Ooh Chuffed - well done! S/he really was a Christmas baby! Do tell us more when you can.

Dd was given a buggy for Christmas too - in fact two! She likes to try and push both around at once.

Chuffed · 30/12/2005 02:31

Hope you had a good Christmas.
Just posted my birth announcement here
Must go feed and celebrate Christmas this evening...

Dottydot · 30/12/2005 09:22

Chuffed - that all sounds soooo scary - good to see you're up and around after all that.

We had a horrible Christmas dp and I got a stomach bug on the 23rd/24th and have only just got rid of it... So no Christmas dinner/drinks for us. Then ds1 got it a couple of days ago which was a nightmare. Bizarrely though ds2's been fine!

Ds2 also got a pushchair and a dolly for it - and he loves it!!

LucyJones · 30/12/2005 09:33

congratulation again Chuffed. Sorry to hear your family has been unwell Dot

Dottydot · 30/12/2005 12:13

Quick query - and will help settle a disagreement between me and dp! How much milk are your April babies drinking? Ds2 is still on 30oz a day (3 x 10oz drinks a day) - but eats very well aswell and also has water throughout the day! Dp thinks this is too much milk and we should cut him down, but I'm reluctant to when he loves his milk so much! Having said that we're going to cut down his evening drink of milk slightly, as he's always so wet in the morning!

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 12:25

Chuffed, congrats again

Dot, sorry you've had a poorly Christmas

DS drinks milk some days, other days he doesn't. BUT if there's a cheese shortage in the near future, it's because of him - he LOVES the stuff. 30oz therefore sounds like a lot to me but if he's eating well, I'd not worry.

Does anyone else's child eat their own bodyweight in food most days? I'm starting to think I'll need to send DS out to work so he can pay his way - it's like feeding three hungry adults here! Think his favourite word is "more" (well, after "Daddy"!). But he's still a slender chap (in 9-12m trousers mostly, 12-18 if they have adjustable waistbands!), so I figure he must just burn it all off.

lunavix · 30/12/2005 13:42

Congrats chuffed

dot, ds has about 7oz a day (in a beaker before bed) he'd have more but he's just huge! So we cut him off!

Have another scan weds, I had a scan on the 23rd and I was 6/7 weeks, but I've had a small bleed so I'm having another one next week. I'm really suffering this pg so I think everythings okay! I can't eat bread, orange juice.. all I crave is red meat (particularly mcdonalds - URGH - which is bizarre as normally I won't touch the stuff) so I think it must be to do with protein. Nauseau is really bad, as in constipation. But I'm just happy to be pregnant

When's everyone's due date? Is everyone January? Chuffed wasn't your dd the oldest in this thread? Funny that your new ds is the oldest in the new batch

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 13:44

I'm due on 14th January. DS was born on 3rd April and I think Chuffed's DD's around that time?

lunavix · 30/12/2005 13:56

Weren't chuffed n kristinam's march?

or was chuffed dd march and kristinas ds may?

Dottydot · 30/12/2005 14:00

I'm sure Chuffed's was in March, 'cos I remember being envious as my due date was March 31st but I had to wait until April 9th!!

Lunavix - I can't remember if I already knew - but congratulations!!! Lovely news - and fingers crossed for your scan next week.

Hmmm - so maybe 30oz a day is quite a lot then?! No wonder he's in 2 - 3 yrs clothes

lunavix · 30/12/2005 14:04

Thanks dot, we're really excited Due to previous m/c I'm still wary but we're desperate for the 12 week mark when we can tell people!

Has anyone heard from Kristina? Wasn't she the first to get pg?

Ds is in mostly 18 - 24 month tops, they're starting to get a little tight on the tummy (he has a pot belly!) but he's still in his 12 - 18 month coat which is still too big, and his 18 - 24 month jumpers are still huge.

His trousers are all 12 - 18 month, and fit nearly perfectly (a tad too big still) his 18 - 24 months ones are just a joke!

He's in 5.5 clarks shoes, or 6 next...

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 15:25

Lunavix, sorry - didn't mean to ignore that whole part of your post! Congrats and will have my fingers crossed for your scan!

Clothes sizes are mental, aren't they?! I know loads of children who are in nothing like the size of clothing their age would suggest - mind you, I guess adults are all shapes and sizes!

LucyJones · 30/12/2005 19:27

wow congratulationds Lunavix, hope it will be me soon although the bding hasn't gone very well this month with staying with relatives etc. I think Chuffed was the 1st to give birth on this thread - how strange!! I thought SusiS was the first to get preggers but that was a while ago - think she was due in November. Exciting times!
Re. the milk - ds is on a bedtime bottle of 7oz and has full fat milk with his weetabix and a bit in a beaker for his brekkie. He's mostly in 2-3 trousers although they fall down or he trips over the bottoms!

Chuffed · 30/12/2005 22:18

Hey all, sorry to hear you have been unwell it is just the worst over Xmas.
dd still on full tommy tippee beaker 4 times a day and more if we let her. She also loves her milk but eats well and drinks lots of water.
She has accepted ds well but he is quite quiet so far so will see when he gets a bit more vocal.
dd was due 31st March and born 29th. ds due 16 Jan, must be a competitive gene or something
Almost the same weight though when one was pretty much term and the other was just over 3wks early.
Have a good new years not sure what we are doing maybe a bbq at a friends place.

