spring I don't know about bitterness - it could possibly be. She always wanted a boy, and she has two girls. So maybe it is bitterness that I have a boy, I don't know. But she's always been a bitch to me from when I was very tiny, and this has never changed. She's also inherited being self-indulgent, self absorbed and completely oblivious to anyone else's feeling from my dad.

CaptainCaveman · 27/07/2010 12:35

queenie really glad you are getting organised financially, it will be such a weight off your shoulders. As for you sister at her comments to your sad miscarriage. She sounds like an absolute delight.

Just nipped on during lunch break, off to a committee meeting then will nip back later . I'm just soooo much happier since giving up caffeine and dumping a HUGE workload

hotterpotter · 27/07/2010 13:32

Will be back later to chat I hope; just about to set off to nursery for DD's 'graduation'. Despite being a little and wtf about the whole scenario I know I am going to cry like a little girl

dizzydixies · 27/07/2010 14:05

AARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH am fecking demented AARRGGHHH ARGH ARGH AARRGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Hotter - toughen up you big girl!

QueenofDreams · 27/07/2010 17:11

You ok dizz?

I've just tried applying to KFC for a job. within a minute I had an email back saying I'm unsuitable. I mean - the form didn't even get to a real person FFS. I am unemployable. I've spent a fortune and 3 years on a degree to end up unemployable. Fuckit. KFC FFS - how hard can it be to ask 'do you want fries with that?'

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 18:15

Miamla I did it again!!! I am sorry. Did I correct my slip up fast enough? Are you ready to hang me? Quite honestly I'm ready to hang myself. GRRRRRRR!!!! I can not be trusted because I FORGET too much!!!!

Crisp I do believe you're daughter speaks plainly. Do not hide from the obvious! LOL!

Queen perseverance is hard but you will overcome the obstacles!!!!!

No news on the R's tooth issue. We had MASSIVO storms yesterday afternoon so no neighborly visits. Maybe today.

Off to skim farther back down the thread.

Yikes - DS lying on the floor having full-scale hissy fit. Shrieking, flailing limbs and all

Wouldn't mind fast-forwarding this phase tbh!

dizzydixies · 27/07/2010 18:21

just been a VERY long day sorry. If I had the energy I'd post but its not quite far enough past for it to be so bad its funny give me a few hours. Thanks for asking though.

Do you mind if I ask you something? I know its fucking annoying being skint, trust me I know. KFS wasn't a good fit so move on. Back to my point. Have you tried popping a card for cleaning/ironing in the post office window? I think you need something cash in hand that you can do on your own terms in your own time. Nobody in this climate is keen to employee anyone nevermind someone that is going to be going off on matty leave soon. Have you sorted your maternity grant as well?

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 18:22

Buckets we use a stairgate on the girls' room door at night. R however is doing a super job of going to bed properly. It's her sister that still has issues. R is like, "K bed!" Too cute!!

I've just realized my 5 minute blunder was not on Miamla's page....so very far away from all her rl circle. It was still a blunder. Sorry.

I think I need a Tolberone.

dizz DP not keen on me doing cleaning as I don't even get our own cleaning done! (I do see his point here) Ironing - Um I'm really Really crap at ironing - I'd have to refund anyone for any work I'd done i do agree though that I should do something on a self-employed/cash in hand basis. just don't know what!

Maternity grant - um didn't know there was one is it the same as the Health in Pregnancy thing.

Oh dear - S has progressed to throwing toys now. He's gradually wiggling his way round the room because of his flailing!

GladioliBuckets · 27/07/2010 18:31

Did anyone suggest the name KitschNStitch for a company?

QoD Have you got Dr Christopher Green's book 'Toddler Taming'? It's brill, might help you get inside S's mind a bit - have a look in your local library.

QueenofDreams · 27/07/2010 18:35

buckets I will look at that - I've picked him up and cuddled him. He stopped crying for a few seconds then climbed back off my lap, returned to lying on the floor and is now thrashing around screaming his head off again! he's kind of rotating in a circle now. Anti-clockwise.

GladioliBuckets · 27/07/2010 18:41

LOL I'd just stick the tv on. CBeebies closedown song has always been Kurt's lullaby!

dizzydixies · 27/07/2010 18:42

Queenie whilst I agree in principle with your DH - by the way you describe it 'needs must' over rules. My DH is not keen on me up baking all hours/doing deliveries/ working 10hr shifts/managing 3 kids and trying to look after my dad from 200 miles away all whilst struggling with depression re the loss of Gabriel and anny of Josh and my Mum however, needsmust If he can't come up with a better suggestion than cleaning then I can't see how he can have an opinion on the matter. You can't afford childcare so it has to be something you can do from home or at night when he gets back OR something that you can take S with you too. Dog walking? There are two signs up in the post office today for dog walkers in the area?

Sorry if that sounds harsh but after that I'm all out of suggestions.

GladioliBuckets · 27/07/2010 18:47

Actually Qod I've just thought. If you quickly registered yourself as self-employed and got a few hours of anything in, you might be eligible for Maternity Allowance when the baby comes. It's really complicated but have a look here. I was lucky when I got pg with Kurt that I was doing 7 hrs a week care work (might be an option for you, pregnancy wasn't an H&S issue, they are always desperate for people, the pay is not bad and I could pretty much name my hours.)

GladioliBuckets · 27/07/2010 18:49

Pet/plant/house sitting in with the dog walking service?

GladioliBuckets · 27/07/2010 18:56

More re care work: You get paid while you shadow because you are working as a team of two. Yes it can be pretty gross but you already change nappies everyday and I managed to do it through morning sickness. It's also v rewarding and nice to meet new people and learn someting totally new.
Re taking work in, iirc your DH does too much unpaid overtime so if you needed that time to earn money it could be a good thing overall.

cyteen · 27/07/2010 19:01

QoD

It's not up to your partner what you do with your working time.

Especially since he seems unable to discuss your joint finances in a grown-up manner.

TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 19:27

since my last post i have successfully colored my hair. i really only washed out the "washed-out blond" look that is a result of my high $$priced$$ salon color. i swear my stylist is using a different color product now because my hair USE TO NOT do this. anyway she is on her way to vegas tomorrow and i want a fresh color for my DATE NIGHT on friday. so home color it is. DD1 said their no difference but there is. it's enough for me to be happy about and that's all that matters. OH and it only cost me $8US and 5 minutes time.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 27/07/2010 19:28

please ignore ALL the typos in that last post. thank you.

QueenofDreams · 27/07/2010 19:37

Dizzy not harsh at all and I fully take it as it's meant. Dog walking might be an idea tbh - have no problem with dogs at all.

buckets that also has given food for thought - there are a few agencies round here dealing in care work - I will look into that tomorrow I think. No not your 'dream job' but as you say I deal with nappies all the time anyway!

Steaknife · 27/07/2010 19:42

What's up kittens?

QueenofDreams · 27/07/2010 19:47
