Mine is John Healey, labour, and I strongly suspect a labour victory here as its never been anything else.

Who holds your constituency and will they return?

(trying to get away from the depressing threads)

OP posts:
SawneyBeane · 04/05/2010 18:14

Ed Vaizey here too.

RunawayWife · 04/05/2010 18:18

Our is Tory, and will be Tory after the election as it is a stronghold (surrey)

EccentricaGallumbits · 04/05/2010 18:18

Claire Perry. V safe Tory.

Wordsonascreen · 04/05/2010 18:26

Due to the boundary change I can't remember its a Sir Someone,I did get a leaflet and have seen him gurning in fields its a safe Tory seat so they've not really bothered.Tory boy will romp home.

I don't really think anyone is worthy of my vote so will probably spoil.

SanctiMoanyArse · 04/05/2010 18:31

Labour and he will get back in as won some fancy MP award (goodness knwos how, worse than useless IMO- nationally am not anti Labour but this man- er yes)

It's be LD otherwise though

mememe30 · 04/05/2010 18:35

StrictlyKatty- I had been considering him. I really think we need to send a message to Westminster that it is not acceptable for the constituents of the speaker to not be given a choice.

snowlady · 04/05/2010 19:16

Safe tory seat in surrey.

KurriKurri · 04/05/2010 19:46

Leningrad the BBC site here may be of interest.

dannyblanchflower · 04/05/2010 20:03

Liam Fox - safe Tory seat for years, but that doesn't stop me waiting up half the night watching the telly just in case.

(First post btw - I heard that it was the done thing to announce!)

MumInBeds · 04/05/2010 21:22

PinkFuschia - I would be stunned if Luton South went Tory but it's not beyond possibility.

feetheart - Hello neighbour. I'm hopeful for the Lib Dems too Qurban Hussain has does well for the council. I love Joe Hall's enthusiasm too though.

Molesworth · 04/05/2010 21:27

KurriKurri, thank you for that link. It tells me that the notional 2005 result in my (new) constituency would have been this:

Conservative 43.8%
Labour 29.7%
Liberal Democrat 20.1%
Others 6.4%

Probably worth sticking with labour then. I wish I had some way of knowing how many labour voters will be going over to the lib dems this time!

SuziKettles · 04/05/2010 21:31

Mine was Mohammed Sarwar (Labour) who's standing down with a fabulous record for most expenses claimed in the House of Commons but pretty dismal voting record and a record of zero replies to a variety of questions/requests from me over the last few years. Good riddance.

Will probably be his son, Anas Sarwar, taking over his father's hefty majority(also Labour). I'm a bit but I've met him and he seemed nice...

The SNP & LibDems massively reduced the Labour majority in the European Elections, but I don't think that means anything given that about 3 of us voted.

epithet · 04/05/2010 21:36

Jim Knight, who I believe was the only Labour member to increase his majority in the 2007 election .

However, as that was largely down to the bizarre antics of the then Tory candidate, and we are still perilously marginal, I fear his quadruple-barrelled Tory rival might get in on Thursday .

Allidon · 04/05/2010 21:38

Our out-going MP is Jim Devine, and due to him being charged with expenses-related fraud he won't be standing obviously. Ours is a pretty safe Labour seat, but our MSP and council are SNP so I wouldn't be surprised if it swung that way.

animula · 04/05/2010 21:43

Sadiq Khan (Labour) here, too. He voted against the war, has always come back to me when I contacted him about anything ... rather like him.

Con candidate already seems the sort to make us deeply embarrassed should he be elected.

Which I didn't think likely, but now ... .

Rindercella · 04/05/2010 21:43

Tony Baldry. Cons. He will still be there on Friday, no doubt at all. Cameron's country pad is not a million miles away.

Drive along the country lanes round here, and it is true blue all the way.

digitalgirl · 04/05/2010 21:47

Lynne Featherstone - Lib Dem. I'm hoping she stays.

TheFirstLady · 04/05/2010 22:06

Are you in Tooting, Animula? I campaigned there for Labour in the 1997 election. It was a reasonably safe Labour seat then (although we still worked the phones and the doorsteps very hard), I am amazed to see it is likely to go Tory this time.
I was 7 months pregnant with DD1 at the time and I remember feeling shattered but determined my child would be born in a Labour constituency under a Labour government. I stayed up all night and went into work the next morning ecstatic.
Now DD1 is 12 and thinks Nick Clegg is the chosen one! Go figure!

animula · 04/05/2010 22:10

Hello, First Lady - yes, though probably should be a little more circumspect.

Yes, I thought it was pretty safe, and I thought the Con candidate actually a bit of a joke, but it seems not to be the case. Which is very, very shocking.

I've been out delivering leaflets, but not chatting (fear I'd be a liability). I shall think of you pounding pavements as I wander about now.

ZephirineDrouhin · 04/05/2010 22:33

Sadiq Khan here too. Didn't really believe that vile Mark Clarke had any chance of taking Tooting so I'm horrified to hear this jafina.

animula · 04/05/2010 22:37

[Hi Zephirine.]

Think we could start a "google your candidates" campaign here?

TheFirstLady · 04/05/2010 22:44

Just googled Mark Clarke. He sounds even worse than the Conservative candidate where I'm living and I didn't think that was possible. Good luck for the next 48 hours guys. Keep on plugging.

SlartyBartFast · 04/05/2010 22:58

charles hendry here, very blue.
in 2005 he had 52% and the lib dem had 23%, the labour 17%
feel my vote is just a drop in the ocean

becksydee · 04/05/2010 23:11

jeremy corbyn (labour) here - it's a very safe seat, none of the other parties stand a chance. i don't mind too much though (despite being a dyed-in-the-wool LD supporter), he's an excellent MP. if only more labour MPs were like him!

Rindercella - my parents are in tony baldry's constituency, any mention of his name in their household is usually accompanied by at least one swear word ... and always by the word lazy and/or useless

fedupwithdeployment · 04/05/2010 23:18

I am in Tony McNulty's seat...until Friday I predict. He claimed approx £60k for his parents' house in Harrow while living with wife a few miles away. He has a slim majority so I predict that a rather smug looking Bob Blackman will get in for the Tories. I have voted LD, but they are currently in 3rd place.