Dottydot · 31/12/2005 09:26

Chuffed - very impressed at you thinking about what you're doing at New Year - when ds2 had just been born I could barely remember my name, let alone venture out on a social occasion!

hewlettsdaughter · 02/01/2006 21:23

I'm impressed too Chuffed! Hope things are going well with the new babe. Happy new year everyone! Also - congrats lunavix! (sorry, missed your news before). Good luck for your scan this week.

Dot, my ds used to drink loads of milk - I can't remember when the amounts dropped but we used to supply 4 x 9 oz bottles to the childminder for the day and he used to have bottles at home too. He started going to the childminder when he was about 6 months but I'm sure that amount of milk wasn't just what he had in the beginning.

Fennel - was it you who said your dd3 loved 'Everyone hide from Wibbly Pig'? I bought this for dd for Christmas and it is her most requested book at bedtime at the moment .

Chuffed · 03/01/2006 08:49

just thought i'd share a photo of dd with ds here
Things going ok apart from the 5hrs of feeding per day with dd to entertain thank goodness we aren't in our place yet MIL and SIL are awesome with her.

fennel · 03/01/2006 10:04

chuffed - gorgeous photo newborns are so scrummy.

HD yes dd3 loves Everyone hide from Wibbly pig. i can recite it backwards in my sleep. "but where is tiny pig? is that his scarf? yes! is that his hat? yes!....."

dd3 has started riding a trike. she is working really hard at this and refuses to be pushed. yesterday she triked all the way down the road (very slowly, right in the middle of the road, refused to go on the pavement. luckily it's a quiet cul de sac). Proud mummy emoticon

MrsDooLittle · 03/01/2006 11:20

Gosh ladies. Haven't things been busy here?

When I saw your post Chuffed, I can't help feeling a tremor of apprehension. Huge Congratulations! Brook and Jaimee look lovely together, you must be so proud!!
You must be enjoying the weather.

I'm just over 33 weeks now, I'm hoping to push another 5 weeks out of work. I have to admit to getting well and truly FAT this time. Dh pointed out that I have a dimply bottom last night, Bless This time I really feel like I am growing out of my maternity clothes. I also succumbed to the dungarees which as I expected I have been teased about mercilessly over Christmas. I just need a straw hat!! I do have to admit to being an awful more comfortable though.

Dd loved Christmas. Loads of attention and pressies. Another dolly, pushchair, travel cot, car seat, she'll be able to have her own little nursery. She has entertained everyone with her little 'mummy' role playing.

I hope everything is okay with you Lunavix now and the bleeding has settled down.

hewlettsdaughter · 03/01/2006 20:14

That's a fab photo Chuffed . It's good that you've got some help at the moment - I remember those first few weeks when you seem to be stuck on the sofa feeding all the time and the older one wants to be entertained.

MrsD - how are things in Newbury?

Fennel - although my dd can't say many words she is able to imitate the sing-song way in which I say Big Pig, Pig Twins etc - it's v. funny.

Dottydot · 03/01/2006 20:44

Chuffed - what a beautiful photo - they look truly angelic!

Fennel - I'm hugely impressed - there's no way I'd let unco-ordinated ds2 anywhere near a bike!!!

tracyk · 04/01/2006 09:19

Wow - just caught up on this thread - how busy have you all been??
ds fav. pressie from Xmas is his pink buggy. He loves putting anything in it for a ride around the house. Saw him pushing a set of keys in it yesterday, waving and shouting bye bye pushing the pram! silly boy!
ds would rink milk all day if I let him - but I reckon it's cos he still has it in the bottles with nipples! I gave him an ordinary cup the other day and he looked at in disgust. He still loves to shake his cups around and I don't mind water on the carpet - but can't be bothered with milk/juice to be wiped up.

MrsDoolittle · 04/01/2006 13:42

Hi HD
I have been thinking about you. I have a book that you lent me to give back to you, maybe I should post it?
Newbury is fine but I think I would rather not be pregnant in a new home, I can't seem to be able to do all the things I want!
The only problems is that all the advantage has been dh's. I still ahve a blinkin 40 miles to go to work, a 80 mile round trip!!! I wish I didn't like my job so much then I'd be looking for another closer to home.

lunavix · 04/01/2006 13:46

Everyone's ds sounds a lot more advanced than mine lol! He can sing 'tishoo tishoo we all fall down' not quite with those words and he misses the start listening for his cue!

dh has taught him to count! lol it's the bullseye innnnnnn 1 innnnnn 2 innnnn 3 etc... he does it all. it's soooo annoying and dh is so proud of himself!

Thanks mrsd, bleeding stopped, had a scan today and they found a heartbeat! But I'm only 6+4! Feel as if it's a lifetime away! Just can't wait to get to 12 weeks.

fennel · 04/01/2006 14:59

lunavix, glad to hear the pregnancy is ok.

dd3 not very advanced. if there were baby competitions she would excel at eating and sleeping. possibly triking, that's about it.

she can't sing, count, climb, or say sentences longer than 2 words.

of course she would win most lovable baby if i were judging but then i am biased
