Morning kittens

What's on the menu today?

Steaknife · 28/07/2010 08:46

Oops forgot to smooch LOTI and miamla

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/07/2010 09:19

Morning all

Hectic day yesterday drowning in piles and piles of paperwork. Ended up getting a headache as it was so close in the kitchen and i hadn't drunk enough. Just wanted to say thankyou to QoD for kicking me into action with sorting out all my financial paperwork as the pile was threatening to dwarf one of the DC's . I will keep on top of it now.....

cece enjoy the pilates - lucky you on work time

hots well done to T for being a perfect grad student. Not sure if they do that here as we missed the last day of term due to being on hols. Will have to make sure we are here next year

I went to the theatre last night with some friends to see Mum's The Word which was really funny. Recommend it if it is near you

Good to see you steaky and well done on all the business stuff. You have worked really hard

Gah, have to go parent.....

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/07/2010 09:24

Not drunk enough water that meant to say, before you lot start

GladioliBuckets · 28/07/2010 09:43

Wish me luck. Got to take all 3 kids into the busiest shopping mall in town and do errands before lunch or it will cost me a packet. 3 grumpy kids I can afford, 3 hungry ones I can't.

GladioliBuckets · 28/07/2010 11:39

HOOYAH! Mission accomlished and I managed to sneak an M&S bar or chili chocolate past them for me and DH this evening.

TwilightSurfer · 28/07/2010 12:26

Afternoon all

Just back from DD2 having her first lot of jabs Not sure who was more upset? DD stroked DD2's head telling not to worry.

Hi to everyone - just passing through on way to BF group.

QueenofDreams · 28/07/2010 12:45

hi all.
crispy you're welcome!

I've put DS back to bed as he's been throwing such strops. now need to go and put all the books back on the bookshelf.

Just had a letter through from the electric company saying that they've tried to come and fit a pre-pay meter! I knew NOTHING about this. Will be having words with DP I think. Gah.

i did hear some banging, but didn't realise it was at my door as next door's letterbox frequently flaps and makes a noise. I really wish people would KNOCK instead of flapping the bloody letterbox. He must have done this and I just thought it was next door.

springaporesling · 28/07/2010 12:59

TS I still have a baby tooth with no adult tooth to replace. I was told it would probably fall out after about 30 years but it's still going strong!

GladioliBuckets · 28/07/2010 13:52

Oh QoD you must be livid with DP, does he not trust you at all with household finances? (sorry missed a bit the other week I think). Sounds like he's got himself in just as much of a pickle as you - do try not to go ballistic though . If you can use this to get him to open up the finances and let you do some moneysavingexpert magic, things may perk up. Convince him he just doesn't have time to do it properly, that as a SAHM you can run the whole household finances much more efficiently - he just has to let you.

QueenofDreams · 28/07/2010 14:25

buckets I've spoken to him about it. He was just as confused as I was. He reckons that the company are doing this based on the date of the original invoice, when they're supposed to cancel it after issuing a revised invoice based on the meter reading. It isn't that long ago the man came and read the meter so I was really surprised to have this letter through this morning. DP will be calling them to sort it out. The amount they're quoting in this letter is the amount of the original invoice, not the revised amount. THat seems really confusing when I read it back!

GladioliBuckets · 28/07/2010 16:58

Etsylovers, is there any way of just browsing sellers from the UK only? I know you can skip anyone who doesn't ship to the UK but I'd really like to support British folk and (also not have to pay more shipping) and don't want to waste time looking at anything else. Am I being thick or do they have a sales tool missing?

