My daughter pointed out that many of the followers seem to have Cluster B personality disorder. I think she might have a point.
I hope it’s ok, but I’ve copied and pasted the following bullets point because they clarify the disorder much more succinctly than I can:
A persistent disregard for the rights, safety, and feelings of others. People with ASPD often break social or legal rules, act impulsively, lie repeatedly, and show a lack of remorse.
It involves an overwhelming desire to be noticed, leading to constant attention-seeking, dramatic or provocative behaviour, and rapidly shifting, shallow emotions. Often struggle heavily with emotional regulation and may engage in impulsive or self-harming behaviours.
Involved a grandiose sense of self-importance, and constant need for excessive admiration or praise, a sense of entitlement, and a lack of empathy for others - virtue signalling, moral grandstanding.
Common Traits and Characteristics
- Emotional Intensity: Strong, volatile reactions to everyday stressors or perceived slights.
- Impulsivity: Acting quickly on urges without weighing long-term consequences.
- Interpersonal Conflict: Difficulty forming and keeping healthy, balanced relationships due to boundary issues or manipulation.
- Reduced Empathy: A diminished capacity to understand or care about the emotional experiences of others (though the root cause varies by diagnosis)
Interesting correlation.
