mwah mwah world domination coming along just dandy thank you QOD

Check out my linky linky

www.summerlandcreative.com

Issy is doing really well, business beginning to come into focus and all sorts of other exciting things going on.

Wotchoo all been doing?

cyteen · 27/07/2010 20:20

TS you look lush

QoD did I read somewhere that you grew up with a particular breed of dog? (sorry, memory has gone - I think it was you) That could be a real advantage re. dog-walking, having experience of handling powerful breeds

Sorry if I was harsh earlier btw, had a rubbish afternoon of being Shouty Mummy

Steaky hellair stranger Welcome back, with your swishy new website and all.

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 20:23

I look lush or look like a lush? LOL!

I have just booked our inaugural family camping trip! Well, I say 'trip', it's only one night, but I'm still excited.

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 20:26

Will you be in a TENT for the 1 night? Sometimes 1 night in a tent can feel like a month so "a trip" it is in deed.

OP posts:
cyteen · 27/07/2010 21:03

Yes, our brand new tent! DS has his very own blow-up bed and everything Don't worry though TS, we're camping next to a very fine pub so not exactly in the middle of nowhere

QueenofDreams · 27/07/2010 21:06

steaky coo look at you with the swanky website and everything! It's really good to hear things are on the up for you.

cyteen I kind of snapped and became shouty mummy as well this evening In my defence I think I held out pretty well, seeing as it took nearly an hour of his constant ear piercing shrieking to push me over the edge!

And yes it was me - my mum used to breed staffies. She has a violent dislike of Rottweilers and Akitas which she has passed on to me though!

Thanks a lot for advice ladies - will begin investigating the possibility of care work tomorrow, will also take a look in morrisons and see if any dog walkers are advertising to get an idea of the going rate.

hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 21:07

Ooh come on with the tent porn then cyteen Which tent did you choose and where are you going?

hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 21:10

Queenie my little sister who has drifted through the last 20 years is just training to be a care worker! They give six days of training I think so not too much, and like buckets said it's pretty well paid & they are crying out for people to do it. Good luck!

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 21:11

Cyteen that makes me laugh!! Camping next to a pub!! EXCELLENT!! Yes, I agree with HP, please share a bit of tent porn please.

Did you go again already Steaky? Sounds like life is being good to you, well done after all your hard work

I have just marked my holidays off on the calendar and am delighted to realise I will be not working a grand total of 25 days in August

hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 21:51

Did everyone go? Doesn't anyone want to hear how brave my lovely DD was today, singing with the other children in front of all the mummies and daddies and sitting in the big chair to get her leaving certificate and shake hands with the centre manager? Her mummy on the other hand was snivelling like a loon . i can't believe her nursery career is already over. Must have been quite an emotional day for her too as she has been quite vile with tiredness this evening

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 21:59

NEWS FLASH: Tooth Report....
R has an extra tooth. Goodness! He said not to worry now. It will look crowded but it won't be. He'll xray her at her first official visit (in a year) to see if there's a permanent tooth trying to follow suit. The extra will fall out like all the others & if there's a permanent extra he'll pull that before she gets or requires braces.

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 22:01

HP Did you film the performance?

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 22:05

Wow TS some girls will do anything to get one more charm than their sisters Glad the dentist is not worried

We filmed a bit of the singing, DH fluffed the photo when she was receiving her certificate but we have a sweet one of her in an emerald green cap and gown . It is utterly ridiculous but also quite a nice way to mark the transition. Hope all the nursery ladies like oops' brownies which we made for them

cyteen · 27/07/2010 22:11

Ahh hots, bless little T I don't blame you for bawling like a good'un; I barely made it through J's transition to the big kids' room at nursery without a surreptitious sniff.

We got the Outwell Nevada tent and are camping, funnily enough, in that pub you were pimping to all us Northern meeters a while back

Anyway, off to bed now so goodnight all x

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 22:15

Cyteen that's a snazzy tent (googled it).

HP Didn't think about it that way but I you're right. LOL!

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 22:24

re campsite well it is good of you to do a recce and if it's OK we will all have to come next time! Great tent too

Right I'm off too, work in the morning but only 3 days until HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

longwayfromhome · 27/07/2010 22:29

hello everyone, off to leeds in the morning and so off to bed now. My parents have wasps, and mum was very impressed when I said "oh we'll look up what to do on mumsnet".

Playgrounds here in the UK are fab as well, there are some really good roundabouts at a local park.

DS has a little buggy to push, and a new buggy board.

DD is gorgeous as ever (well they both are) and babbles away.

I'm going to see hotterpotter and no1 on Monday, hurrah hurrah hurrah. (although sad to miss the northern meet).

dizzy some quiet thoughts for you with anniversaries and work.

springasingalong helloooooo (because you often say hello to me when I post in the middle of the night). It made me laugh when you said that you find England not very clean at all in relation to Singapore. I find it so nice here, everything works, and there is no dog poo covering the pavements.

buckets I meant to say ages ago that my sister gets stress related tummy ache, and has done so all her life. Really horrid for her, and she is well aware that they are just related to stress. She tries all sorts of over-the-counter tablets I think but says she only stops getting them when she isn't stressed, which is rubbish for her, as when she is stressed then having tummy ache doesn't really help matters.

hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 22:30

Oh, and lwfh and No1 are coming to my house on Monday Anyone else who fancies a cup of tea and a bun is more than welcome

longwayfromhome · 27/07/2010 22:31

PS hellooooo to everyone else, and especially waiting for camping reports and hints ... off to greenbelt at teh end of August

hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 22:31

X-post with you there lwfh! See you on Monday

springaporesling · 28/07/2010 03:59

LWFH glad to hear you're having a lovely time and have fun at the meet-up on Monday

Steaky nice to see you. The website looks great.

Miamla not to scare you at all but my friend who is having twins is having them on Saturday. I think she's due only slightly before you (she'll be 37 and a bit weeks on Saturday).

Dizzy sorry for frantic day. I really hope that the business really takes off so that there comes a time when you don't have to go back to the shift b*tches.

QoD hope the research into the dog walking and care working goes well. What was your degree in and what did you before S arrived - sorry I can't remember!

CaptainCaveman · 28/07/2010 07:33

hotpot I wish I wasn't working on monday, else I'd come too!

cyteen loving your camping trip, I think even I could manage one night next to a pub Only we don't have a tent and dh won't go camping

qod I second bucket's suggestion at Toddler Taming by Christopher Green - I used it for ds1 to great effect, even if it was helping me to understand why he was doing the things he was doing. Also I started out as a care worker through a chance meeting with a friend of a friend. This led to me training to be a nurse, then a District Nurse, then a manager and now to senior management. Thoroughly recommend it

wotcha steaky

dizzy i hope that whatever made you GRRRR yesterday seems a little more distant today?

Meet up at my house on Tues 17th Aug - all Aug 08 mums and lo's welcome

dizzy your constant busyness with work/dh/and world domination continues to amaze me ..

i a world of my own atm trying to work things out in my head.. went out with "h" at the weekend, was lovely just the two of us but not sure if we will work as a family iykwim.. he is still being great with the girls and has started looking for somewhere else to stay... he doesn't want to but i think totally agree with what you all have said in that we need this time apart to figure out what we both want!
