Buckets - have you any ground almonds? LOVE LOVE LOVING the blog!

Queenie - are you taking him with your or babysitter?

Cyteen- boiler ishoos here too which might be fixed soon. Huge sympathies!

QueenofDreams · 20/07/2010 18:06

dizz I was taking him with me. I've decided not to go now - he's too unsettled and if he carries on like this at the wedding then it's unpleasant for everyone, and the people who were giving me a lift there would then be in an awkward position wrt getting us home early or whatever.

dizzydixies · 20/07/2010 18:19

ah, you're right then. No point in being anxious all night and worrying about getting home. Give yourself a break until you're feeling better

GladioliBuckets · 20/07/2010 18:35

Miamla How about Big Blue Teapot crafts or something unrelated? Or All Out Of Gingham? Blueandwhitecookiejar.co.uk ?Although perhaps the faux 50s thing will be on its way out soon - 80s Nescafe ad red and white kitchens are back afterall. What's the name of your campervan again? Or name it after some design inspiration, like an artist or product you love, that sums up your product range style perhaps. Eg it might be Bowery Crafts, with lots of shiny pvc-wrapped objets.

CaptainCaveman · 20/07/2010 20:20

lol-ing at my own stupidity to suggest a trade name for miamla which has cock in it!

DIzzy it's all work related stress - too much of it and only one of me (well 30 hours of me to be precise!) Been to Occ Health today and had a good sob, and basically the OH nurse is writing to my manager to say some of the work has to go or I'll end up being more ill and going off with stress. Feels a lot better after that. I'm seeing my manager on Thurs but she's very supportive so am expecting good things from her . OH also suggested I make a list of all the physical symptoms of stress i've been having like going bald , tense jaw, sore throat, yawning a lot, crying more than usual, shouting at the kids .

Thats all me me me, I really don't have the effort to say anything other than 'Hi gang'

CaptainCaveman · 20/07/2010 20:45

Sorry if i scared you all away there with my moping . Am away to get a grip on myself, and to enjoy a glass of vino!

Hahaaaa, MN just got mentioned in Outnumbered! DP groaned

GladioliBuckets · 20/07/2010 22:11

Don't worry CC this is the last place you'll get complaints for moaning. This is the moaning safe house.

Cakeyladies, please help! Need a foolproof recipe for creamcheese frosting please, mine always goes to runny. Aiming for 6x4 flavours of cupcake so I can then sell 6 multipacks (like Krispykreme). I have so far lemon drizzle (soaked with lemon liqueur and will be frosted too), chocolate aphrodisiac and sticky toffee. Thinking spiced carrot for the last batch.

pertelote · 20/07/2010 22:12

Hullo you all. Back from France. Nice time. V hot, lots of ILs.

Ummm.... that's all. Sorry to see sadness on the thread. Hugs to everyone, will get back into the swing tomorrow.

dizzydixies · 20/07/2010 22:17

feck Buckets I just chuck it in the kenwood until it tastes right and then chill it overnight!! will have a look in my foolproof book in the morning

Cece - moaning very definitely allowed

welcome home Pert - glad you had a lovely time.

dizzydixies · 20/07/2010 22:20

Had a text from Sazz - shall quote:

Sorry not have been on. Lovely here, temps in the 30s and pool lovely. E split her head open needing 3 stitches and L has an eye infection, otherwise all relaxing! Friends have sold house so last time here Hope all well, wish you were here

sounds like and invite to me so I'm game if you lot are

dizzydixies · 20/07/2010 23:08

Miamla - I have it I have it!!!

S m i t t e n S e w???

TwilightSurfer · 21/07/2010 03:09

just skimmed...

  1. kenwood is audio equipment here so laughing at dizzy's comment.
  2. i'll pass on crashing sazz's vaca house. sounds like you take a beating there.

drowning my emotions with busy-ness (thus the painting). girls room is done apart from a few touch ups and baseboards. they are both back in there tonight. THANKGOD! i couldn't take one more night of little size 8's in my face. attempted big bed and R got really confused. dh had to put her playcot back in the room. she's asleep in it now even though she had a perfectly nice spot beside her sister in the big bed (there's a queenbed in their room). db is back in my good thoughts after my dad said he(db) was pissed about sil posting on fb. there was not a lot of detail shared but that was enough for me. going to attempt to sleep now. i've been unable to sleep for 3 nights. shall i just say i am NOT happy about that. night lovely ladies!!