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/07/2010 17:21

All sounds very odd QoD . Well done for not answering the door

oops hope DD2 is back up to full perkiness after being jabbed. I was fine when they were babies as i could breastfeed after and they calmed down in seconds. The worst was DD1's recent ones and now she is refusing to go to the docs despite her ear hurting as she thinks they are going to hurt her

Buckets, yay for successful shopping - i have to psych myself up to go with 2 so cannot imagine 3! No idea on Etsy....sorry

V of Northern meets - have a great time ladies

Today has been cleaning and washing before a good friend came over for lunch and we gossiped for ages in the garden and then at the park and put the world to rights

DD2's new phrase 'my tummy's gwumblin'

QueenofDreams · 28/07/2010 17:37

crispy there's a meetup and you're not GOING!! (am keeling over in shock here btw ) Love E's new phrase. S doesn't do proper phrases yet. ALthough he was chanting 'nye, nye, nye' while eating plums and peaches earlier. Then threw a strop when they were finished!

buckets I haven't got a clue about etsy sorry.

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/07/2010 17:56

LOL QoD. I have no idea if DD2 has any idea what it means, but she looks pleased as punch when she comes out with it

oopsandbabycoconuts · 28/07/2010 18:10

Crispy - I fed DD2 during the actuall stabbign and after - she was fine for hte first one but the second obviously hurt and she has a huge swollen bruise where it went in as she didn't listen when I told her DD had a scar tissue lump from her antibiotics at birth so stabbed right on the scar spot and had to really shove to get it in far enough. Love DD2's phrase ~

QOD - well done on avoiding the meter man - we had a similar bill confusion issue when we first moved in here.

Sourthern ladies - fancy a meet as Buckets suggested a few days ago? Zoo can be hell at this time of year, any suggestions otherwise?

Miamla - hope you feeling better soon.

DD1 fell over at BF group and put her teeth through her top lip but you would never believe it now!

CC hope pilates is/was good.

Hi Steaky.

QueenofDreams · 28/07/2010 18:16

oops this is our first bill since moving in here, DP hadn't set up the account online for submitting meter readings or anything, but then a guy came to read it so there was no point. And now this he'll sort it out.

DS is currently lying in the kitchen doorway crying. This seems to be turning into some kind of evening ritual!

TwilightSurfer · 28/07/2010 18:27

Buckets I haven't figured out how to do that either. SURELY there is a way. I'll go play with it later and see if I find a way.

Oops you made me remember that R needs some jabs. GEEZ! I'm forgetting a lot lately.

Queenie how odd.

Singapore my dh has the same as you! For R though it's absolutely an EXTRA tooth. My vanity side is clearly showing itself because I want it to be removed before it is notable. I don't want her having any reason to develop an image complex!!

Lucky you sound very strong and together with regard to your weekend and h. I want to give you the biggest (((((hug))))).

TwilightSurfer · 28/07/2010 18:31

Buckets I'm only finding the same as you. BUT if you use the ship to thing to narrow down the vendors then as your browsing mark the UK vendors as your favorites (individually unfortunately)...you will then be able to flip through the UK vendors by clicking on your favorites tab. That's a crummy way to have to do it though.

TS is that your mil interfering with K's maths tuition on fb?

CaptainCaveman · 28/07/2010 19:47

Queenie what are S's naps like? Just trying so see if its anything other than 2 yr old-ness

pilates was fab fab fab. I was teachers pet

Oh and I saw my friends tiny 5 day old little girl this evening [sigh] what a gorgeous little dot (she was 5lb 12oz at birth)

QueenofDreams · 28/07/2010 20:26

CC his naps have been a bit all over the place. So today he napped and was up by three, but yesterday and day before he didn't go down till after three. He wasn't as bad tonight as he was last night - he eventually came for cuddles and cheered up.

Love the tiny baby cuddles. There's a lady at bf group who's LO is only 7lb 2 now at 6 weeks old. Just the tiniest thing, and with the soft velvety head too. brought me back to earth when she sicked up on my shoulder though!

TwilightSurfer · 28/07/2010 21:06

nope...that's the cousin that just named her baby one letter different from K's. she's a teacher with 2 years of experience. she's kind but the standards in her area are NOT EVEN CLOSE to the standards in our area.
