dizzydixies · 19/07/2010 14:19

thanks Cyteen

haven't been to stockists today, have spent day digging out house from under boxes/broken gazebo etc so will do stockists tomorrow when DH not dashing off to work

raining here, thank goodness my friend and her kids are coming for tea as my lot are beginning to get cabin fever

hotterpotter · 19/07/2010 18:44

There is so much sadness around hope you girls are doing OK, and you know there is usually someone around here to talk, offer virtual tea or inappropriate touching

lwfh glad you made it back safely, and am v much looking forward to meeting you sometime over the summer. Sadly that country park you linked to earlier is a bit far from us but am sure we will find somewhere more appropriate I seem to remember you posted some dates you were free a few weeks or months ago, I could go back and look but I'm too lazy so tell us again...

hotterpotter · 19/07/2010 18:59

Springa well done on finishing your exams, hopefully forever . When do you get your results?

Queenie I hope S is feeling better now. I saw on fb that you had heard your baby's heartbeat, hurrah

Albs I hope you have got some good stuff today and oops I hope you managed a nap!

Loti hope DD2 had a nap today, it would break me if DS didn't. Have you tried pushchair + big hat and off for a walk? Or gin

TS glad to hear you and DH are still 'rocking' after all these years

Oh these babies are whining, better get them ready for bed. 2 mornings in a row of 6,30am wakeups are not good for anyone

I'm sorry, there's nobody here at the moment.

Please leave a message after the beep

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2010 20:04

lol miamla you trying to tell us something?

cyteen is it inappropriate to wish Simon a Happy Birthday? I hope you've been ok today too

Aww, have been reading back through our old threads which lasted a couple of days on average! Got all nostalgic and soppy for you lot .

I still don't know who albs and mrsm are talking about though . Did you meet up with her at the hospital?

dizzy hugs to you for all of this week (and always)

Have been on no3 of my 'work survival course' today (government run thing) and I have made a potential discovery....I drink WAYYYY too much caffeine. Like 5 cups of tea plus at least one litre of Pepsi Max a day. Might explain my added stress and poor sleep? So I'm de-caffing myself down to 2 cups of tea a day for next 3 weeks to see if that makes a difference. I feel a bit better too.

lwfh will look into Whisby, how long are you around for?

MrsMiamla · 19/07/2010 20:12

just that i'm absolutely shattered! Pea woke me up early, been at work all day, came home to a very excited DS (tiring just watching him running round) and plans to see my cousin on thursday all changed. i was a bit pee'ed off to start with. aunt basically told me and mum that we were going to her house, not cousin's blah blah blah. But actually, its going to be alot easier to get to aunt's, we aren't now preparing and bringing lunch with us (aunt is doing it) so all in all it'll be better!

i'm off to read my book and pretend DS is fast asleep and not upstairs calling for us and giggling!

he was v cute tonight though. put himself into naughty corner. he's been really good all day so DH reckons he's planning on being naughty later and just boosting his credits up!

MrsMiamla · 19/07/2010 20:20

sorry, i appreciate i'm not giving out much loving to you all at the moment. i am thinking about those who need it and i''lll be back to normal service after some sleep

hugs and girlie lovin' to all

MrsMiamla · 19/07/2010 21:02

argh! and now i'm back to whinge! DH just told me i've not done anything in the last two years!!! He apparently didn't mean anything at all, he was referring to how i still haven't restored the dining table or the 4 chairs I inherited just before DS was born. Erm no, carpentry hasn't really been high on my list of priorities ffs

he did cook dinner though so has slightly redeemed himself oh but has also pointed out that his way of parenting today meant that DS went to bed better tonight. fine with me, guess who's looking after DS tomorrow now (despite me having the day off work!)

i'm just so tired and probably wouldn't have felt half as picked as i do if i wasn't

ooh but i've got another business name to run by you all...

J u s t S e w n

what do we think? (and yes buckets i do mean you too!)

off to bed now

night all and i'll be back with smiles and a sympathetic ear tomorrow...i promise!

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2010 21:16

miamla I like that, but I'm wondering if it slightly lacks a 'pizzazz'? Given that I'm not remotely creative, I would probably click on the gimmickiest name I could find if I googled that sort of stuff. Might just be me though .
For instance, if I saw S T I T C H E D U P, I would think it was a dodgy company
Some basic (and I mean very basic) consumer research there from me

I'm sat in my conservatory, feet up, laptop on lap and drinking a nice cold glass of vino . I'm trying not to stress about work/hair with some success (and have only had 2 sips of wine!)

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2010 21:18

Your dh is a cheeky feckbag . Done nothing my arse. How about raising your pfb, organising your wonderful wedding, creating and carrying pea. As for dh's parenting meaning ds goes to sleep better - ask him where the bejesus he's been for the past 2 years whilst you struggled on waiting for the better parent (ie, the man, obv) to stick his two penneth in.

