Had a glass or three of wine, dh was watching the footie and I was bored, he he he

Sorry to hear about your dentist nightmares

What you doing up so late yourself? Hope it's not little Arlo keeping you up!

Are you coming to the Reading meet? was going to get ds's hair cut next week - very curly again, and then I thought of you and decided to wait until after the meet as he does look very cute (if abit Leo Sayery) bless

LipstickMum · 26/08/2005 22:46

teabelly · 26/08/2005 22:54

Ola Lippy . Nice to see you. So many different bottles/teats out there...dd will let you know which one she likes, but Dr Browns, Tommee Tippee and NUK all quite good in my experience.

Right off to bed now...dh has that maybe we should shag whilst the kids are asleep look in his eye and as I don't get any other offers these days I take what I can get actually his offer seems ok after 3 glasses of wine!

charleypops · 26/08/2005 22:56

I'm enjoying a glass or 5 myself of my newly discovered fave wine - Montana. Yum. Dp's doing Arlo tonight Yeah!!

So happy you remembered how I liked your ds's curls

I can't see why I wouldn't be able to come to the Reading meet - apart from I've not been to Reading since 1986 when I hitched down for the festival and I get scared driving to unfamiliar places....

but u worry when heart murmur is mentioned dont you.

Anyway i dont if its the baby blues im feeling as well keep crying all the time but my mum died last november and i think im still grieving thats what my health visitor said. So i hope you dont mind that I shared this with you. Hubby is been very loving but i just want to see my mam.

Well anyway got to go now crying again and im so glad you all seem to be copping so well.
love to you all xxxxxxxxx chat tomoro

charleypops · 26/08/2005 23:22

Aw, EYM, I'm so sorry you're in pain from missing your mum right now. You must have loved her very much, and still do.

"innocent heart murmur" must be entirely "innocent" and be of no consequence. I wonder why he bothered telling you about it.

Hope you feel better tomorrow x

Morning everyone (typed quietly for those with hangovers this morning ).

Well done Pink!!! You should be so proud of getting such great results with so much other stuff going on at the same time.

All is well in the Wednesday household today - DS2 is happily settled in his new room and for the last two nights has slept from 7.30pm until 3am, fed then gone straight back to sleep until about 6.30. So I'm feeling much more rested and DH is happy because I'm not as grumpy. We even managed to have friends round last night - with both boys asleep it was almost like pre-baby days It's so nice to have our own bedroom back again too.

Lua, no advice just sympathy on the cat front, it's not what you need when you've got so many other things to do. Have to say, I find my cats something of a chore since we had children , they are just another thing to look after unfortunately.

EYM, so sorry you are feeling low. It's not surprising you are missing your mum - when you become a mum it's only natural to think about your own mum, and it's not very long ago since she died. And all this on top of post-baby hormones! Take things easy, try and get plenty of sleep and eat well and make sure your DH looks after you.

Your doctor doesn't seem to be worried about the heart murmur, so you should really try not to as well (easier said than done I know).

Jonah, how's your DS getting on in his new room?

KVG, have fun shopping!

lummox · 27/08/2005 11:03

EYM - is an innocent heart murmur the same as ectopic/irregular heartbeat?

I had to go into hospital at 36 weeks because they found ds had an ectopic hbeat. I was beside myself with worry.

But we did loads of research on the internet and asked every midwife we could find and it turned out to be very common (around 14% of babies) in the few weeks before and after birth. A very experienced midwife who we spoke to said she had seen hundreds of cases. From the stuff I read it seems to be a fairly common "glitch" when the heart is maturing.

This p&ssed us off a bit, as the hospital had made us feel that it was something terribly unusual.

ds's heartbeat now totally normal btw.

Sorry about your mum too, but you couldn't have done better for her than having your ds. Last November very recent to have lost your mum - it's completely natural that you are still grieving.

eastyorksmum · 27/08/2005 15:45

Evening Junies hugssss

thank you for all your kind words, i feel a little bit better today just keep cuddling william and telling myself how lucky i am. Spoke to my dear friend last nite and she said i just have to think positive, and my mum would so love my little boy, and she is always with me.

Hubby has been fantastic too, did all the early feeds this morn let me sleep.I think I need to get out more, will try and find amother *baby group near me.

Also been positive im going to arrange william christening that wil be nice to have my family all together welcomming our little boy.

lummox i dont know if thats the same thing, doctor said innocent to me william has to go get checked over by peadatrition in the following months.

Hubby did read somewhere this can happen if baby has had a cold ect and william has a little cold at the moment lots of snuffles.

Anyway im going out tonite hubby taking me out to cheer me up and best friend is having baby, so chat later xxxxxxxx

charleypops · 27/08/2005 18:22

Hi

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Lippy - I'm at it again with the old Montana - really you should try it for your one glass of an evening. Dp's just gone and bought a crate of it

KVG - I think I had a night like that once - I felt like I could conquer the world afterwards! Just bought a box of 3 Dr Brown's bottles, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that they work a bit better. Which number teats do you use?

