Prettybird - yes I'm in your constituency. Safe as houses for Labour but I didn't vote for him!

Neither did !

My thinking was if we could make it less safe, maybe the next time more people would have the courage to vote for someone other the the monkey in the red rosette.

Dh, however, thought long and hard and rather than voting SNP as he and I (now) usually do (I was brought up Labour but even my dad can no longer stomach them after Iraq), he has chosen to take the national (UK) picture and voted Lib Dem on the basis that if they get a high enough percentage of the overall vote, then maybe, just maybe (), we will get rid of this FTP system that creates an elective dictatorship where the party that less than half the coutnry actually voted for gets to form the governemnt and you may as well send parliament home for all the difference it makes

......and breeeaaaaathe

Done, took the DCs who were very interested. Always feel a frisson of excitment when I do and a little bit emotional - part of the bigger picture - stuff [soppy moo emoticon].

Came home from work slightly early, so was in and out by 5.30. We did have to queue for a short while - have never had to do that before! It's always a lovely feeling, walking past the neighbours and saying'have you been yet?' etc.

Just been talking to somebody who knows some of the people who have been filming DC lately. He is, I am told, a tw*t.

janeite

DH is good friends with a current conservative MP (safe seat and a really sound person)
He confirms he is tw*t and more oily than mazola.