MrsMiamla · 19/07/2010 21:25

thanks cc i'm glad i popped back..you've just made me laugh! so come on then, what name would you choose? what would make you click on my name and think 'ooh, i wonder if she sells nice stuff?' (don't forget to put the spaces in, just in case i do use it!)

as for DH, it all came up in conversation because i've got a garden bench that needs new slats of wood and i was saying how i still really want to repair it. he asked when, i told him not til after Pea's here because i'm shattered doing what i'm doing already. so his comment was 'oh, well it won't get done until Pea's at least two then' He's currently in his shed but i did make him a cup of tea before he left so we're friends now and i think he realises his feckbagness.

MrsMiamla · 19/07/2010 21:27

really am off to bed now, see you all in the morning. i suspect i'll be first up so feel free to pre-order any breakfast requirements!

cyteen · 19/07/2010 21:38

Thanks for all your good wishes today. Am beyond tired so off to bed in a minute, but I leave the camping ladies with this question: what tent have you got? DP and I are in the final stages of deciding, but would be interested to hear what everyone else uses and rates. So excited about future camping holidays (any holidays tbh).

Still reading back through our old thread...so many names on there I had forgotten! Whatever happened to Chacha and bealcain? Nice ladies

cyteen · 19/07/2010 21:41

Aw look, just found my post from after Si's birthday two years ago:

"Every time there is a significant day for Simon - funeral, memorial stone laying, birthday etc. - the weather seems to turn gorgeously sunny and windy. It makes me smile thinking of him sending us fine, exciting weather for the day."

And it was like that today.

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2010 21:45

cyteen that's fab! Your brother just made me smile, with his nice weather . Sleep well my fellow E Midlander. Did you enjoy twinlakes? we love it there!

miamla I will give it much thought....

Night ladies, dh wants laptop to find game cheats answers to his lego star wars dilemma!

morning ..

coffee,decaf{for cece}, tea, rlt for mrs m..

serious sleep issues here from both dds grrr.. managed to get dd2 to nap for the grand total of 35mins yesterday!! however she then wouldn't go to sleep til after 8 and considering she was awake at 5.45 that not good.. also refusing to eat any of my nice home cooked food except for mash ..

tis nearly 10pm before dd1 decided to go to sleep too!!!

anyway, cyteen thought about you all day yesterday hugs.. that was a lovely post you wrote two years ago ..

vg those are all great names, i have not a jolt of creativity to hats off..

mrsm grrr with dh, you have accomplished a hell of a lot these last two years hugs..
watcha cece, how did your hockey go at the weekend?

dd2 attacking comp so back later xx

CaptainCaveman · 20/07/2010 07:29

OK now I know I'm stressed as sleep has turned to shite (mine). Slept ok from 11 til 4 but then tossed and turned til O woke up at 5 40 when I gave up and brought him downstairds . A subsequent 15 min power nap on the sofa has boosted me a little!

Anyone else's lo discovered the delights of screaming in frustration? O does it regularly througout the day and its driving us potty. I'm fairly sure it's frustration with his language skills etc but I don't remember ds1 doing this

miamla in my early morning musings I also came up with T H E C R A F T Y C O C K N E Y but theres 2 things wrong with that (potentially). 1. you may not be a cockney! and 2. you prob don't wish to be associated with a fat beer swilling darts player

MORNING LADIES

CaptainCaveman · 20/07/2010 07:32

Morning LOTI hockey was great thanks, a real boost even if we only played 40 mins of 6 a-side, man it was warm!

I'm on the decaf earl gray as we speak

dizzydixies · 20/07/2010 08:55

and 3 you may not wish the word COCK anywhere in your business name!!!

morning all

Cece - there is nothing worse than not being able to sleep well done on taking some positive steps. Can I ask are you worrying about things or even remotely anxious? How about trying a little rescue remedy? Glad your hockey was good.

LOTI - what a night is 'd'H home at all or has he moved out now - apologies if I've missed that Sounds like DD2 is overtired to me and you need to break the pattern. Have you popped her in the car and just driven till she sleeps? Take a magazine/book or drive to picnic spot to play outside the car with DD1 whilst she naps? Just a thought.

Not a great night here either but my own fault as friends came over to discuss the next stage in KnB cakey-bakey domination and by the time I went to bed my head was buzzing with ideas. DH was supposed to be finished at 1am but got home after 3am due to the bridge being shut - he had to drive all the way round bless him. I had told him last wk it would be shut and there were signs up so had he left work 10minutes early he would have gotten across but instead he forgot and added 2hrs to his journey home
