Just had to get that off my chest.

Please come and join me if you feel the same, and then I can stop annoying myself (and others) by hijacking the anti-Tory threads.

I wondered what you meant by normal, as if ever there has been 'normal' in this country, it has been rule by aristocracy. There have been more years/decades/centuries ruled by the elite than by the labour movement. So, that is what normal would be should you wish to revert to it.

You really think Cameron would be any different whatsoever to Brown? Same shit, different suit.

newyorkshire · 02/05/2010 23:35

can I just say on education... rather Ed balls idea than the tories which is to leave kids and their parents with NO RIGHT to appeal when their child is excluded.

b4real · 02/05/2010 23:36

ATLANTIS Can you touch type? it's so much quicker!

b4real · 02/05/2010 23:37

NEWYORKSHIRE You agree with Balls putting children on lists?

newyorkshire · 02/05/2010 23:38

Also, going back again here, but who trained your teachers at your private schools? The state of course. So, who is getting nothing back?
Whats wrong with the EYFS?

BecauseImWorthIt · 02/05/2010 23:40

What's the problem about calling you TRD?! How ridiculous.

b4real · 02/05/2010 23:43

BIW Some people like to be known by their full name.... however long it takes to type it!

TheRealDemosthenes · 02/05/2010 23:43

well, because that is not my name, mainly. My name is TheRealDemosthenes, not TRD. I asked nicely I thought.

BertieBotts · 02/05/2010 23:44

BIWI I didn't take that comment as snarky, more like "Would you mind not calling me Sam, as I prefer Samatha, thanks"

TheRealDemosthenes · 02/05/2010 23:44

It really is not very nice to call me ridiculous.

newyorkshire · 02/05/2010 23:52

do you agree with the conservatives axing 40000 jobs in the public sector?!
do you think that the conservatives making no commitment to protect funding for schools and colleges is a good thing?

newyorkshire · 02/05/2010 23:57

do you agree that key stage 2 tests will be retained and made even more rigorous for our dear children ?

TuRD · 02/05/2010 23:58

becauseiamworthit how about this? Better? I abbreviated it for you.

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/05/2010 00:02

Whatever

(Although I'm liking turd)

lilmissmummy · 03/05/2010 00:02

I think that cuts have got to be made somewhere and the Labour government has made such a mess of our economy that they cant be trusted to be in power again. On public spending alone they overspent by over £22bn on projects like the NHS project - budget was £2.3 bn and current spend is £12.6 bn.
Facts from here , it makes very interesting reading!

You may think that people who vote Tory only care about themselves but I believe that people who vote Tory are trying to save our country from ending up like Greece. Yes we may have to give up some of the benefits that we received under a Labour government but these benefits could never be afforded!

TuRD · 03/05/2010 00:03

its a bit like cameron this name. You cannot polish a turd.

lilmissmummy · 03/05/2010 00:03

ps. The NHS project was for a new IT system.

expatinscotland · 03/05/2010 00:09

'You may think that people who vote Tory only care about themselves but I believe that people who vote Tory are trying to save our country from ending up like Greece.'

Oh, please! If that's not scaremongering I don't know what is.

Have the British ever been bothered to riot about anything on a large scale lately other than football?

Quattrocento · 03/05/2010 00:10

The trouble is that the Labour Party got us into this mess.

I seriously believe that voting Labour will see the economy looking something like Greece's in a couple of years. Tax 'n' spend, followed by more tax 'n' spend, followed by 'oops we don't seem to have many people or companies left to tax but we'll carry on with the tax 'n' spend routine.'

Quattrocento · 03/05/2010 00:11

Not that I have any intention of voting Tory, btw, but still, voting Labour is only going to make things worse ...

atlantis · 03/05/2010 00:13

"Have the British ever been bothered to riot about anything on a large scale lately other than football? "

They marched for the Iraq qar, but not so much with the rioting.

They rioted over the G 10 but Brown sent int he police to kil squash them.

They rioted over the EDL, but that's okay because it was the liberals rioting.

newyorkshire · 03/05/2010 00:17

I can see what you are saying but actually I and I am thinking that the Labour gove has had to spend out to fix the years of severe lack of funding from the tories into education and health. I guess its a case of what priorities you have and how you feel it ought to be done.

expatinscotland · 03/05/2010 00:18

Whatever history of real riot they had they lost long ago, I can assure you.

Not that it's a pleasant experience I care to repeat.

expatinscotland · 03/05/2010 00:18

I'm not a Labour voter, either.

lilmissmummy · 03/05/2010 00:24

I wasnt talking about rioting I was talking about the state of their economy. I agree with Quattrocentro voting Labour will make things worse.

I have no problem with Lib Dems I think that some of their policies are a good idea however I agree with the majority of the conservatives policies and feel that DC will be the best person to get us out of this mess.
