Yup - and I both quoted and reported it.

🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn't report as I prefer people to see the poster for the vile & idiotic twat they are 💁🏻‍♀️

Cover up?. I didn’t agree with her on anything, but I can’t imagine she was ever involved in anything that would require a ‘cover up’. 🤷‍♀️

You misunderstand us (myself and Clive). We do not think Anne was involved in anything untowards but think the police will keep details of the perpetrator(s) under their hats. At most there will be a trickle feed of information (ambiguous) releases over the years, but largely left as a 'whodunnit'

Me too, although it was a cousin of a parent.
Her sons lived further away. I was the one who took her shopping once a week.
When there were really bad storms I wanted her to come to stay with us in our guest room with it's own bathroom.
Not a chance.
She was born in her house, if the roof blew off, then she'd go with it.
Stubborn?
Yeah, but the most sensible well, sometimes and strongest woman I've met.
Would she be able to fend off a burglar?
No.

Exactly.
And looking back I don't think it ever entered the heads of any of my male relatives, because why would it? She was mentally tack sharp right up to the end. She could've run the country if not the world and nothing short of a box was getting her out of that house (correctly as it turned out) but I could never shake the awareness that she was a tiny woman, living in a very isolated place and if any man had broken in then she wouldn't have stood a chance.

Nick Ross wrote an interesting piece about how it v likely was Barry George, worth a read as I thought the same as you before I read it.

It was 95% speculation and stuff which had been excluded as evidence, or disproved in court. You might as well believe Timmy Robertson's film full of lies about the Syrian boy!

To what end? I'm baffled as to why you (both you and Clive) think the police would prefer not to solve a high-profile murder.

Oh right. Well if they charge anyone, they are limited in what they can say with any enquiry. .

At lunchtime, in broad daylight?

Residential burglaries most commonly occur during daylight hours (specifically 10 AM to 3 PM) on weekdays when homes are vacant due to work or school. Official statistics confirm that almost two-thirds of domestic burglaries in England and Wales occur during daylight hours.

Most break ins are in the day when it’s assumed people are at work. If she’d left a window open because of the heat it’s not impossible it opportunistic.

There was an almost 90 percentage chance the police knew who jack the ripper was, many think the restriction of publically naming would do less damage then to 'spill the beans'. I'll say no more but mark my words, this will be 'brushed under the carpet '

You need to stop watching so many B-rated crime dramas.

My house was burgled at about 11am when someone was at home. In summer in broad daylight. They took advantage of a downstairs open window.

Are you joking? If you are it is in poor taste. If not, well I don't know what to say to such mad speculation.

Chenecinquantecinq · 11/07/2026 14:38

Why would a burglar need to overpower a frail elderly lady? There is much more to this.

Maybe she started screaming or tried to leave the house.

Spookyspaghetti · 11/07/2026 17:25

ShakyBake · 11/07/2026 15:47

I've just had a length conversation with my husband Clive, about this. Both of the opinion there is, or will be, a massive cover up

I’m sure a whole police force have better things to do than cover up the murder of a prominent individual. 🙄 The amount of people that would have to be in on it etc

Now if you are suggesting it was targeted, that might be plausible. There are political figures that need the heat off them and Russian have no qualms assassinating people on our shores. But, realistically, it is either someone she knows, a robbery ‘gone wrong,’ or a mentally ill individual who has been radicalised.

A Conservative MP was murdered and it wasn’t covered up so it is certainly not going to be a politically biased investigation from the police perspective.

RIP Ann

Sorry for being factual.

Something that so very many posters are not doing on this or the previous thread.

I do believe she would read it as a defence of all vulnerable people of an older vintage who may not be quite up to fighting off an intruder.

Your beliefs are irrelevant, but your patronising description of a tough strong woman is not based on fact. Unless of course you were there.

Chenecinquantecinq · 11/07/2026 17:27

Okay...whatever 🦇💩 you believe.

I still maintain a female in her late 70s couldn't fight of a male in his teens, twenties, thirties...etc