Whoops, just watched Kurt roll backwards down the stairs in slow motion. Seems fine, bit shocked and has just got up from a brief lie-down on the changemat.

hotterpotter · 21/07/2010 08:14

buckets, glad he sounds OK, flipping daredevil babies. I caught DS the other day on the landing trying to climb over the top bannister and plunge headfirst down, luckily I grabbed him in time. They do seem to be still fairly rubbery though don't they, thank goodness.

Sooooooo tired today, lateish to bed then DD up several times in the night and being sick from coughing at 5.30am, poor girl . Stopped at a red traffic light on my way to work, got distracted singing and didn't realise the lights had changed Oh well only 7 hours 47 minutes till I can go home again.

Love to you all, hope everyone is well today

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 08:24

@ Buckets and @ Hots and [meep] all round!!

Hots, hope today flies by. Tis pissing with rain here but that's fine as I have cakes to make I ran a competition for people to add friends and win cakes and it went really well fortunately for me I had a local winner so I'm not needing to post stuff to the lady in Canada who is wanting some! Posting stuff WILL happen but at the moment I just need to build up a decent fan base.

On that note I've a delivery to make to Cupar this morning. Poppy has very kindly asked for a repeat order to take to friends and another MNer who visits family in the area is desperate to try some too

am off before I bore you all into a cake induced coma - have a to keep you going x

oopsandbabycoconuts · 21/07/2010 08:25

Morning all

Lovely Dizzy and DH - thinking of you today {{{{hugs}}}}

Coffee, decaf, tea, juice, gin - take your choice for brekker this morning.

DH away to Belfast this morning he was up at 4 which eneded up being perfect as DD2 woke at 3.55 so I didn't get scared out of my perfect sleep by the alarm. I have to say how much easier mornings are without him helping out. There has been no fussing, rushing, argueing, hyping up DDs. We were all downstairs dressed, showered and fed by 8 having got up at 7.

HP - have a good day

Crispy - Enjoy the rest of your break and {{hugs}} to poorly injured girls.

for all those stressed by life at the moment.

DD2 has started really smiling at the world now - she used to reserve them just for me but DH and her big sister have taken over as favorites now. DH played a game with her last night and she smiled and was cooing at him and when he stopped she was looking side to side for him and beamed when he re-appeard.

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 08:30

thank you Oops - DH away to bed to sleep off a very busy nightshift but we shall have a moment later

if E is smiley (and who would have believed otherwise?!) then I shall be needing copious amounts of photos please so I can scratch and sniff the computer screen

how long is DH away for?

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 08:31

Morning ladies.
S a bit brighter this morning despite a really unsettled night. Managed to get him down properly after a dose of calpol eventually. I am shattered however.
dizz I saw your comptetition. I didn't join as I felt getting lovely cakes from Scotland to Kent would be too interesting a challenge!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 21/07/2010 08:37

He is only gone 1 night but his first night since E was born.

Will pop some piccies on the property porn page on FB.

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 09:15

oh bless DS is trying to put a sock on saying 'ock, ock'
ooh dear now hes frustrated.

turns out dp's boss is trying to talk him into going to new york to sort out the books of a ckient (real mess situation)
Said to DP I bet he's not going to give you a pay rise to do this crap is he? Of course not dp's increasingly doing stuff that was not in the job descrption, but he's had no increase in pay
And it looks like S is back to crying

oopsandbabycoconuts · 21/07/2010 09:30

MrsM - was thinking about your baby blocks/pinnys/bunting things you have been doing. I came across a little romper suit we bought for DD2 when we were in Oz. it was a plain yellow good quality romper and the lady had appliqued a little bird on the front and added details such as eyes and beak with stitching. We also have one with butterflies on it. I We in a hormonal holiday mood paid an stupid amount of money for it. Will put up a piccie on my prifile once DH gets back with my camera.

Off to make brownies for BF group this afternoon.

cyteen · 21/07/2010 11:24
