Ds is now driving his train up my arm, over my shoulder and across my boobs, saying 'toot, toot, toot' the whole time.

luckoftheirish · 21/07/2010 13:44

watcha oops/mrsm/buckets..

having day from hell.. 1st day of full childcare, need to get dd1 a new passport so i have been to the post office twice and the office three times and still haven't filled it out properly arghhh.. to be fair the first 2 were an old colleagues fault, last time was me .. so will have go back to the post office again to ask for another form to be filled in!!! i am a complete banana

GladioliBuckets · 21/07/2010 14:12

Hi QoD, LOVE it when they use you to play on. DS used to force my legs up into a 'mummy mountain' for his toys to travel on.

Loti Has DD2 settled at nursery then or did you find anopther option? Good luck with 4th attempt at passport.

Party countdown: My kitchen is now presentable and I have rigged up some -old-- sheets a sailcloth over the patio to keep the evening sun off the hunky barmen. Got to go make frosting now before schoolrun.

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 14:22

you're not allowed to moan about the weather seeing as you're going on your jollies

now, who has a commercial fridge I can borrow?? no??? thought not !

MrsMiamla · 21/07/2010 15:48

commercial fridge? erm no, sorry about that!

so i'm guessing you don't want to hear about the gorgeously summer's day we're having here if you're all getting drenched!

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 15:50

nope - sod off

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 15:55

Ok I need to ask you ladies something - I need you to tellme if I'm being grossly paranoid.

I found a couple of photos in Seb's room, among all the junk that's piled to one side. I've never seen these photos before or even knew they existed. They were obviously taken at DP's work christmas do. They are group photos of him and his colleagues. However, what's bothering me is that in the photos he has his arm round the shoulders of one of the girls. She is pretty with short dark hair so exactly his type. And AFAIK he's not the type to randomly drape his arm round peoples' shoulders. this , combined with the fact that he has never shown or even mentioned these photos to me, is making me rather uncomfortable and suspicious.

Am I just being paranoid? The way he talks about his colleagues I wouldn't have thought he'd be on the sort of terms with any of them to drape his arm round her shoulders tbh.

GladioliBuckets · 21/07/2010 16:07

My first thoughts are that if a bloke is going to snuggle up for a photo he is more likely to do it if next to the pretty girl he hates/likes/is indifferent to, than the blokes. Doesn't mean he's interested in her. Plus the fact they were left lying around S's room and he hasn't mentioned her at all, suggests to me she's not on his radar as anything other than officelicious eyecandy.

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 17:13

and if he had something to hide they certainly wouldn't have been lying about but stored away somewhere. Just ask him. You've already had one of his children and are having another one so if you're feeling remotely bad - ask.

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 17:26

thanks ladies. I reckon he was just tipsy so a bit more relaxed and sociable than usual. I might mention it casuallythis evening. Ask which of the girls it is or something, but I do think you're right.

TwilightSurfer · 21/07/2010 18:07

Queen, whose arm is on top...his or hers? If he is one who is typically quiet in the office SHE, the girl pictured, may have been politely trying to get him out of his shell and festive for the office party photo. In which case her arm would be on top. As for him not showing you the photos...men could care less about such crap. Seriously. A picture isn't useful and has a worth of about ZERO on the money scale.

That's just my personal opinion.

VG have a wonderful holiday.

Buckets I can't wait to hear about your party.

Never enough time lately for me to finish a post.....be back in a flash......

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 18:14

TS she does't have her arm around him as far as I can see - he is standing right next to her with his arm round her shoulders. Just like he does with me when we're walking somewhere - arm round shoulders, other hand in pocket.

TwilightSurfer · 21/07/2010 19:05

Then quite possibly she could be his lover and they've only been allowed work time to indulge. The party was a fantasy evening. SERIOUSLY! I am joking. I'd not invest an ounce of worry about this. Sounds to me like you are hormonal and missing some touchy feely quality alone time with your spouse. YOU'D like to be the girl in the picture even if it is just a "pose with a colleague". Believe me you aren't going to get what you want by asking him about the picture. Make TIME for the two of you to be alone, go out, enjoy each other. One evening SOON put S to be early and GET NAKED just for fun. No talking allowed. You can't get any pregnanter so there's no worries. You are WOMAN so ROAR and rock his world.

how do i teach my child to keep her shoes on? we've 4 weeks until school starts and she's "off with the shoes" after about 30 minutes. she can't wear crocs or sandals; it has to be shoes shoes.

how do i teach my child to give up her pacey? she's emotionally attached to the blasted thing. her sister has her fingers (yes, i said has....she's still sleeping with her fingers in her mouth at age 6!)

those are my parenting problems for today.

captain have you had a blood test lately? i'm wondering if your hair loss is something other than stress. you've been on my mind loads lately.

singapore how is the wee one today? is the rash better??

laundry is calling.....

