Who is your MP? What is your prediction?

Mine is John Healey, labour, and I strongly suspect a labour victory here as its never been anything else.

Who holds your constituency and will they return?

(trying to get away from the depressing threads)

OP posts:

Can't remember his name (Henley) but is a Con and it's always been a Con safe seat, so no prizes for guessing what'll happen on Thurs

MumInBeds · 03/05/2010 17:54

Mine was Margaret Moran until she 'stepped down' - I'm not sure who will get in here after the scandal she has left behind - we have 12 people standing here including Ester Rantzen.

Molesworth · 03/05/2010 17:54

Malcolm Rifkind here. It's very unlikely that he'll lose his seat

MollieO · 03/05/2010 17:55

Teresa May, Con. Such a strong majority I imagine it will stay Con no matter what.

wastingaway · 03/05/2010 17:57

Ed Milliband, so prob get back in, but the boundaries have been changed and it's a bit more 'aspirational' round here, so for the yellows.

weblette · 03/05/2010 18:00

We've Cheryl Gillam who is just so bloody complacent - we haven't had a single communication from the Tories, no-one canvassing. They're so so certain of winning they just don't feel the need to bother

She's never around in the constituency, unless there's a VIP to press the flesh with, or a photo op to be had. Absolute waste of space.

Really really hope the Lib Dem candidate gives her a run for her money.

LittleWoodenCakes · 03/05/2010 18:04

My MP is Peter Tapsel, he's been in since 1966... He will return and then he'll be made Father Of The House.

Great.

SweetnessAndShite · 03/05/2010 18:06

My current MP is Keith Simpson (CON) but I am now in the brand new Constituency of Broadland. Keith Simpson is standing here but I have everything crossed for Dan Roper the Lib Dem candidate. KS is very old school and never see him at anything in the constituency, also never appears to go to the House of Commons to vote on anything so God knows what he actually does do! Some of the new Broadland constituancy has come from North Norfolk which is a current Lib Dem seat with the excellent Norman Lamb so I am really hoping that will help the Lib Dem cause. I think it's gonna be close and my vote might actually mean something this time!

policywonk · 03/05/2010 18:08

Mine was a fella called Ian Taylor, a Tory who was on lots of science-related sub-cttees and has now stepped down in minor expense-related disgrace. New Tory candidate is Dominic Rabb who is one of those exotic, slightly disconcerting Tories (like sharon fruits or something). The LibDems are hoping to make an advance here in terms of proportion of the vote, but don't have a chance of winning.

Lilymaid · 03/05/2010 18:12

Jim Paice, Conservative. Had a majority of just over 9000 in last election over Lib Dems. But this election might be interesting as the Labour candidate has been expelled from the Labour party - so a potential nearly 12000 votes are up for grabs - and there is a UKIP candidate who might take some previously Conservative votes.

CantSupinate · 03/05/2010 18:22

Norman Lamb (LibDem). I reckon he's safe, however...

This was a very close Marginal (with Tories in 2nd) in the 2001 election then Lamb firmed up his lead in 2005 and now seems very popular; he is active and quite visible on the ground (has visited DC school, came to a preschool gala, his wife even donated a cake!) -- plus he is a rising * in the LibDems, spokesperson for health, I think.

sethstarkaddersmum · 03/05/2010 18:22

mine is called Greg Knight. he's a Tory and I haven't seen a single poster advertising anyone else in the whole area and we have been driving around a lot what with it being bank holiday.
There were a couple of defaced Conservative billboards though - one said '££££ for the rich' and the other simply 'C*NT'.

he will return but he voted against gay civil partnerships and I have just read that DC wants to allow them to be called marriages so hopefully he will find the new Conservative party a slightly less comfortable place to be than the old....

NoahAndTheWhale · 03/05/2010 18:23

Alistair Burt, Conservative. Our MP was Nadine Dorries (she of the £50 in the bra fame) but boundary change means we now have changed.

It will be a conservative seat. As it has been since who knows when. Nadine Dorries will also stay being MP I am very sure.

NoahAndTheWhale · 03/05/2010 18:25

We have only had things from Conservatives and UKIP. There are a lot of Conservative placards around, including a post thing next door and a massive poster in the field over the road. Hope the cows like it.

PortBlacksandVoter · 03/05/2010 18:32

Noah - we have those Cons posters in our local fields too. There's no chance another party will get in round here though.

True Blue Shrewsbury here....

DuelingFanjo · 03/05/2010 18:34

mine is Jenny Willott, Lib Dem.

I am asuming she will get back in but not really sure why. She's not knocked my door at all but then nor has any other bugger.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 03/05/2010 18:41

Dueling you're near me!

We have Stephen Williams, Lib Dem who won in 2005 after a Labor MP since 1997, but before that William Waldegrave. Anyone remember him?

Boundaries have since been changed. Bristol West, really should be called Bristol Central.

Either Labor or Lib Dem. Way too close to call, but definitely not Tory.

Ours was Stephen Buyers Labour.

Thankfully he retired, but it is a safe Labour seat and a very nice local councillor Mary Glindon is running for them.

I do not know the Cons one, but somebody said he was a lawyer from London. (It was a Tory friend of mine, so I just took his word for it.)

maximinimum · 03/05/2010 18:59

Labour MP Michael Wills who is not standing again. It's a marginal seat but I reckon it will go Conservative sadly.

KayHarker · 03/05/2010 19:01

Swing seat, curerently Labour. Think it will go blue

MrsJohnDeere · 03/05/2010 19:01

Peter Lilley, Conservative. Very safe seat.

MmeTrueBlueberry · 03/05/2010 19:03

Phillip Hammond - he'll be there on Friday.

bradsmissus · 03/05/2010 19:04

Peter Bottomly - Conservative - I think he will definately keep his seat - Conservatives have got around 47% of the votes in the last 3 General elections.

threestars · 03/05/2010 19:12

Richard Bacon - Conservative. Safe seat. His face is beaming out from all the fields around my village like a shiny gammon.