I hope our bare bum pooers go on to potty train easily...

MrsW well done for getting ds into his room. I've just got a bumper to try and get him out of his carrycot and into his actual cot. I'm scared

EYM - I forgot to say that since being a mum myself, I've been in a bit of an emotional mess regarding mine - and she's alive. Glad you're feeling better.

charleypops · 27/08/2005 18:24

Please can you tell me whether or not any of your babies kind of move their heads from side to side quite slowly whilst at the same time "mouthing" and sticking out their tongue. Ds generally does this when he's relaxed and we're having a "chat" or I think when he's wondering where his dummy or bottle is.....

tribpot · 27/08/2005 18:43

Good evening ladies! Hope you have all had a lovely day, we had a visit from a fellow MNer (although I know her from real life) along with her most delightful dd and her dh (also delightful, better say that as he is a good friend of mine!). Toby's baby gym got another workout but this was a little more like playing and less like the wholesale attempt at destruction it got in the week

Tea - I hope you got my email? Hope it's okay if we postpone; dh was going to go to Amsterdam today to see some friends, but Toby's passport turned up just in the nick of time yesterday, so we're all going to go tomorrow. To get the cheap seats with KLM we need to stay two nights, i.e. come back on Tuesday.

EYM - I really feel for you. Hope you have a lovely night out tonight.

Lua - sorry for not saying congratulations to you sooner! You go girl! Poor cat seems to be suffering some baby anxiety too, I hope he/she will mellow out over time?

Charley - Montana is my wine of choice when I'm in the pub Alas given Toby's habit of kicking off whenever we get there I normally have to drink it v quickly and thus not enjoy it as much as I should!

Lummox - Toby will definitely be entering the staying-awake-with-staring-eyes relay race, and I think there may also need to be an endurance category, how long can I get my mummy to carry me on her shoulder. I had to walk all the way back from the swings this way this afternoon.

Sfx - I am crying at absolutely everything these days. I'm sure it's normal!

Right-o, I had better go and get sorted out for our little trip to le continent. See you all soon!

charleypoppedapod - have e-mailed.

Re: Doc Browns - just bought 4. Am happy with them. Will do a thread. We're using 0-3 month teats (I guess slowest flow). dd seems happy with the flow.

eastyorksmum · 28/08/2005 09:41

Morning junies hugssss

Have a bit of a head this morn lol drinks are so much cheaper now then when we used to go in town with hubby a couple years ago. lol

Im based In Hull KVG and i cant drive,
so hubby does most the driving.

LOL Looks like we all have a little drink on the weekends i think we deserve it.

Im trying to think positive now, as my mum died of secondary breast cancer, and so did my autie, and one of my cousins had just been diagnosed as having breast cancer. I have 5 sisters and we all have to be checked now , mamagrams ect and we have to go to genetic clinic in castle hill wow what a lot to cope with on one week.

As for the olpymips william could do the projectile pooing lol he just missed my mouth was so supprised.

charley william moves his head side to side too
looks quite funny and why is it my baby smiles more for his daddy its so lovly to see.

Anyway hopefully we ll all have a more settled day today and were of to motherinlaw so i hope im not crying as much today.

chat later xxxxxxxxxx

mandymac · 28/08/2005 09:42

OMG - Haven't posted since friday and soooo much to catch up on. You have all been busy posting!

Coop - in answer to question on friday, no, no routine yet, unless by routine you mean trying to get dd to go down in her moses basket last night at 8pm due to red eyes, eye rubbing etc and being rewarded by 2 hours of shouting, screaming, crying etc . Finally got her to sleep after feed at 10.30pm.

Anyone got any recommendations as to how to get dd down earlier in the evening? What do you do?

EYM - Glad you are feeling more postive, I can't imagine how much you must miss your mum. Glad you have such great support from dh & friends around you!

Pink & Lua - Congrats. I can still remember the feeling of passing my driving test - freedom! .

Wine - yum! I currently trying to make 1 bottle last at least 2 days (I drink white & dh drinks red, so I get bottle to myself) . Is Montana white or red? Slowly building up my tolerance again, so I don't feel drunk in charge of dd. Am still bf, so can't overdo it, but don't think a glass (or two ) of an evening does any harm?! Keeps me calmer anyway, which can't be a bad thing.

Hope all are having a fab bh weekend. If weather cheers up, we are off to park in nottingham to watch cricket on a big screen, with barbies, beer tents etc. Well actually I'm just going to get out of the house, dh will be watching the cricket, if dd lets him .

mandymac · 28/08/2005 09:45

EYM - x posted. Good luck with your & your sisters tests! Glad you had a good night out.

teabelly · 28/08/2005 10:04

No real time to post now - just in case you're still there Trib - got your email - no probs - have a fantastic time over in Amsterdam - will catch up later

Hope everyone's having a good weekend

Catch up better tomorrow hopefully, x
