If I were home I would have!! Was visiting csws' delicious newborn today! He is beautiful. I don't know how she survives each day with 3 so young!

coconutfeet · 26/07/2010 20:58

HMM - I've only just seen this. I'm not far from Canary Wharf at all and could have popped down for a coffee. Damn!

Oh of cuddles with baby J Star. Did you have a lovely time?

coconutfeet · 26/07/2010 21:00

It reminds me of the other day when I was cuddling a friend's new baby. S wasn't happy at all. He kept saying "Baby M finished now. S's turn". God knows what he'd be like if we actually managed to produce another one.

StarExpat · 26/07/2010 21:10

Q didn't seem too bothered. I did have to hand over J when D wanted to share Q's ball, though... And he cried! Q is appalling at sharing... Especially when he's not had much sleep - only a half hour in the car on the way there.
Q got very jealous when Naomi wwanted cuddles when we visited. But I don't think he saw tiny little J as a threat.
Yes we had a lovely time! Q is now sleeping hard!

ronshar · 26/07/2010 21:40

A lovely day at the CSWS home. Baby J is beautiful.
Nightmare traffic. I have to say a big thank you Star for a great job of entertaining two grumpy boys in the back of the car.

StarExpat · 26/07/2010 21:43

since when is "Quinlan STOP whining!!!" entertainment? Haha! Those boys can eat. Like nonstop hoovers. Ronshar was lovely company!

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/07/2010 21:53

thank you all for coming and for the lovely gifts everyone.
Just a v short message as still not managed to get j to sleep!
Think my gallstones might be rumbling a bit too, so must remember to watch fat intake over next wee while.

ronshar · 26/07/2010 22:03

You can send back the chocs if the temptation is too much for you

50ftQueenie · 26/07/2010 22:04

Had a lovely time visiting CSWS and the adorable J and lovely to see Ronshar & W and Star & Q too. I think I had more than my fair share of newborn cuddles. I think M will need some arnica tomorrow after a day of scrapping with D! Both DC are fast asleep after an exciting day.

Pistachio, is the blue Aveeno not working? I find that is like a miracle skin clear cream.
How is your latest assignment going?

coconutfeet · 27/07/2010 08:30

It sounds like you all had a lovely time.

I was going to ask a question about excema. I've had to get hydrocortisone cream for S too. I think the heat is making it much worse. But some of the patches aren't responding. I've also switched him to goats milk but I'm not sure if it's making a difference.I'll try and get some blue Aveeno. Can i just get it over the counter or do I need a prescription.

Oilatum jr cream works well here. Combined with the bath solution.

Lol pistachio what would you do if ds were allergic to cake?

I thought I'd all of a sudden want a newborn after cuddling J but I didn't. He is lovely and snuggly but I had forgotten how delicate they are and thought I might break him if I moved suddenly. maybe when Q gets to full time school we may change our minds... Who knows.
I was surprised because I thought holding a newborn would make me broody!

Mmr tomorrow and I'm totally FREAKING out!!!!! Please tell me it will be ok

StarExpat · 27/07/2010 20:50

Myjob bless you and ds he's in good hands and probably being spoiled and having lots of fun!! I'm sure I'd be crying like a tiny baby if my ds were staying away though, so I think your reaction is normal. I hope you and N have some fun special time together

StarExpat · 27/07/2010 21:08

Sorry.
I think you write spoilt not spoiled.

See I'm not made of stone and did feel all melty holding him - but also weirdly nervous and incompetent. And I've managed to keep one alive!

Thanks pistachio - hearing you say it will be fine really helps because I know you don't agree with it. In my heart I don't think I should let him have it. But the expense if the separate jabs would total a lot of money. I've just totalled it ALL up Inc the private gp visit fee...etc and it's more than one month's mortgage payment

Slightly higher here around 175 per jab + 50 private gp visit fee each time x 2 or each of the three jabs. 5 cases of measles in our area within the past few months and 2 cases of mumps. This is just my immediate local area. So I'm very worried about that.

I also feel badly that I'm thinking about price when it comes to this!! Very ashamed. But my parents, dh's parents, dh...etc all say just give him mmr. You can't get into university in the US without proof of updated MMR. So just more commonplace there perhaps?

StarExpat · 28/07/2010 07:33

I have officially ordered shred. Is anyone still doing it? I want to lose about 10 lbs and make my arms toned and thinner again.

coconutfeet · 28/07/2010 08:46

Star - You may have already gone, but I also felt awful before S went for his MMR. I had a sleepless night beforehand wondering whether I was doing the right thing (especially as I'd been reading a specialist autism magazine for work the day before and there are still a lot of people in the autism community who believe there is a connection), but it was absolutely fine. Maybe have a little treat ready to take his mind off the shock of the jab? Has Q been OK with his other jabs?

Very tired this morning - I went out for a meal for a friend's birthday and although I didn't drink much, I got home really late, and then couldn't bloody sleep. Gah!

Just found out that a friend of mine is expecting twins. She already has a toddler and is freaking out a bit. Any words of comfort for her? I'm ashamed to say that my first reaction was one of horror (not to her face, another friend told me) when of course it's really lovely news.
