Do post your advance questions here.

OP posts:

ID cards are voluntary? Really? Is that why you tried to force all airport workers to be obliged to buy one so they could go to work? Is it no longer true that we will be obliged to have one if we apply for a passport from 2012 onwards?

alysonpeaches · 03/05/2010 20:07

Gordon,
What are you doing for children and adults with autism (asked before)
Why are we unable to get any support from social services?

EccentricaGallumbits · 03/05/2010 20:07

I know it's against the rules to slip in an extra question but...

Do you think I'm going to pass my exams this week? If you could spare me a thought at 10am tomorrow it would be much appreciated.

What will happen to practice based commissioning if you stay in power?

fords · 03/05/2010 20:07

Err is bad...

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:08

To quattrocento - our debt level is the same as America, France and Germany and far below that of Greece - our economy is growing and the Greek economy is contracting. It's vital that we don't do anything that would put our economic growth this year at risk. That's why the Conservative policy is, I'm afraid, going back to the 1930s when we are now in 2010.

Beaaware · 03/05/2010 20:08

Dear Mr.Brown,
If I go into hospital and need a blood tranfusion can you reaasure me that I won't be given infected blood with vCJD? I am over 13 years of age. Is this a Real Issue for the Labour Party?

Brollyflower · 03/05/2010 20:08

Has anyone else got Dispatches on?

LillianGish · 03/05/2010 20:08

My DH heard you speak at Methodist Central Hall today and said you were amazing. He overheard Michael White of the Guardian say it was the best speech he had ever heard you give. Good luck on Thursday.

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:08

SuSylvester, it was lovely to meet you too. I thought it was a great evening all round.

I completely agree on victims support ? we?ve increased the amount that offenders pay to victims over the last few years, not just through the victim surcharge but with compensation and confiscation orders as well ? but I totally agree that victims shouldn?t have to wait for the money or get it in dribs and drabs. That?s why in our Manifesto we say that victims should have the option of getting the money they are owed in a lump sum up front. There will be a small one-off cost in setting this up but it will cover its costs over time.

hatwoman · 03/05/2010 20:08

Gordon - I just asked my daughters if they would like to ask you anything - they both said to ask you why school dinners are "so gross". despite the Jamie O effect they have had "gross" school dinnners at 3 different schools now.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/05/2010 20:08

Gordon - thank you for your answer on the deficit.

Wouldn't you say though, that considering the last published growth figures were just 0.2% for the quarter, that you are being optimistic at best and delusional at worst to hope that economic growth will pull the country out of the current disastrous position?

Also begs the question why you weren't putting some away for a rainy day during the decade of economic growth but growing budget deficit that you presided over as Chancellor....

Piffpaffpoff · 03/05/2010 20:08

Hello, no question from me, but I'd just like to say to you that I think the treatment you (and Sarah) have got the in the press the last few weeks has been awful. As others have said, you seem like a fundamentally decent and good man who is trying to do his best in very difficult circumstances. Good luck for Thursday.

WhiteNoise · 03/05/2010 20:09

To broaden what AlysonPeaches has said. Why are children with children with "invisible disibilities" unable to get support from social services?

teamcullen · 03/05/2010 20:09

I take it that there are no plans to support our young people then.

Great! gun and knife crime are likely to continue to rise then.

I might have to invest in bullet proof vests for my DCs

megcleary · 03/05/2010 20:09

Could you please answer as to why you gave away the gold reserves?

May start singing it now.................
You should answer this one its retrospective, all the answers you are giving re the future you know you haven;t admitted half of what we will have to do as a country to pay the debt.
channel 4 last night discussing how there may be talk of bringing in charges to see the GP.............

neenz · 03/05/2010 20:09

Yes thank you for extending mat leave and introducung the right to request flexible working. That has certainly helped me, I would have had to quit my job otherwise.

And also thank you for abolishing some of Thatcher's anti-union legislation.

fords · 03/05/2010 20:09

Dispatches would definitely be more entertaining than the snooker!

policywonk · 03/05/2010 20:09

My older son has taken a dislike to Nick Clegg because he was talking over Alistair Stewart during the leaders' debates 'and that's just rude'.

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:10

alysonpeaches - we have just released the first ever adult autism strategy and we are continuing to talk to all the different charities and groups about what more we could do.

ShrinkingViolet · 03/05/2010 20:10

Gordon, Thanks for responding to the home ed questions, but really, there are plenty of checks and balances in the system already, we don't need any more. We simply need the ones which are there to be used properly.

onebatmother · 03/05/2010 20:10

Ooh look! Gordon relaxed. And who is that gorgeous bird in what looks like.. a new, NON-BODEN dress?

alysonpeaches · 03/05/2010 20:10

Thank you whitenoise, for broadening my question. Im still hoping for an answer.

MmeLindt · 03/05/2010 20:10

Beaaware
You have posted your question dozens of times. Why don't you write GB a letter? The guidelines state one question. It is rude and unfair to keep posting the same question.
