Not listening any more as you are just showing off! W only manages a clear Daddy and lots of other sounds which could be anything!!!!

Star some children find using the potty a bit of a trauma. Maybe not mentioning the potty for a week or so and then try again.
Dont tell dh I told you but apparently he used to put a nappy on and go and sit behind the chair to do a poo. For ages
I knew he was a bit odd

Ah, M is flying with the speech BUT, she is rubbish with the potty training. She is a long way off! M talks in two/three word sentences all the time. You can have a conversation with her now, well, sometimes, on occasion I have NO idea what she's babbling about.

I know - sometimes I have no clue what Q is saying and other times it's clear to all and othe times it's only clear to me. He's still trying out new sounds and repeating us a lot. Unless he wants something, then he'll command ask for it.

I was chatting to M as we were wandering round Sainsbury's on Monday and pointing out different food items. She was doing well with her identifying skills at first, she correctly identifed tomatoes (martoes), and humous. But then it all went down hill.... cheese was chocolate cake, sausages were bacon and smoked salmon was humous cake.

ronshar · 22/07/2010 10:22

At least she got chocolater cake in there

ronshar · 22/07/2010 10:22

It wasn't about shame. I was proud to bf. Very proud. I knew everyone could tell I was bf when I used it. Good. I have other issues which made the exposure difficult. Not shame.
It also decreases distractibility of ds while feeding and I could see him and he could see me through the top opening and it was a very intimate experience.
It is one if the things that helped me carry on with bf. I wouldn't have lasted past 3 months without it I don't think - I am ashamed to say that.... Because I wish I could say that I'm a good enough mother that I would have carried on without it. I'm not.

StarExpat · 23/07/2010 21:52

That's not to say that I wouldn't have been a good enough mother if I chose to ff. Just that I know the MN view is that.

I wasn't even good enough to do baby led weaning! But I still think I'm an ok mother. And Q now eats a variety if food and textures and is a healthy eater... It didn't harm him at all having mashed up food. And now, when he sits with other toddlers to eat - you can't even tell who did blw and who didn't.

Honeymoonmummy · 23/07/2010 22:06

Ha ha Pistachio. Loving the military Wagamama story

Hello all! Hope you're all well

I'm off to bed soon, can't keep my eyes open!

StarExpat · 23/07/2010 22:10

Probably! I wasn't a very good mother with weaning. I had some difficulty getting Q to eat more lumpy food at first but with patience he got it. And now he can eat absolutely anything so it was useless worry. and Now I worry over stuff that I'll likely look back on and laugh about .

Ok please substitute bad or not good enough for "not up to MN standards"
and by that I certainly don't mean this thread. October 08 postnatal is the most supportive and loving group around.
