Evening all. Busy and interesting day. Have posted on FB some details, but i may be becoming self emloyed in the very near future

Miamla - have you got a bed guard? We have a BabyDan travel one which is really useful as we found DD1 fell out of unfamiliar beds more readily than at home so might be worth an investment

Girls being a nightmare this afternoon. DD1 already going without stories (although currently stroking my arm and saying 'love you' ). Roll on 7pm......

Naps: DD2 usually naps about 12.30 to 2pm, or if she has been up early (6ish) she might go 11-12.30

MrsMiamla · 29/07/2010 18:21

yup, we've got a bed guard but despite us moving him next to it whenever we check on him, he wriggles around so much that he often wriggles off the bed in the small gap at the end of the bed

nap wise DS usually does 11-1 ish and bed at 7/7.30 (depending on how much DH winds him up when he gets home!)

cyteen · 29/07/2010 20:09

DS generally doesn't go down till 12-1, and then sleeps till 2.30/3, but I think he is tired earlier (especially with getting up at 5.30 like today ) - it just often doesn't work out that I can get him to bed earlier, despite my best efforts.

Have nipped for a swim while DP does bedtime, lovely although DS is still mithering upstairs so I might have to be the relief shift.

TwilightSurfer · 29/07/2010 20:17

Miamla along with a bed guard we use loads of pillows with the girls. Not sure it that would help T. We tend to build nests at bedtime around this house. LOL!

Captain it will all come together in due time. You are changing a norm after all. My dd1 told me today while out that she walked the entire length of the mall holding her tummy properly. Pilates proper that is. She's such a doll.

Sazzles I'm heading over to FB now to see what's up.

Ta-da! O asleep and perfect timing for me and dh to go to the pub (Grandma is staying)

I can't believe the difference in my sleep since I gave up caffeine just 10 days ago - it's astounding

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/07/2010 20:59

LOL @ HoudiniBoy . Perhaps a padded cell for a few years might be in order?

Glad to hear caffeine expulsion is working Cece. The beer tonight will also help you sleep i'm sure

Off to HMRC website to work out what i need to do for this self employed malarkey....

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/07/2010 21:04

Ladies - a little challenge for you on FB if you please. There may be prizes

cyteen · 29/07/2010 21:30

CC glad to hear the caffeine freedom is working for you. I could never give up tea in the morning but I have made it a rule for many years now not to drink caffeinated drinks after about 2pm, because it ruins my sleep and gives me headaches.

QueenofDreams · 29/07/2010 22:30

cc I do the same as cyteen no caffeine after 2pm ish due to having sleeping problems. Pregnancy seems to have turned me off tea entirely though

DS napped at a MUCH more reasonable time today and yesterday. today he slept 12ish-2.30 ish and was much better this evening for it. I think he's been getting very hungry though - he's been devouring his dinner then needing MORE food afterwards. Yesterday he ate a big bowl of pasta then had two eggs after because he was still hungry!

I am soooo tired and DP not going to be back till nearly 11. He got stuck in boss's office till about 9. His boss really is a prick though you have no idea, and the way the guy talks about his wife

GladioliBuckets · 29/07/2010 23:58

Good work with the caffeine CC, will pass on your results to DH in the hope of converting him.

CrispyTheCrisp · 30/07/2010 07:47

Morning

Glad DS had a better day yesterday QoD. Sounds like a growth spurt so food and sleep will see him through

Off to search for caffeine........

hotterpotter · 30/07/2010 08:04

Pass some tea over here please (that's me yawning) last day at work today though, hurrah Expect still to be up at 6am tomorrow though, as DS seems to have an inbuilt alarm clock heard him wake up this morning and start calling 'wake up Tabby' until the poor lass had no choice but to wake up

GladioliBuckets · 30/07/2010 08:10

Morning all, decaf Americanos all round and some of the delicious apple cinnamon scones I made yesterday

oopsandbabycoconuts · 30/07/2010 08:17

Morning ladydeees

They slept - yes both of them slept!!!!! DD1 did 7-7 and DD2 did 10.30 to 6

NOw I have 2 very chirpy girls and I am going to spoil it by going pushchair shopping. I know I said I wouldn't get a double buggy but we have got to the stage where I am driving everywhere because it takes ages with DD1 walking if DD2 in the pram and when DD1 is in the pushchair and DD2 in the sling I can't lift and carry DD1.

Tea and toast calling

GladioliBuckets · 30/07/2010 08:39

Wooh! High 5 Oops, enjoy your uberrefreshed day.

Now, can somebody with money pleeeeease buy something in the Phase8 sale so I can live vicariously through them? So many super flattering dresses.

pertelote · 30/07/2010 08:48

Morning. Oops you know you don't ever need to justify going shopping on here

I am shopping too, I don't expect Oxford Street to be much fun but needs must.

Buckets the challenge is to make your sister something she either can't tell is handmade or which she has to admit is so lovely she wants it anyway...

QoD glad DS had a better day, our nap here is pretty early now too - if she's still asleep after 2pm bedtime suffers accordingly.

MrsMiamla · 30/07/2010 10:05

morning all!
had a lovely birthday morning with DS so far. He loves all of his presents and we've got some lovely photos

DH 'working' from home today.. they're currently doing an online health and safety training thing together!

MrsMiamla · 30/07/2010 10:09

as for whoever suggested a padded cell for DS...perfect idea! It also solves the problem of him ripping off his wallpaper Remember, all those hours i spent lovingly painting a design on his walls? he's stripping it off quicker than we can shout 'no' at him! Really don't know what the answer is (apart from only letting him in there wearing boxing gloves!) so any ideas gratefully received!

QueenofDreams · 30/07/2010 10:27

morning everyone.

miamla sorry to say I have no advice. DS still sleeps in his cot so we don't have these issues yet.

Yaaay for sleeping oopsagirls

buckets Yes he LOVES porridge. Sadly we ran out on Wednesday so it will be on our shopping list for the weekend. Love a good bowl of porridge.

hotterpotter · 30/07/2010 10:29

Happy Birthday MediumMiamla sounds like you are having a good day so far, hurrah

No advice on the wallpaper peeling I'm afraid, although DS doesn't do it to wall paper he is a terror with book paper . Honestly I poo-pooed all the talk about boys being more trouble than girls as just rubbish until I had a boy of my own

cyteen · 30/07/2010 10:42

Happy birthday little T! Have a great day with your loving mummy and daddy and Pea-to-be.

Buckets I am cursing you for a temptress Will let you know if I give in see anything I like.

QueenofDreams · 30/07/2010 10:52

Ooh forgot to say a big happy birthday to young masterMiamla

alittlebitshy · 30/07/2010 11:06

Happy Birthday mastermiamla.

hots yes me too - i always thought it was parenting with boys [blush[. ha ha, then i got one of my own. Granted he is not as troublesome of some little friends dd had, but boys have their own special brand of adventure and curiosity don;t they?

springaporesling · 30/07/2010 11:23

Happy Birthday T!

DS is good with books but has been seriously trying my patience today. Is 6.23 too early for wine o'clock?

cyteen · 30/07/2010 11:32

Depends - is it am or pm?
