours and patterns)

no pink princesses evident yet in the fennel household.... we don't really do dainty

dolbear48 · 11/01/2006 20:44

ah nice boys clothes - Adams are realy good - Next surpisingly good value and funky
don't suppose anyone has any experience of ' bits ' operations , we are finding one and bringing it down and pinning the other

hewlettsdaughter · 11/01/2006 21:38

Sorry, can't help you there dolbear.

I always liked NEXT for boys' clothes, but don't find so much girls' stuff I like there. No H&M in Oxford . Fortunately I am not having to buy much for dd as we have had quite a lot of clothes second-hand from a friend.

tracyk · 12/01/2006 09:48

Congrats LJ and poor dd YG.
ds seems to get really bad nappy rash if he doesn't have a poo before going to nursery - then 'mysteriously comes home with a red raw botty. They 'promise' they change him as soon as he does a poo - but hmmm - strange how he never gets nappy rash at home!!!
I really didn't want a boy because of the clothes on offer but have changed my mind since having ds. I would have been bankrupt by now if I had a dd! But the boys clothes are lovley too. Prefer creams, browns and sky blues. Plus I'm glad I don't have the problem of 'teenage' girls clothes for a 5 year old!

fennel · 12/01/2006 09:59

tracyk, dd2 used to get bad nappy rash at nursery, and they did change regularly (probably far more vigilant than us ) . we thought it had to be the wipes they were using - at home we just used water and cotton wool. you could check what they use or even send your own preferred brand of wipes in.

will search out a photo of my dds in their preferred clothes, they look quite eclectic when they get going. my 4 year old really likes an old fashioned laura ashley red pinafore dress (too twee and nostalgic for me, she looks like a 1980's throwback), and my 5yo likes pirate stripey shirt, combats and then various strange additions such as sunhat in midwinter.

tracyk · 12/01/2006 10:54

They do have his own nappies, cream and wipes at nursery - they don't provide anything. But its much more than a rash - it is red raw - and obv. in the places where the nappy rubs with poo in for a good while! I've only ever had it as bad once when we were at the park and he'd been running around and I hadn't realised till I got home. It had been there for about 30 mins.
I just have an issue with it because I want him to move up a class as I'm sure he's bored in the babyroom and I'm not sure he gets enough structured activity. I think they leave the older ones to their own devices and concentrate more the babies - hence them not noticing that he has a dirty nappy.

hunkermunker · 13/01/2006 21:54

LJ, only just seen this - congratulations!

Am SO pleased for you!

lunavix · 13/01/2006 22:00

I like next and h&m for boys. Do like Mothercare but v pricey! Can't stand adams, or tescos, or anyting like that.

LJ - CONGRATS! when are you due???? I've never known anyone pg the same time as me!!!!!! We seem to do things in groups on here don't we! And you were so worried too xxxx

LucyJones · 15/01/2006 14:33

Thanks everyone! I still feel a bit cautious as it's very early days but last period was 6th Dec so makes a due date of 12th Sept I think. Only just seen on the due Jan '06 thread that Chuffed had Brook on Christmas Day!!!

fennel · 15/01/2006 15:56

how is it going now chuffed? are all the relatives around still helping? or are you in your own place now?

isn't Hunker due about now?

hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 15:58

Hi Fennel...yes, due yesterday! Er...no baby yet though! DS was ten days late though - he was meant to be a March baby (24th March to be precise!).

fennel · 15/01/2006 16:01

ooh, good luck. hope you are able to be patient (more than i ever was).

hunkermunker · 15/01/2006 16:07

Patience is manifesting itself as a total inabilty to get to sleep before the wee small hours and a total inability to get up until the time is in double figures

Have appointment on Tuesday to talk about induction. Don't want to go! It's at 8.55, quite apart from anything else!
