let's leave them in a quarry and steal their shoes

RedRedApples · 06/05/2010 21:37

Great article LadyA and so nice to know that Colin Firth has a day job to see him through the lean times...OK I feel better

The wonks (led by Colin Firth) are guessing with 12% plus say 10% non count rate which probably under counts the lib dems.

sits back puffs on pipe

animula · 06/05/2010 21:37

That link is funny theyoungvisiter. Especially the equation.

theyoungvisiter · 06/05/2010 21:38

let's start our own exit poll here.

What did you vote today?

Me: labour.

So far that's a 100% swing to labour, folks.

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 21:38

Hoochie you are right

phew

I can sit in my bedjacket and listen to Radio 4

Francagoestohollywood · 06/05/2010 21:38

Oh exit polls are evil. Here in Italy they always give the centre left party a good % and then it's always evil Berlusconi winning the elections.

policywonk · 06/05/2010 21:38

Ppl have started tweeting #blackarmband for tomorrow as well.

Please keep saying nice things about exit polls, we have another 22 minutes to exist in this Schrodinger's Cat scenario before we might have to face the awful truth...

Bucharest · 06/05/2010 21:39

If it's 44% they are going to be there until I retire. It can't be 44% Everyone keeps talking about wondering the streets and seeing lots of young people voting. Young people don't vote Conservative do they????

I am going to have to be one of the first to slope off to bed but will be back before all the constituencies who declare at 5am have finished....

I'm loving all these tales of stoic old mums and young whippersnappers voting for the first time....

I've hardly dared look at any other threads since Monday as as long as I just stay on the leftie ones I can pretend that Xenia and the Tories are just a Figment Of My Imagination.

I do feel I want to run round hugging everyone on this thread (in manner of yer woman on 4 weddings) and telling you all how lovely you are.....

I was 32 in 97 and I'm going to be 97 before the next Labour govt gets in aren't I?????

Italian TV (who broadcast from that socialist bedrock Chelsea.....) said that The Waxman winneth.

I wonder what Ian Hislop votes.

MarionCole · 06/05/2010 21:39

That's not a bad idea actually, perhaps I'll go to bed with the radio on.

sfxmum · 06/05/2010 21:39

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 06/05/2010 21:39

Eton Mess is a cop out dessert

taffetatactical · 06/05/2010 21:40

lol @ theyoungvisiters exit poll

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 21:40

Ian Hislop said he would vote for the fictional Vince Cable party I think.

onebatonevote · 06/05/2010 21:41

The Times @timesjoanna is doing an election roundup email at 1, 3, and 5am - so if you think you're not going to make it but have laptop or smartphone, you could just check it if you wake up in the night. If you have a nightmare, say, about the end of public services as we understand the term. Or about pink, pink Tory cheeks.

It's http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article7084654.ece here.

WilfSellOut · 06/05/2010 21:41

OK the poll was from LinkedIn. Which means if it was sampled from their members, can't possibly have been representative, surely?

monkeysmama · 06/05/2010 21:41

I keep posting in different threads thinking Im
on here. Just posted on some BNP thread. WTF. Am
going to write a spreadsheet of them all.

Who remembers 1992? That was bad.

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 21:41

I do think I live in a bit of a bubble - i know no one voting Tory but apparently there's millions of the feckers

I can't imagine a large turnout would mean that people are pissed off enough with Gordie to vote.

I thought Gordon was brilliant in the debates and I think he's a good PM - I have literally no idea why people take against him so badly

Can people not see past the dour Scots exterior? (I am Scots so i don't notice it at all)

LadycAshcroft · 06/05/2010 21:42

44% is a rumour. I heard (but I cannot tell you where am hearing Labour is @42%. We can all make up random figures.

We decided if Sunderland is lost, we are going to bed.

KayHarker · 06/05/2010 21:42

right, off to take my tablets, see you later.

Linkedin is all Cpts of Industries and Eton types.

WilfSellOut · 06/05/2010 21:43

And apparently DH say the person who tweeted 44% no longer appears to have a Twitter account (illegal to formally declare exit polls before polls close?)

expatinscotland · 06/05/2010 21:43

In W.Scotland, Tories are persona non grata.

We only saw one Conservative poster.

And it was in Largs in Ayrshire, some distance from us.

And it had been vandalised with 'BASTARDS!' spray-painted across it .