QOD i can't match TS's psychology! But yeah, I'd just ask in a non-suspicious way.

Good news! I've managed to dump pass on one of my most time consuming workloads to a colleague who has too much time on her hands capacity . Result. We handover next week. Yippee!

Day 2 of decaffeination is going well, although I could've murdered a pepsi max with my tea

VG are you offering me a massage? I'll gladly pop over to the Emerald Isle to recieve it. Have a lovely holiday - where are you going?

buckets you tire me out just reading about your lifestyle

dizzy go go go fbg take over the World

oops I was reading about your dd2 smiling and thinking 'surely she's not old enough to smile' but then remembered we had that whole conversation recently about her being 6 weeks old!

Good vibes if you would to my dear friend who is 39+5 pg with her dc2

CaptainCaveman · 21/07/2010 19:16

TS was thinking about going back to gp, must book an appt for next week. Thanks for the timely prompt

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 19:25

cc good to hear decaffination is going well. A few months ago I was havin real trouble sleeping. I didn't cut out caffeine but set myself a cut off time - no caffeine after 2pm. I really felt that worked.

Thanks ts you know you do make me smile!
As for giving up the dummy - I don't know, S still sleeps with his, and I'm starting to wonder how to get him to sleep without it. It's so much a part of his sleep routine.

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 19:34

TS - I'd leave the dummy alone, DD2 had hers till last Nov and she was 4 in May and regards the shoes I find that telling them they can't have something instantly makes them want them

buckets - hope the party is going well

Cece - great news re the workload!

time to go and put the oven on!

QueenofDreams · 21/07/2010 19:43

Argh S supposed to be sleeping but has decided to start screaming his head off instead. GOing to leaveit five more minutes before going up there.
I really want my happy, smiley boy back. This mood of his is just getting very very tiring.

dizzydixies · 21/07/2010 19:51

am trying to get a sodding flyer written for the cafe that will be supplying KnB goodies this weekend and having a complete mind melt - off to bake something for some inspiration!!

Hope S settles soon Queenie

longwayfromhome · 21/07/2010 20:06

I slept with a dummy until I was 7. Yes, that's right, 7. Unsure what my mother was thinking, but with this in mind have absolutely no plans to stop DS sleeping with his.

On the other hand a couple of my mum friends from the park went cold turkey with dummies and said that it was fine.

Have graduated from the no cry sleep solution for babies to the no cry sleep solution for toddles. Mum says that she is unsure why I think that the new book will work, given that I have no evidence of this from the first.

DS watching cbeebies on iplayer. How cool is this. And England is so clean and nice.

Love to all, and thoughts.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 21/07/2010 20:59

I am sitting here feeling very gulty about not doing 'something' with DD2. DD1 is in bed, pizza express pizza eaten (1/2 price in Morrisons) DD2 is in her bouncy chair, fed, cuddled and is now talking to her ladybird and duck hangything and occasionally smiling at me... Should I be reading to her in French or teaching her to sew?

DD1 has discovered the joy of baking today she did mixing and pouring in ingredients (and eating butter) then I found her sitting on the dishwasher door licking all the spoons which were waiting to be washed - the chocolate chilli brownies mix confused her slightly ' mmm yummy, ooooh spicy' was her reaction. Mine was 'get off the dishwasher door before I shout!'

CC- I think you need to get your bloods done at the GP with you increased hairloss and other symptoms.

Dizzy - I was channeling you today 2 dozen mavis's made and 2 dozen brownies for a baby shower tomorrow!

Queenie - I'm sure it was one of those 'everybody more closer' instructions before the piccie was taken.

TS - leave the pacey and with the shoes - put them on as you let her out the car and let the teachers deal with it!

TwilightSurfer · 21/07/2010 21:21

shoe before enter school.... BRILLIANT!
